British law has always been the most brutal legal system in the world. You do realize those islamic governmetns in Saudi Arabia are propped up and militarized by western govenrments right? They are a minority in their own country and when protests during the arab spring began the west flooded them with military equipment and money to quash all protest. Its only within the past twenty years that the british system has adopted a PIECE of first nations jurisprudence, which is that victims are finally allowed to at least ADDRESS those who have wronged them in court. Anybody who has EVER been to court knows that victims are incidental. Somebody robs you, go home, 'the state' will take care of it (let me guess, its 'a state' that you constantly rail against). In first nations jurisprudence of course victims don't act as judges, but they are directly involved not only in what punishment is meted out, but what long term penalties their aggressor has to suffer under. This has only been RECENTLY part of western law, something which first nations did HUNDREDS of years ago. Up until a century ago british law was imprisoning people for stealing bread. Or sending them to Australia.

Australia day would be better spent quietly, without the parties, the alcohol, the demos, and all but essential services closed for 24 hours, so that people have time to contemplate on the realities. For one, Australian aboriginal people were the first to be the country's CUSTODIANS e.g. NOT OWNERS. Land was never owned anywhere by anyone, the first land to be owned was illegally claimed as owned. Fact is, all land was originally stolen and ever since, all who claim to own land are in fact complicit in land theft passed on through the generations. Next come the colonizers everywhere, taking possession of land already in illegal "ownership", while imposing their incompatible imports on ecosystems that were perfectly sustainable prior to industrialization and the chemical poisoning of environment and inhabitants. So let's not carry on the delusion, Australia today is a materialistically indulgent nation living in a cloud of flawed, conditioned values, where everyone is a player in the eventual demise of the collective.
This ridiculous divisive statement "always was always will be' is an insult to every non aboriginal person who've made Australia home. So only aboriginals get to have a land that's theirs and the rest of the human population don't, that applies to all other countries made up of a diverse population... you don't belong anywhere only the people that were here before you. I was born in England to generations of English yet I can't claim that I own England. It's nonsense and it's horrible.
Throughout history, Man has colonised areas; mostly by taking it from other tribes/peoples. How far back do you want to go? In history, if you wanted your land back, you had to fight for it. Where did the Aborigines come from, and who did they take the land off? There is evidence that they fought brutal and lethal battles amongst themselves with huge casualties on both sides. This picture of a peace loving people, in harmony with each other being savagely oppressed by the British is wrong. Honesty is what is needed; from both sides.
So if it has been happening forever then we can feel alright about the British taking the land, massacring the locals, herding them into missions, forcing them to not speak their language, stealing their children etc.
We brought them out of the literal stone age, offer them free housing, education. And yet 50% of aboriginal adults still live off handouts. They get a head start against other Australians and yet they still manage to go backwards.

@@GG_Booboo Dont ever hate to say that white fella here . I cut myself I bleed red blood another no matter the skin colour cuts themself, yep we all bleed red blood.
The main problem that I have with this statement... Aboriginal Elders have never once claimed to have any kind of 'ownership' over the land. They were custodians of the land - looking after it, making sure that nature (as a whole) stayed as normal as possible. They had to live off the land, of course, but they worked in concert with that, not overkilling animals or overcutting forests. Crops were an important part, but as with the whole concept, the crops were worked to provide minimal drain on the land. I'm not in any way excusing what has happened though. The early British military committed some atrocious 'war crimes' against the Aboriginals - the recent actions of Rio Tinto also did not help, blowing up Aboriginal rock art, dated to 80,000 years (or older) - so the Aboriginals actually have every right to be angry. IF change is to happen - it has to be unified, constant and consistent for a very long time - and it has to come from the people, European and Aboriginal, together. The concept of 'always was, always will be' is also a sharp reminder that nations have been doing the same things - a long rinse/repeat of violence - for millennia? Maybe now, it's time for a change?
The country you built. ! No one else. Your ancestors, they landed there with nothing. 400 years later, just look at all you've achieved. It's amazing Never surrender. Always be proud of your heritage . God love you Australia. We do to . From the UK. 👊💛👍

She would not have any legs.
@@mikearchibald744yes it would be sooo much better to live in those countries where women are second glass citizens, where homosexuality is punished by death and where killing and kidnapping babies is cheered on...

The Westminster system is founded on the principle that we are made in the image of God and we are innocent until proven guilty, it is why British founded countries today are some of the best in the world and why millions of migrants want to move there.
In Aboriginal Law you get speared by family or worse as payback, a never ending eye for an eye that still goes on today.
You seem to know so much about British Law, why don’t you educate yourself on Aboriginal Tribal Law, initiation, the occult and eyewitness accounts of how they lived.. it wasn’t utopia more like the brutal tribal life of Papua New Guinea.
by western govenrments right? I've never understood why people use the word 'right' at the end of a sentence. Why not put the opposite of 'right', such as left or wrong? Your name is Mike left? Your name is Mike wrong?

