Let me save you a comment. The answer is NO, I will not stop making hilarious songs for my videos. Soundtrack available to download at www.patreon.com/thestorytillnow for those of you with a sense of humor. 😂
Too funny that was your first comment ! hehehe After watching a few vids I was saying to myself I love these little custom diddy songs you added and came to the comments to say that...... Keep it up ! ......be stuck in my head now....... ".....overland ranch now , overland ranch now.....they got no horses....just under the hood....." hehehe
This channel is RAPIDLY becoming one of my favorites. Great job and maybe I'll see you on a random trail in the future. The Arctic adventure series was awesome.
The reason they don’t run bigger tires is because of the limits of Toyota’s suspension geometry and Toyota doesn’t want them to cut fenders. how many mountains have they climbed towing their patriot trailers? That 33” tire speech annoyed me.
Don't know if any of you two ever watched any of XOverlands videos, but they've been all over the world offroad. Just saying, look them up and you'll get a better understanding of what they're about.
The statement that wheeling rigs with smaller tires shows that you have more skill was what I had issue with. Driving around the world on bad roads doesn’t make you a more skilled wheeler. What they do takes skills but they are different skills. Driving up mountains on deactivated forest services road with large washouts takes a lot of wheeling skill. Larger tires are often required to drive through steep washouts.
Shaun, was really great to meet you at the XOverland Ranch and I love the music you made for this video. If you noticed my calf I am sure you could tell I was a Toyota guy. 😆
Awesome video as always Shaun. The XO ranch is definitely a place I’m going to visit in the future. And the new Trailhunter Toyota Tacoma is such an awesome overland rig.
Hi Shaun, all you guys, you have to consider yourself so lucky because here in Italy, we don’t have some places like that!Amazing👊🏼 Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹
I drive a lot or customer Tacomas at work. You getting into the Tacoma is exactly my experience every single time! Why the heck are they so awkward. Once you’re in and settled it’s fine but it’s so different getting into than any other vehicle I always bang my knees or head, sometimes both
Great video! (minus that ‘Taco Time’ song which was pretty painful) I had TRD Offroad Taco, which was pretty capable on the trails. Good to see that Toyota has made some much needed improvements.
Love how polarizing the tunes are 😂 "we don't ride horses, we only have the ones under the hood" Is gold -don't listen to them, I'm un-ronically into it. Listening to "coffee" on Soundcloud right now!
@@TheStoryTillNow Pretty thrilled with it, though it needs at least 35s and smaller wheels. Getting some stuff together so I can go bash the skids on it a bit and camp out if the thing.
I'm a little unsure how to say it diplomatically, because I love your films and I wouldn't want you to take it the wrong way. You have a brilliant eye for shots, you tell stories beautifully, and your drone flying skills are just brilliant, but.... It's the AI generated music that is simply a nightmare. There is just great music. People donate their time and engage talent to compose beautiful sounds that complement the message you have to convey. And these “mumbling” sounds and idle lyrics completely don't fit here. Of course, this is just my personal opinion and don't take it too personally.
I'm with ya... Yeah I'm conflicted, figure creators should be supporting other creators... Using AI on this aspect of the content doesn't sit right somehow...
as a creator, I can personally say, paying an artist to write custom lyrics and compose the song, is wildly expensive. Like on the low end it's about $500 USD, on the high end it can be a few thousand dollars. Shaun added 2 or 3 custom AI generated songs. Probably cost him the subscription price of the AI model he's using, otherwise it would likely cost him around $6000, which isn't sustainable for anyone as a content creator. I don't think he was expecting anyone to take the music seriously.
Sure for original compositions, but noone is suggesting that... There are several services that provide music from creators for use in this sort of context, and they are usually not prohibitively expensive and provide income for creators... I believe he has used these services in the past, always to great effect. Using the AI models provides nothing of support to the creative community at large, worse there are many questions about the ethics or the training of many of these models.
