Hi all, apologies that the POP/STARS segment is muted, it was the only way I could keep this video up from being blocked 8 MONTHS after posting this reaction. You can watch the full unmuted reaction for free on my Patreon here: www.patreon.com/posts/re-upload-first-92807840 Out of nowhere, last week my video got manually copyright claimed and blocked by WMG claiming that I used "Popstars by Charli XCX" when obviously it's not Charli XCX?! And less than 12 hours after disputing the claim, WMG rejected the dispute, even though clearly it's not the same song. They probably just auto-reject any disputes. I could appeal it since clearly this is a false copyright claim, but I'd risk a copyright strike, and obviously WMG has a lot more power than I do. This is my most viewed video on my channel and so many creators get abused by the copyright claim system, so I wanted to keep this video up to allow people to still watch the rest / access it on my Patreon and to create awareness about how often this happens to creators with no real recourse. FWIW, I also posted my reaction to Villain, Drum Go Dum, and I'll Show You (which is not muted in any parts thankfully), you can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/U6Yl9oTtJC0/v-deo.html Thanks so much for watching and your understanding, sorry again about the muted part ❤
@@Gandorhar That doesn't make any sense, K/DA has nothing to do with Arcane. I mean yeah, POP/Stars was animated by Fotiche but all the other music-videos animations like More, VILLAIN etc. are done by different animation studios.
Some extra infos about the characters not mentioned in the wiki: You linked the pokemon Ninetales and Ahri because they're derivative from the same mythological creature from Japanese and Korean folklore, a Nine-tailed fox that can turn into beautiful women, usually lure men, live for centuries and have other kinds of powers. (Kitsune in japanese, can't remember in Korean) Ahri used to have a Pop Star skin before KDA and her costume is the one in the laundry basket! In the KDA lore Kaisa is a dancer who travelled all over the world with her father to learn all types of dances, while in canon she spent years away from her father, trapped in the Void. In canon, Evelynn is a succubus-like demon who feeds on agony and attracts her prays by shape-shifting and killing them while giving them the most pleasure. In KDA she's *assumed* to be a demon but she's rather a mistery... and she's linked to a series of boyfriends disappearing 😳 KDA Akali is also in another group, True Damage, which has another song called GIANTS. From that group, Yasuo (the DJ who is a swordsman in league) helped her and KDA produce the comeback album. The KDA fandom is called "Blades".
The Korean version is Kumiho or Gumiho. Chinese version is Huli Jing. The legend of the nine-tailed fox changes from culture to culture, but seems to share the shape shifting and luring ability.
I'm a sucker for the KD/A lore, especially Ahri's. The laundry scene and her solo video are super interesting, seeing her rising up, doubting herself, and finding other women who can hold each other up against the current of fear and hate and doubt. Her solo song ain't my fav by far, but, I feel it a lot. Plus, I played as Ahri on and off for a while, and love the in game character and the kitsune IRL lore.
baddest song is the original song by akali. thats why they can change the singer.. everyone in KDA have a personal song. Akali : The Baddest Ahri : I'll show you Kaisa : Drum go dum Evelyn : Villain Seraphine is a singer in the universe of LOL. she have so much music.. (not KDA) Sorry for my bad english, i hope u understand what i said..

A few quick suggestion: The live performance (opening 2018 world championship) for POP/STARS is worth watching and reacting to. Same goes for the behind the scenes vlogs with Soyeon and Miyeon to POP/STARS and MORE. MORE also has a dance performance (with Soyeon and Miyeon) with 1MILLION Dance studio. I even prefer that dance performance over the animated music video. Finally: League Of Legends and Riot Games is known for awesome (animated) "music videos" (often times for their annual world championships) collaborating with all kinds of musicians and animation studios. Thats how for example Imagine Dragons became linked with Riot Games and would later provide the title song for the Arcane show. Definitely watch the live "lol worlds" show from 2018, it is amazing. I'm stunned how young they all were to perform in front of such a huge crowd - Madison Beer was only 18! And you also asked if there is a behind-the-scenes video. There is, from Cube entertainment, and it shows Soyeon and Miyeon doing the motion capture for the show. Oh, and in addition to performing with True Damage for LoL as others have mentioned, Soyeon has just released another LoL song called Supercarry!
