I was 13 this game didn’t really follow football like that since I was more worried about what 2x+1=7 meant. But I still do 100% remember the very last play. I was in the nose bleeds and I just remember low key getting scared that the floor was gonna collapse because it was shaking so bad. The best way I could describe it was like waves going underneath your feet but it was concrete. You couldn’t here someone 2ft away from you and I’ve still never seen an atmosphere like it. Absolutely incredible.
As a Noles fan I’ll admit the ending sucked to what was a truly great game. But man the atmosphere between 2 historical programs in a top 5 clash on a Saturday night is what college football is all about.
That was one of the best games I’ve ever watched as someone who likes both notre dame and fsu I was glad it was a great game and preseason I looked forward to it heavily
ND fan. Great game; one I'll never forget. FSU crowd is always electric. Of course, I'll go to my grave saying that that last penalty was bullshit. See you week 1 'Noles!
The refs missed a similar pick play earlier in the game. You better believe that Jimbo gave the refs hell for missing that PI call which got them to get it right the next time.
@@benmangrum8626 Perhaps but #15 for FSU took his helmet off right after the play while he was still on the field. It should've been a 15 yard penalty on FSU resulting in offsetting penalties & ND replaying the down at the 3 yard line instead of the 18 yard line.
how was the first notre dame td not called for op but the last one is? shame on the officiating. you cant not call it early then call it later. stay consistent
They didn’t see it they were made aware of it. That’s why they called it the second time Brian Kelley was just dumb enough to run it again horrible coach.
No, you didn't get snubbed or jobbed or anything else. If ND had actually outplayed the Seminoles, then they would've won going away without any help from the refs. The Seminole offense matched ND's offense, score for score, except for the last two that illegal pick plays facilitated.
@@Luke-sx8urnotre dame has beaten them twice since then I was at 2018 game in south bendwhen ND beat the snot out of them.. and in 2021 ND also beat them at their own house just like in 2002 when Arnaz battle mocked their fans with the tomahawk chop

I was there too. It was my junior year. Craziest game ever.

The best part of us beating Notre Dame, was watching Lou Holtz on ESPN that night just being freaking enraged

@@TheDrRJP You need Jimbo. WTF, isn't FSU a destination HC job? Sad.
I was in that stadium. What a glorious match. Yeah, pick play was silly

@@dupreehundo3070 such a close game.. I was pulling for FSU as a Clemson fan. You guys have a bright future ahead
And it's here noles highest they've been ranked in a preseason AP poll since 2017
Y’all are 12-0, looks like your wish is granted!
Pain.
So Brian Kelly has been going for fourth down instead of 3 points for a long time. Doesn’t work like that in the SEC. It cost him this game too.
i was there and boi that was dope even tho i barley knew what football was lol
This was a good ass game holy cow
After the senseless interception by Jameis he was picking that Irish defense apart

Lmao they allowed a pick play on ND’s first td but not on their last… refs were so inconsistent in this game
Cause he was literally blocking on the line scrimmage 😂 the first one he actually ran a route
The refs missed the 1st pick play that ND used it but not the 2nd one they tried with the game on the line.
if you watch cfb ever, every offense in the country was running picks at this time
@@HW-ow9zp yes. But why call a pick play on the last play of the game and not on their first TD?

So pissed that night ND earned it
ND played a great game and they earned respect from the CFB writers. However, they didn't "earn a victory" by not stopping FSU from scoring.
