  • Made a great instrument and you want to save it? This video shows two approaches, patch with samples and monolith. Adding your instruments to the quickload makes composition much easier too. Hear my music for free on Spotify here - open.spotify.co... ----

Thank you. This was actually tons more help than I even needed. Now, I know multiple ways to store aside open project data.

I ran into you once on Blend IO, you're a pretty cool guy! I just made a promise to myself to never use the EXS24 sampler from Logic; I am now taking on the big task of converting all to Kontakt. Great Vid, just what I was looking for. Cheers from Maryland!

Went so long without knowing how to save patches lol. I just had everything saved on the entire DAW's file that contained Kontakt. But this is great and thanks much for this :D

Thanks for the video! Is there a way to save as you go rather than waiting until the instrument is complete to Save? I see all the options are "save as" and not "save" TIA!!

nice. i kept saving this as a multi instrument, and not clicking the save as area. was getting pissed when i tried to load other instruments in the same rack. haha, anyway thanks for the help.

Hi, great video! I have a question I hope you can answer. I just made my first instrument and saved it. I works great alone with a loop or whatever but once I have more stuff in the session it starts to lag, especially when something fast happens. Some notes comes very late or is not triggered at all. I am not playing it in real time btw - the lag is in playback from the programmed midi. I have a great pc with 16GB ram and running the session with a buffersize of 1024 samples. Any ideas? Thanks

Learning Kontakt is like learning an entire operating system - from about 1997. Never have I used a modern plugin where I had to do copious reading / online research for the basic functions. Never have I seen a synth interface with more pop-up menus, _tiny_ labels, and unfamiliar icons! Never have I had to drag patches around with a mouse, just to audition them, to avoid stacking multiple instances on different layers/midi channels. (At least give us the _option_ of working on a single layer, with clickable patch changes, for pity's sake!) Sorry, I really needed to vent!

this doesn't work for larger Kontakt packs like Session Horns Pro. saving a preset this way takes over an hour, is there a better way at all?

Once you give me the monolith version, I can resave the patch + samples and gain access to those samples. So i doesn't work the way you think m8 :)

pc is the same documents native instruments kontakt5 etc. unless you are saving on an external hard drive.
