Some added context: D’Amore wanted to go in a new direction with the company which would’ve meant more money. There were even rumors TNA was making big money offers at CM Punk and Will Ospreay. Ultimately though Anthem was happy with the pace TNA was at and said no. D’Amore offered to buy the company outright from Anthem, they rejected, and he was fired. Scott was not paying the bills through this whole time it was Anthem, so why Scott played a role in keeping the company going from a management stand point it was still Anthem paying the bills and putting TNA on a network they own.
Sad to say but, probably, TNA won't make it out of 2024. They have been hanging on, surviving for the last bunch of years thanks to Scott and the talents. I don't know what will happen, but one thing is for sure, Anthem will NOT put any extra money into the company. What you see now on TV is all you will get and sadly, for MANY it's just not enough. I hope Scott returns, but it won't happen because of MONEY!! Sometimes it's just not healthy to work under too much stress, the talents look very upset and stressed. IMO TNA is not a healthy place anymore. The talents deserve better, maybe TNA going OOB is not such a bad thing. That would give everyone a chance to move on and start fresh in a new company where they will be appreciated. They will all find work, many many companies out there!!
People have been saying that TNA was going to go out of business since 2010. TNA survived losing Spike TV, losing AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Sting , Kurt Angle, heck even Covid-19. Losing Scott D'Amore sucks and but it is not the end of the world. I still remember fans criticizing his decision to put the title on Tessa Blanchard.
Massive over reaction to scott leaving. The ratings were and still are terrible. Name change and bringing back the old theme is very nostalgic but nothing else has changed.
forgive me, i havent really watched wrestling since the wwf golden era but i am still familiar enough with the different promotions of today. i came across this video and the speech this guy gave was great and sounded very sincere. what exactly happened?
TNA which has been teetering on the edge of obscurity and bankruptcy for years finally hired a booker named Scott D'amore which the roster and fans both loved who was turning things around for them. Then suddenly Anthem sports, the company who owns TNA fired him without explanation.
No idea. I haven't watched TNA since the very early 2010's. I instantly recognized Eric Young's voice...I thought he was a TNA promoter or manager. He has been around for a very long time, so I can definitely see that. He has always been more of a TNA guy and won championships there.
I just saw Scott D'amore give an awesome heart felt speech after the ppv Hard to Kill went off about how tna is back, and then a few days later, I find out he's fired? Wtf.. From what I hear, I heard he got fired because he wanted to bring more wrestlers in.. but the parent company Anthem Media Group doesn't want to spend any money. They don't even want to do live tv, which is another thing Scott was pushing for. I feel like TNA will be another shoestring budget promotion if that's the case.
This would have been before the live broadcast started. I assume the camera crew are told to just go get coverage of everything involving the talent, even when they're not live but potentially still recording, just in case it's something they might want to use. I strongly doubt anyone at Anthem will greenlight releasing that footage in an official capacity any time soon if ever.
So while yall are on this....why are yall ok with Hugh NOW after you bashed and crucified him just a couple years ago for getting guys to actually train????????????? I know I know..... everyone is a hypocrite. But really.....why are yall ok with him now???
Well, they chose to run the Alario Center which is way out of New Orleans. NOLA is already hard to run in and to draw something in. Much less do it on a Friday evening.
Anthem clearly told them do this. Or no more paychecks. LOL TNA is fully back. At least till those contracts run out. Have fun resigning anyone anthem.
Good lord how small is the arena and the crowd it sound like 5 people clapping and idk about TNA i wish they were as big as they were in the 00s and still had that stellar roster of old and new guys but no disrespect to the young guys but wrestling cannot work without a perfect combo of old and new
Nice speech, very uplifting, thank you for uploading it! Frankly, the wording was bad, especially when in the last years we lost many good people in Wrestling! Noone "lost" Scott D'Amore, everyone knows exactly where to find him! We were robbed of him, that's the truth!
You sound stupid, you do realize that right? You just want to be negative just to be negative. Let us loyal fans enjoy TNA and if you don't like it, move the F on
I agree! TNA 2.0 as I call it is dead! The original TNA I loved that had a great roster and went to huge arenas back in the Hogan/Bischoff era. Many hated that era but it was way better than this version of TNA now with no good talent and a super cheap company that wants the product to continue looking like a poor indie promotion that can only afford to hire jobbers and midcarders that no one cares about or never heard of lol I was once a hardcore TNA fan but stopped watching last year after being a fan of the product since 2009 because it's a terrible product now and even if Scott wasn't fired, he cannot fix a severely damaged product. I'm an MLW guy now, it has a way better presentation, better arena, better PPVs and a better roster. RIP TNA 2.0.
