Hey there. You need to declare anything more than £10,000 or more. Or you can just retain your Indian account, and use it here instead of carrying cash. More than anything it isn't really safe. Or use a forex card.

Great info. I came upon this video when I had just received a payment via PayPal from UK, which I refund back to the client to hold until I find a more suitable payment alternative. The amount was just 263 pounds, PayPal's charges were 13.54 pounds and that too will be only credited to indian bank account after 21 days due to some verification reasons it seems !!!! Wot rubbish...

Transferring money out of India is the worst nightmare and is almost a con... Feels so third world still and still living in 80's.. Imagine investing in India in capital markets and waiting months paying for CA, ITR forms , and going around banks and paying each for their services and finally the banks and or these so called websites charges you as well. Stupid sending money to India . They call it world class services...😝
I think Remitly is the best option as it charges you less thn £5

Hi, you can open a bank account here once you get here and then transfer the money to the UK bank account. You'll have to check on taxes though.