@@JaredBusch for me those song suck. He is putting so much effort in shooting and editing those epic videos and slaps something that for me is lacking quality. They sound like gas powered leaf blowers. Hilarious how techy off-roading has become in just a few short years. A 20 year old sequoia could do that much quicker with its antiquated Atrac and no lockers. Next they’ll add a setting for pebbles, rock type, wind direction, etc. it’s getting a little out of hand. Wheeling isn’t that complicated. That’s why most of us do it. For fun. 😊
Almost went there too... but I had too much going on that weekend to go. I'm in Montana and can testify that the bugs get worse as the hoppers get bigger and August brings everthing out, only in grown up sizes! LOL! Its crazy how fast the windsheild gets covered here. 15 miles past the gas stop and you are looking through slime and legs and wings... we carry an extra gallon of windshield cleaner on most trips.
It's amazing and awesome how you guys are all connected in some way or form. But here's my thing about Toyota. The vehicle is known and used throughout the world. How is it that Overland Expedition could not find a AC Condenser in the hottest continent in the world
While crossing the Prairie Provinces last summer and videoing I got chewed on for not cleaning the bugs off enough. I was carrying lots of washer fluid I just got used to seeing everything through bug guts!
Beautiful trucks. Toyota should have never moved away from the tried and true motors they once had. Heard nothing but bad things about the new engines in the tacoma and tundra
@@Spack005 They have not, they've barely begun to send out recall notices. My dad has a 2023 Tundra manufactured in Jan 2023 so it's inside the recall window, he hasn't gotten a recall notice mailed to him yet. Toyota is dragging their feet on this.
Looks like a nice event for you. Nothing too heavy, and you were allowed to camp in the vender section. 👍👍 Wonder if Dirt Garage is downloading the Taco Time soundtrack for the next campout ? 😂 🌲🤙
Sometimes these computers channel all of the torque to only one wheel and break stuff. Not what I would call mechanical sympathy. (See TFL’s Tacoma) In the old days you would just turn your steering wheel back and forth to reallocate torque to different wheels.
X Overland went from being cool dudes going places, having fun to an almost toyota mafia, milking every penny of the overlanding scene. You can see them get more and more commercial in their videos and then you see this ranch. It will be XO Mission to teach off-roading, recovery, and the tacticool skills in order to keep making even more. Seems like they now have their fingers in everything toyota, international off-road equipment and overlanding, not to mention their distribution of premium adventure travel and overlanding content. Funny how they are talking to you and selling you the brand and the idea of the tires etc., when you can wheel better, and probably know more about it then them. The gadget fail on how great they work, reckon you would have driven that easily and also had plenty mechanical sympathy.
I don’t think you can compare this type of offroading with what Jeeps can do. As cool as some of the features are, this vehicle would struggle on many Jeep trails. I say it’s 2 seperate world.
Kind of boring tbh. There new off-road vehicles just coasting through the coarse. Let's see an old school drive through, hell, throw in a 2wd truck to make it real interesting 😂😂😂
It looks like they did a pretty good job of putting together an out-of-the-box experience. I'm still gonna prefer built over bought, but it seems capable enough. Seating positions still look atrocious. lol - a Tacoma guy.
Tbh I love the new seating position..I am shorter then most ppl. But I have had multiple back surgeries and I find my 24 a lot more comfy to drive then my 18

Shaun, super important question here mate.... at 13:30, that Land Cruiser sounds like a diesel. Can you confirm if that is true? And if yes, do you have any insight as to whether they will be offering this drive train for North America? That to me is a huge game changer if yes in buying one. Exactly...if the vehicle just does it for you, how have you accomplished anything?
My Trailhunter is a 2005 JEEP TJ RENEGADE. :)
Good news. Toyota tocoma 2025 is bringing back the V 6 engine
A 500$ tj with lockers can crawl that while looking for a dropped beer. Keep the trail destroyer man. He’s a salesman I’ll give him that tho