I don't even watch TNA (other than catching clips here on yt) yet I know how important Scott is. All it takes is a few seconds of internet searching to find out how impactful he was in TNA's past success and recent rise. For some casual fan like me to know this- and for Anthem either not to, or choose to ignore it completely is a special kind of stupid.
Scott Demore (probably spelled wrong) got fired really recently. He was lead booker or head of creative or something of that nature and was really loved by apparently the entire roster.
No, Scott D'amore was fired from his position as essentially the head of TNA and replaced with a corporate stooge with no knowledge of the product. It's like Jim Heard's WCW all over again.
No, they're not shutting down. They've been taking heavy criticism because Scott dismore, who ran the company made a power play and he didn't win. An anthem kicked him to the curve. There were there to reintegrate that nothing has changed and they're going to still be there to entertain their fans and pretty much tell all the haters and there are a lot of haters to move the f*** on and let them
Scott D'Amore was let go by Anthem, TNA's new parent, Anthem Entertainment. Not exactly sure what the reasons were, whether it was streamlining redundancies (bringing in their own people to replace him anyway) or it was silencing the squeaky wheel because D'Amore always championed the product by demanding a bigger production budget and bigger overall investment in the company. It's not as big and shiny as the competition. It's also made up of a lot of what Vince/WWE thinks were 3rd tier talent and were subsequently let go to eventually find a home in TNA. Others went to AEW. All in all, it's a brand struggling to find an identity. It's been around in some form for decades. It's a testament to the brand that it's managed to stay relevant. It's a big shake-up for TNA. It should survive it, but it's the initial apprehensive dance the talent and crew have with management that they have to overcome and trust in. It's a bit of a heavy-handed move on Anthem's part because everyone in TNA appreciated and loved D'Amore for his work and promotion of the brand.
I think EY addressing the crowd in a NOLA suburb is fitting given that TNA parent Anthem just fired Scott D'Amore. EY and D'Amore go way back and TNA just won't feel the same without the latter there.
I'd love it if Anthem listened to the talent and brought Scott D'Amore back, but from the point of view of the company it sets a bad precedent. Don't be surprised if Anthem Sports suspends operations for TNA entirely until further notice and doesn't allow the talent to work anywhere else. They can simply keep paying the minimum, let everyone's contract run out and eventually close down the promotion and sell the library to AEW or TKO. TNA isn't really profitable for Anthem Sports, at least not as much as they expected, and they're a business, they care about making money, not pleasing less than 100K fans.
Man, for Eric Young to be the one to make this speech.. Anyone who knows anything knows that him and D'Amore go back 20 years at TNA. Cant imagine how hard this was for him.

This is why it's so hard not to like TNA I mean the balls of these guys they said what they wanted in a respectable manner and still got their point across .... goosebumps
EY definetely spoke from the heart about his former Team Canada co worker Scott D'Amore who was unfortunately terminated by Anthem.
THATS there entire locker room!!!?? Theres the REAL issue.
that vape hit at the end though...
wow all that and he said nothing
Said in front of ...dozens and dozens of people in attendance😂
So anthem didnt like that Scott asked for an icrease in budget and he gets canned. Its not like he took a dump on their heads during working hours.
Nope only vince does that 😅
If not for Scott, TNA would be a tape library on the WWE Network by now .....
True
Scott was not paying the bills through this whole time it was Anthem, so why Scott played a role in keeping the company going from a management stand point it was still Anthem paying the bills and putting TNA on a network they own.
Bro couldn’t wait to get off stage to hit that vape 😂
A TNA original and the current world champion is pissed.
SCOTT COMES BACK WITH THE MAIN EVENT MAFIA !
Scott was the heart and soul of TNA
Sad to say but, probably, TNA won't make it out of 2024.
They have been hanging on, surviving for the last bunch of years
thanks to Scott and the talents. I don't know what will happen, but
one thing is for sure, Anthem will NOT put any extra money into the company.
What you see now on TV is all you will get and sadly, for MANY it's just
not enough. I hope Scott returns, but it won't happen because of MONEY!!
Sometimes it's just not healthy to work under too much stress, the talents look
very upset and stressed. IMO TNA is not a healthy place anymore.
The talents deserve better, maybe TNA going OOB is not such a bad thing.
That would give everyone a chance to move on and start fresh in a new company
where they will be appreciated.
So why and how the hell did they sign Ziggler!?
Massive over reaction to scott leaving. The ratings were and still are terrible. Name change and bringing back the old theme is very nostalgic but nothing else has changed.
@@chrisjames5188I agree, bringing back a name and theme song won't make the company better lol those days are over when TNA was good.
Nope
forgive me, i havent really watched wrestling since the wwf golden era but i am still familiar enough with the different promotions of today. i came across this video and the speech this guy gave was great and sounded very sincere. what exactly happened?
