nice Video - but the outputpower will be less than 10-13 Watt.
The internal resistor of the coil are 4.9ohm and if you get 1.3A then you have a voltage drop of about 6.3V at the coil. And don´t forget - this is only the R. in a dynamic system (rotating the generator) you also take care about the inductive resistor L. Time to use your oscilloscope.

10 volts unloaded and1.25 amps short circuit. you cant use 10*1.25 for power output rating because of the coil resistance. the most power you can get is by using a resistor with the same resistance as the internal resistance of the generator. the internal resistance of the generator is 4.9 ohms. if you connect 4,9 ohm load the current would be the half of the max short circuit current, which is 0.7 amps. the power output is I^2*R=2.4 watts. however if you short circuit the motor you can get 14-15 watts but they would be going straight into the coils heating them up very fast and causing them to burn in matter of 7-15 seconds

Brilliant. Now, what happens if we use the AC output directly through a step-up transformer?

  • @codebeard

You need to measure current and voltage at the same time to get the wattage. Maybe when it's an open circuit you get 10 volts but when you short it through the current meter it might be much less.

In your wiring drawing what was the resistor ohms and the diode ratings?

  • @erlendse
    @erlendse 6 років тому

Seems fair enough voltage and current wise (even you would have problems getting both at max at the same time)
The motor-driver output would be around 10V, and up to 2A (very driver dependent).
If you spin one HDD motor with another on a BLDC driver you can get enough power for some smaller light-bulbs.
I like how a some drivers(TDA5145) works a bit like a capacitor connected to a motor with some spinning mass!

nice , now connect a few motor/disks inline and shape the case to a generic tesla air/water/gas turbine with only two outlet through holes (so as to keep the disks firmly attached) and apply 30/40 psi to the inlet and you have a compact engine that can also take another external generator upto the optimal torque or even a small stirling engine running in cold driven mode to make easier hydrogen cooled storage for later use if you so wish...

As always, thanks so much for your informative videos. Quick question: given that this specific type of motor has to spin at such incredibly high rpm's, wouldn't you say this does not have much application for a DIY/renewable energy source? (ie. mounting blades on the plates for wind/hydro generation) Second question on that topic: in your opinion, what kind of inexpensive motor would work well for a small DIY wind generator configuration? I've read lots on treadmill DC motors and stepper motors, but wanted to get your opinion. Thanks again!

in order to measure the watts, you should have measured the voltage while you were measuring the amps (while the circuit was closed) otherwise if the circuit is open you will get a high voltage, but that will drop when under load.

from the looks of things you'd need hurricane wind speeds before you get even close to enough to run a 12 volt battery and even then you'd need it to go for hours on end before you charged up a battery... you could try putting it on a cog system, but they'd grind down from significant use and the catchers would also need to be pretty large... It's cool, but there are better methods of getting power...

    • @nokelclaa6291

a generic tesla air/water/gas turbine gets you way more speed than you really need here, so restrict the input to an optimal value through testing the whole integrated device you build.

Ludic Science I disagree, I've seen enough proof that magnets can produce work. There is an infinite possibility of combinations of magnet placement, types of metal coils used, size, etc. furthermore, the scientific community is a joke. They cannot comprehend WTC 7 collapsing, and they cannot comprehend that the earth is flat and motionless. You need to have a clear understanding of the flat and motionless earth to really get into energy research and succeed. Mainstream science is designed to lie and create people that cannot think outside the box. Free energy with magnets and metals can be achieved and many have accomplished it. I think an air circuit with a high antenna will produce a few free volts as well. Space and NASA is all fake, that is not real science. The earth curvature formula of 8 inches per mile squared is not observable in reality. We can see mountains over 200 miles away, there's a 102 mile long bridge in China, we can shine lasers across frozen ponds, pilots do not dip their nose down constantly to go around a curve, they fly level for thousands of miles. The evidence is all there that we are not spinning 1000mph too. People cannot think outside mainstream science ideas, they are lies to and brainwashed to think the wrong things. Magnets can produce motors that run and can charge batteries and assist themselves as well. Magnets are a free force we can use along with toroidal coils of metals to produce work.

This is the first time that I've seen a full-bridge rectifier made from discrete diodes for three-phase AC since three-phase AC is not commonly used for non-industrial purposes. I also haven't read much into the different kinds of motors used in various applications. Three-phase AC is supposed to be more efficient than what we are given for residential use, but I heard that an Oklahoma law now prevents new installations of three-phase for either commercial or residential use so you must use a transformer if you wish to use three-phase equipment. Here, a residential, three-phase line drop would be around 208V, but politicians in Oklahoma think three-phase is dangerous without considering the actual voltage of the drop because they are uneducated morons. They likely think it is 7kV or some weird, super dangerous voltage like 1MV (Mega Volt) coming into your home or business. I think the highest voltage for high tension lines is something like 500kV requiring huge transmission towers to keep the lines high off the ground and separated so electricity doesn't arc to the ground or the conductors. At any rate, that is pretty distant from what is used in a hard drive disk motor.

    • @ve2zzz

I tought it would be interesting to use three independant incadescent light bulbs in a Delta VS Wye configuration, sinc the HDD motor has its own Neutral connection (wire 1).
It would be a nice introduction to 3-phase power that is universally used by all power grids everywhere in the World.
