- Lee Anderson lost the Conservative whip after refusing to apologize for remarks about Sadiq Khan on GB News, which the London mayor called “Islamophobic, anti-Muslim, and racist.”
Anderson, the MP for Ashfield, faced widespread criticism, leading to his suspension by the Conservative chief whip, Simon Hart.
Anderson will now serve as an independent MP.
His comments on GB News accused Khan of “giving our capital city away to his mates” and suggested that “Islamists” had influence over Khan and London.

Very well said - Thank you both. The Conservatives had a chance to show some leadership, to be different from Labour and the liberals, but they are so out of touch with the British people and they choose the standard woke easy way out and effectively sacked Lee Anderson. It is not lost on the British people that Sunak and Khan are not from the typical British Background.
