    Thanks for the video! Are you still planning on posting your plans for the shed?? I really like how moveable it is.

      @ french river springs You made the right choice my friend on putting the screws on the top ridge. I live in Asia and EVERYONE puts the screw on the top ridge NOT in the water channels. I am a roofer in Cambodia and everyone in America thinks the screw gos in the water channels!!!!! Uuuuuhhhhgggg super annoying lol good decision, and your project looks great !!!

    I like that you can just pick it up with the tractor you know it’s strong when you see that

    Thanks for the videos and sharing the plans! About the same cost as buying a piece a junk fabric car shed and this thing will last decades. Nice work! I live in Michigan and I'm tired of cleaning snow and ice off my car in the winter. A car shed like this may be a good fall project this year. I also like that its movable rather than setting the posts into the ground.

    Having help is also a safety issue. Besides one person must always be boss. Braces might have been a good idea before crawling up on the roof. As a 74 year old journeyman I would never turn down good help or miss a chance to socialize with friends. Anyhow, looks like you got a good cover for your lady’s car. Well done.

    Lovely setup of the house behind the ''rock cliff''. I'm planning to build the shed/light garage construction for 2 cars this summer, I hope its going to be at least 50% neat as yours :) Greetings

    My buddy and I like these so much we’re both going to build one (as long as material cost isn’t outrageous

    Looks good! 20ft lumber is rare, would never find that here in NB lol

      big box stores like Lowes or Home Depot won't carry them. I bought sixteen 21' x 6" at the local lumber yard. Turkstra lumber. I live in Caledonia Ontario.

    Best part of the video: you kissed the girl at the end. Very nicely built. Thank you for this video, I need a carport for my car, and I will use this as inspiration.

    Doing something similar but on my back porch. Not wanting to mess with the eaves and soffits nor drill into concrete yet I am doing something weird. Mine wont have the lower box framing. The posts will sit on concrete foundation blocks epoxied to porch the deck railings will use the slats on the block for lower rail. I could anchor one of the 4x4s on the outside using an anchor in ground. The idea being is If I want to move this I could so not a permanent structure not a part of the house per se, just something to make a cover over a portion of the porch. Tired of canopy tent awning things. The cool thing about this car shed is very sturdy and portable if need be.

    What was the cost for materials to build this? Would it be less expensive in comparison to purchasing a pre-built car shed?

    • @frenchriversprings
      @frenchriversprings  5 років тому

      I don't remember how much it cost but yes for sure it is more expensive then to buy one. Maybe twice as much? But in the long run it is much cheaper. Those pre build car shed usually only last 3 or 4 years.

    Great project. How much snow load do you get? Why don’t you invite friends to give you a hand. Project like this is made for friends and picnics.

      Speaking from experience as a journeyman carpenter, sometimes it's best to just do it yourself ;)

      I don't like help for jobs like that. I like it done the way I want it. My dad did I help me to lift the 2x12 x 18 feet long.