@@tomhicks1009 Yes.
So let's not carry on the delusion, Australia today is a materialistically indulgent nation living in a cloud of flawed, conditioned values, where everyone is a player in the eventual demise of the collective.
she either wouldn't exist or she would be Japaboriginal

And they decimated the pigmy peoples they found here .
Well said. Those tribes were weaker than the new tribe that came on boats and they lost. They need to get over it
Yea and no abo has to either
.
Settle down with the progressive mate, that brings in all kinds of lunacy that most of us in Australia dont want a bar of. The rest of what you typed I agree with.
She was simply reciting a truth. The vitriol and racism that comment triggered is a sad commentary on the racial attitudes that persist in Australia.
Imagine if all Australians of European or Asian ancestry left the country right now. Let’s see how Australia will turn out.
Look at PNG for that answer,....
I’m black (hate that I have to say that) and I 💯 agree!
@@GG_Booboo Dont ever hate to say that white fella here . I cut myself I bleed red blood another no matter the skin colour cuts themself, yep we all bleed red blood.
As long as all is bulldozed ….homes ….everything to the ground ….
@@Willberight2moro Valid point indeed.
It's amazing
Never surrender. Always be proud of your heritage .
God love you Australia.
We do to . From the UK. 👊💛👍
Why is there a Palestine flag there ...SORRY Love ... wrong demonstration .. your on next week.. !!! what a laugh ..
I noticedthePalestinianflags too! Yes I had a chuckle! I think they are rent-a-crowd.
Hijacking a cause.
The aboriginals didnt have any form of calender system . They didnt even understand the concept of days months or years . Yet they complain about a date in our history
Yea they did.You should go educate yourself before making stuff up.
Lol! Well said!

Which one of the 500 or so tribes proclaimed sovereignty over Terra Australis???
It’s time for National Pride to be recognized as a legitimate right of humanity!
Proud to be
AUSTRALIAN. I am a migrant and this beautiful country gave me a fair go in making a better life. The day I took my citizenship was one of the most proudest days in my life and will always be❤

Don’t really like migrants
I live in Canada and Australians are some of the most increíble humans I have ever met. Extremely open minded and loving. I enjoy living in Canada because of their presence. I also have many friends whom have moved to Australia. It’s the people and where things are today which matter. Colonization anywhere on the planet is going to have its after effects. Humans colonize.
Why is the younger generation refusing to see that? I’m beginning to hate the term colonization. The whole world is guilty!
@deniseberman8633 don't despair. Colonisation gave this country stable democratic Government with appropriate checks and balances, the rule of law with rights to speech, assembly and dissent. It also provided capitalism which elevated the standard of living of all Australians and provided safety nets for the disadvantaged. Don't be fooled, these activists are not lamenting a pre-stoneage civilisation that had not invented the wheel or written language, they are prosecuting a narative to usurp power. Take the time and talk to your grand kids, I do...
Australia does NOT "have a very flawed history". Compare our settlement with the Spanish entering central and south America. Would the Aboriginals have fared better under Dutch, Portugese or Chinese settlement ? Stop this silly and misleading representation of our nation's history.
English colonialism was no different from any other colonialism.
@@JackRichardsonM8
Yes it was.
All you have to do is look at Britain's past colonies and compare them with those se of Spain, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium etc.
No contest.
@@JackRichardsonM8 The Westminster System is very different.
@@gone547thats true. The british have been much fairer than all the rest, yet bare the brunt of all this nonsense.
The Australian government tried to breed out the aboriginals. They tried to get rid of them.
That is evil. I dont care what other countries have done. The fact you are trying to belittle the actions done by the Australian government is shameful.
You should look in the mirror.
Just close down the ABC and divert funds to where it is needed rather than these activist reporters.
Get that reporter OFF THE AIR. What a bloody insult
The woman with the long blonde hair hit the nail on the head with; "anything the British have ever done including the good they want to get rid of!" Be proud to be an Aussie and don´t let yourselves be bullied. I wouldn´t want to have grown up in Austrailia 300 yrs. ago!
If these people want to be living like they do on North Sentinel Island, still locked in the past, then I am sure we can find them an Island somewhere.

We already have an island bud.

Ask her about British law. There would be no buildings, no institutions, no law, no prosperity! It would just be land.
Remove the aboriginal flags from buildings and harbor bridge.
But leave them up at police stations.
Their second home
The fad is long gone. We want only one flag. United we stand, divided we...
You mean the ANDI. Aboriginal Nation Delusion Image.
Why ?
@@rosshitchen-ij6en Because Australia only has one flag. If you want to talk about adding it to our existing flag that's a conversation we can have (for example replacing the Union Jack and becoming a constitutional republic rather than a constitutional monarchy just as a quick thought), but dividing the country under two flags will only lead to an eventual civil war (no one can swear allegiance to two flags).