Villain is one of the solo songs for the group, which is just about that one character (so just sung by Madison Beer). As an easter egg, Kai'sa (the dancer) has a live action video instead. The dancer in it is Bailey, a tiktok dancer, and she is the mocap artist for K/DA's dance moves, so even if the video isn't Kai'sa, technically it still is, as Kai'sai is the kpop Main Dancer position, so it fits. IIRC, Akali's video is just words on a screen, which makes sense as she's the rapper and it's the words that are important. Ahri and Evelyn both have visual videos though, as Ahri is the leader/face, and Evelyn is the girl crush role. Normally K/DA's voices are the same, but some people weren't available at certain times. One of their last songs they sing with Seraphine as a guest, who is a character in the game that is actually promoted as a Chinese pop idle in the K/DA world. Lexie Liu is Seraphine in the song "More". She is not a member of K/DA, but a fellow musician who collaborates with them in the song. To explain in League of Legends terms....LoL is set in a fantasy world called Runeterra. You can buy 'skins' for every character in game to make them look different in game, some of which are themed in a way that they are technically a different timeline/multi verse version of the characters. In one reality, 4 of these characters are a multinational Kpop band known as K/DA.(Pop star Serapine is also from this world.) Our reality is another in the multi verse in which all 5 of these pop stars are "acted" by 5 real musicians.
You should totally check out the rest of the K/DA songs! Villain is my favorite, especially because Evelynn is my favorite K/DA member! I love her lore. Also, Seraphine has some separate songs of her own. They're all really good :)
It is my time to shine! Regarding the fifth character that appears in More: Her name is Seraphine! In the lore she's a singer from Piltover who is trying to mend the rift between Piltover and Zaun (you mentioned you had watched Arcane so you may be familiar with the regions. Fun Fact: in the original lore Caitlyn is actually a huge fan of Seraphine's music!) But back to K/DA, she's more like a collaborator with them rather than an actual member of the group (think Selena Gomez with Blackpink) and her initial release into league itself wasn't the best (issues with the lore that were more or less resolved, and her immediately getting an ultimate skin upon release, which is the most high quality you can get in league, caused her reputation to be permanently stained, making her one of the most hated champions in the game) Seraphine actually has some songs that I recommend listening to (namely her own cover of "Pop/stars" that is sung by Jasmine Clarke) and in the alternate universe that is K/DA, this is how Ahri discovers Seraphine and how the beginnings of the collaboration that would be More started. Hope this helped a bit if you end up reading
I did look at the lyrics and liked them but only after this video realized that they do indeed rhyme in both languages, the writing on these songs is genius! Thanks for making me aware of it, great reaction!
The "translation" of The Baddest is not the translation, they are different lyrics written for English, presumably to increase the engagement of English-speaking fans. You can even rap along in English, as it is (mostly) in the same meter. Sometimes the meanings coincide, but more often than not they are completely separate. Here's a comparison for the start of Soyeon's bit (Korean original, English subs, Translation; all errors are mine): K: Pretty face 걸어들어와 E, T: I walk in with a pretty face K: 유행 선두자 E: Make 'em want a taste T: A fashion leader K: 원하지만 못하잖아 E: Boy slow down, you gone have to wait T: You want it but you can't, can you K: 애가 타잖아 E: Dangling the bait T: You're nervous, aren't you K, E, T: You like “whoa” KALI you the goat K: 난 알지 I know E: I'm like "Yeah, I know" T: I know, I know K: 준비해 cause I like to ball E: Gotta bounce cause I like to ball T: Prepare yourself cause I like to ball K: 멈추지 않아 E: Man I'm on a roll T: I don't stop ... Similar with More: e.g. "넘쳐 흘러 more than a buffet" means "overflowing more than a buffet", not "I'm giving you more than a buffet". I almost feel like I should apologise for spilling the beans, you were so impressed by the translations rhyming, but I feel the songs are more than good enough to stand on their actual merits :D
@@joejoe8233 In 2022 they did buy a pretty big part of Fortiche tho. And 2 people from Riot is also on the Fortiche's board of directors. So yeah not the same company but they are very linked.