TNA which has been teetering on the edge of obscurity and bankruptcy for years finally hired a booker named Scott D'amore which the roster and fans both loved who was turning things around for them. Then suddenly Anthem sports, the company who owns TNA fired him without explanation.
@oeatallday Scott has been there for 20 years. He is TNA, do your research.
No idea. I haven't watched TNA since the very early 2010's. I instantly recognized Eric Young's voice...I thought he was a TNA promoter or manager. He has been around for a very long time, so I can definitely see that. He has always been more of a TNA guy and won championships there.
Amazing speech by Eric Young for Scott I know that was for him
d amore is the morale booster of tna feels like dead that his not there anymore ,but they have to move on
Damn Scott D'more got fired, he ain't freaking DEAD!?!
You can tell that roster is leaving once they've finished all of the stuff they started with Scott. Gonna be a Rossy Ogawa situation.
Eric Young...the man is so good. He reminds me so much of Harley Race.
He said it wasn't on TV, yet there was a TV camera right in his face filming.
Sounded like 10 people were there. Just sad when they have to send out the talent like this.
Well, they chose to run the Alario Center which is way out of New Orleans.
NOLA is already hard to run in and to draw something in. Much less do it on a Friday evening.
This was done when ppl were filing in. There was a great crowd for the show itself.
Come out to address maybe 10 people 🤣
That what passion is love seeing it
Let's see who's left when contracts come up
I 🖤 TNA Wrestling! 🔥
Is there like 20 people there? That was terrible cheering from that crowd.
Go sit down fake wrestling fan
750
Anthem clearly told them do this. Or no more paychecks. LOL TNA is fully back. At least till those contracts run out. Have fun resigning anyone anthem.
Good lord how small is the arena and the crowd it sound like 5 people clapping and idk about TNA i wish they were as big as they were in the 00s and still had that stellar roster of old and new guys but no disrespect to the young guys but wrestling cannot work without a perfect combo of old and new
Nobody even looks defeated lol
Yeahh no, I was fully onboard with the re-branding but after firing Scott I'm just not interested in TNA's "revamp" anymore. Good job Anthem.
There are eight people in the seats. forgive me if i am wrong, but it doesn't seem like this company was doing good before Scott was fired.
EY a true real locker room leader. Well spoken by EY
Nice speech, very uplifting, thank you for uploading it! Frankly, the wording was bad, especially when in the last years we lost many good people in Wrestling! Noone "lost" Scott D'Amore, everyone knows exactly where to find him! We were robbed of him, that's the truth!
Great speech EY. But just being honest, they (the roster) look disinterested.
I understand i may be wrong, but thats how it looks
TNA is DED dead, that locker room is zombies and from the Sounds of the 20 people in the crowd compared to what is used to be, is sad to watch.
You sound stupid, you do realize that right? You just want to be negative just to be negative. Let us loyal fans enjoy TNA and if you don't like it, move the F on
Buddy if you watched the ppv you would see it’s sold out . Dumb fucking Moron
People have been saying this for years
TNA has been dead for a long time, even letting TNA wrestlers into the WWE royal rumble shows how desperate they are to prove they are still around.
All it takes is a few seconds of internet searching to find out how impactful he was in TNA's
past success and recent rise. For some casual fan like me to know this- and for Anthem either not to, or choose to ignore it completely is a special kind of stupid.
I dont watch TNA I got this video randomly on my recommended feed. What's the context? Is TNA shutting down?
Scott Demore (probably spelled wrong) got fired really recently. He was lead booker or head of creative or something of that nature and was really loved by apparently the entire roster.
No, Scott D'amore was fired from his position as essentially the head of TNA and replaced with a corporate stooge with no knowledge of the product. It's like Jim Heard's WCW all over again.
No, they're not shutting down. They've been taking heavy criticism because Scott dismore, who ran the company made a power play and he didn't win. An anthem kicked him to the curve. There were there to reintegrate that nothing has changed and they're going to still be there to entertain their fans and pretty much tell all the haters and there are a lot of haters to move the f*** on and let them
@@flyguy7825you sound pure stupid😂😂😂
Showtime EY is amazing TNA original😢
Great speech Eric. On a different note it seems like there is more wrestlers on the show than people in the audience 😂
It sounded like 17 people were there.
14, a few seats were left unsold.
We were all still walking in.
I think EY addressing the crowd in a NOLA suburb is fitting given that TNA parent Anthem just fired Scott D'Amore. EY and D'Amore go way back and TNA just won't feel the same without the latter there.
I want to see TNA wrestling united with WWE Universal at Wrestlmania # 40 ❤❤❤
can anyone explain what happened ?
Lmao- nice move on the green (pun intended) boys for hitting the vape before getting backstage
They still have crowds?
That was so sad..
Ridiculous only sounds like 5 people in the arena
There was like seven people in attendance lol
No audio?
