That's a really pretty rig. I myself just got into the fixie world with my first one. Safe to say I'm hooked. I love watching raw builds like this. Well done.
Totally agree with you about the rat-look of the frame. Combined with the other parts it really stands out! Always loved performance before looks, even though it doesn't have to be a contradiction ;-)
Waiting for your content, really happy to wake up this sunday with this vid. Considering doing another commuter build ones? A 1x flatbar roadbike or something, Thanks anyway for all your vids they've been helping in a calming way but also as a instructional way.
Hey cheers! Thanks for kind words. I have actually been thinking about doing another one, just haven’t managed to come across a decent bike/frame yet..
Sweet build yo! Would have loved to have seen this with drop bars to pay homage to the Keirin heritage but still looks slick with a flat bar. Oh, and when that paint catches the summer sunlight ... 👌
Nice build! One thing, I would watch out for those Pasela tires. I've had 3 of the very same (but in 28) blow out on the sidewalls on me, ruining both itself and the inner tube. I was lucky I wasnt going downhill. Wouldn't use them ever again.
Bom dia meu amigo essa bike aí é um sonho de consumo do velhinho aqui 😊 muuuuito top 💯👏👍 não precisa de marcha só precisa de aventura muito pedal menos gasto e manutenção muito tops 💯👏
Pulled them off an old Avanti road bike a while ago, they pop up every now and then on some road bikes so keep an eye out. Quite hard to find a decent set with no brake wear and good stickers though!
Just a coincidence I guess haha, I do go on reddit and I do look at a lot of builds online so maybe there was some sub-conscience inspo there haha. Can you link the post? I’m curious now
It is a Nitto NJS stamped seatpost, that means it´s bombproof. I can attest to that myself, owning one of these. If you don´t extend it over the minimum insertion mark, this will last you a lifetime.
I just realized how massive Nitto seat post and stem are...and DA cranks don't have fluting to make 'em slimmer and lighter. Everything made to withstand not to be light or fancy. DA track hubs also aren't lightest if I remember correctly. I guess obsession with light track bikes comes from MTB and road crowd?
Yeah I’ve never personally be fussed about weight, I’ve always preferred strength and longevity over weight. Don’t mind a few extra grams if it means my parts are stronger and can take more of a beating
As @niceup1177 said, your best bet is to look up the current prices and see what’s available. It’s quite hard to cost up as I sometimes strip bikes just for a few parts and I also built up the wheels. Your local market will also be a factor, over here in NZ it can be hard to come by nice parts. Labour wise some shops might charge you a few hundred
@@sonymicronin its not a skill issue - braking distance increases, as does the accident rate. brakes dont really weigh much in the scheme of the rest of the bike, this puts looks over saftey
Awesome build! Scratches and scuffs add spicy look. New favourite video on the chanel. Love steel bikes.
Cheers mate! I personally love a frame with some nice visible history and age, also means I’m less worried about scratching it up haha
I’m so close to building up an njs panasonic frame. This video has given me another kick to jump in and get it finished.
Another Beautiful build! 🚲
Thank You for sharing.
Thank you for watching! glad you enjoyed :)

love the aesthetic of old bikes
that handlebar tape job is mintttt
He did it backwards 😭 but shouldn't really matter on a flat bar.
glad to see you back chief
cheers mate!
As always a beautiful build and video. So enjoy watching these!
yo wavey glad you are back.

Amazing build! Silver parts just like the good old days.

Lovely build dude 😍 love me some NJS!
Thanks mate! Gotta love that Japanese build quality🤝

Cheers man! I was tossing up between drops and flat bars but ended up going flats as my last njs build (vivalo) I used nitto drops

Nice bike! 🤩
Which is the brand/name of that screw-on chain link?
Thanks! It’s an Izumi V Super Toughness chain
That seat could've used a little polishing. Isn't Kiwi from New Zealand?
I see that parallax in the back

Hell yesh dooood
Cheers man!

Which chainring/lockring tool are you using for your fixed gear builds?
How did you get a hold of the original/vintage araya rims? I've been looking for years.

Where did you buy this frame ?
And how much?
Nice!
Was the handlebar with that bar tape inspired by a post from Reddit? Or is it just a coincidence that you used the same technique?

Awesome :)

Could you Fit 50c on the Mash Reyes F/R?
What crankset is that?
dura ace cranks and alter madmax?
What's the chainwhip?
Shimano. Could kill a raptor with it not only tighten parts.

That seatpost is so short. Is that safe?

Just out of curiosity, ballpark $$ for parts and labor on a bike like this?
i think most of these components are not being produced anymore so you would have to look at the used market and calculate the cost yourself.

oh wow, another gearless and brakeless death trap, form over function
It’s only a death trap for you because you don’t have the skill to ride it
