...This was my house. I lived in 252 Westfield ave. But then I moved right next door. the house which its burning on. It was such a tradety for me. Scarred me for life
i lived a 10 blocks away from that house and when my grandma went outside she told use that a house is on fire and i saw a big ass ball of smoke and fire.
Sadly until the US stops building cheap plywood and sticky tape houses almost every fire is going to be a total loss. The FD can only hope to save the neighbouring properties. Here in the UK developers are increasingly building cheap timber frame houses with a brick or blockwork outer skin. When they go on fire the spread is 2 to 3 times faster and the structure integrity is badly compromised. I know the UK is tiny compared to even a small state in the US but back in 1973 all town/city/volunteer fire departments were replaced with county departments. All training, vehicle specification and equipment was standardised so appliances can and sometimes are deployed hundreds of miles to the other end of the country.
