Before the last fight scene she also compare her daughter with the wilted flower and told that she is innocent and kind which is useless qualities to her.
In the JP ver. too. 17:50 She says 'honto no oyako' so real mother and child, and 'kenka suru' which the English localization only translated as argue but honestly it could range from an argument to a fight which makes sense why Peruere asked rhetorically after getting Clervie patched up. The Lumidouce Bell symbolizing Clervie was pretty on the nose as well with her Lumidouce Bell necklace.

So far Dottore is the only one who seems genuinely evil and cruel, but i have a feeling, that Zandik..was not evil. He was probably framed. Zandik worked at the Elezar hospital near Aaru village, a lot of people think he was conducting experiments(in the past) there..but maybe he was genuinely trying to help people and in the end ended up triggering some kind of taboo trying to find a cure to Eleazar(as you know Eleazar is related to abyssal knowledge and no traditional method can cure it.) and maybe he was at the cusp of breakthrough but he was framed and exiled? because we know that at that time Sumeru wasn't being overseen by Rukkhadevata and sages were corrupt AF.

I’m pretty sure the original Knave was not 4th rank but instead Arlecchino made the knave into the fourth rank. Because it doesn’t feel like that the original Knave was strong enough to be 4th rank. But Arlecchino on other hand possesses enormous power that made her into the fourth rank.

Interesting theory is that the girl in the 4.6 preview page, could possibly be her friend, but the question remains how is she alive if that is true.