I'm glad you reacted to this, and happy that you liked it. K/DA's "Pop/Stars" helped set me on the path to discovering Kpop back in 2018. Though I've been a Kpop fan for a while now, I basically came at this from the other direction. I'm a lifelong gamer and discovered (G)i-dle because of K/DA. And then I found there was some other Kpop I like (including Dreamcatcher and Itzy). IMHO, Akali kinda steals the show in Pop/Stars... Though a lot of people really like Ahri for some reason. Most (or all?) of K/DA's other songs focus on a single character. "Villain" is Evelynn, "I'll show you" is Ahri, and "Drum go dum" is Kai'sa. And a reaction to all of those would be fun. The animation in "Villain" is amazing and all the songs are good. PS: Yes, I'm a millenial. Yes, I appreciated the buffy reference.
I loved this songs when they came out, Im a league of legend player and this was awesome, the opening ceremony with Pop Stars was crazy and cool. Thanks to KDA I looked for Gidle and now I love them and also Dreamcatcher is my ult xD (All thanks to this songs that made me look into kpop) If you want to look for other KDA songs, I recomend Villain and Drum go dum, also I`ll show you is wonderfull. I think thats all of their songs xD but all of them are cool. PD: Between these "comebacks" came out the song "GIANTS" with other singers but Soyeon maintaining her position as Akali rapper :)
K/DA was pretty much planned out by Riot and I definitely expect them to have a comeback sooner or later. In 2018 we had Pop/Stars. Then in 2019 we had True Damage which is a song with different artists but most importantly Akali is with them. So it kind of counts as a K/DA comeback. And in 2020 we had More and the entire EP. In the mean time there's been a ton of more songs that weren't about virtual groups (there's even one with Jackson Wang and it's absolute fire). While we didn't have a K/DA comeback in almost 3 years at least we didn't miss out on Riot music fully.
At 26:34, the translation for "시작하면끝을보는거야" is wrong for whatever reason. Mi-Yeon's character Ahri is roughly saying is "When you're beginning, you will see the ending." So if you re-watch that scene of what she is doing in the MV along with proper translation and the following lyrics, it will make more sense for the plot of the MV. So it will read kinda like this: ... All I'll ever know is life up on a throne 시작하면끝을보는거야 (When you're beginning, you will see the ending) You want More Know I got it, so here you go (let's go) You look like you could use some more (more) Know I got it and never runnin' low (low, oh) Yeah, I got more than enough, add it up and away (ay, ay) You know I got it like bomb-bomb, blow your mind Never givin' less and that's how it'll stay (ay, ay) You know I got it like all day, all the time. ... Her Energy ball is shown like a crystal ball of power where they can keep looping the future (that they want) over and over. This is to feed the viewers yearning for praise and to love them as the viewers keep wanting "more". That's why in the More MV, you will see certain repeated scenes as to hint that this has happened already. Also, if you pause carefully around 3:36 - 3:37 you see it rewind first to Seraphine before she leaves (going back in) and the back to the view of the city upside down from the start of the video. It rewinds itself to the beginning ready to play again to give you the viewer "more". This is how important this one line of lyrics in Korean was as it explains the MV plot. I have no idea why they would translate this wrong....
So with Popstars, the song is about how you'll never be as good as them etc... the camera in every single shot is dead center on the character and pulling back, away from them. Matching the tone of the lyrics. More has the camera again following the lyrics. When it says down, the camera drops, etc. They also spent a huge amount of time making it look like a legit music video was shot. They built out sets, support struts for lighting rigs and LED screens. It's done extremely well.
Some basics on league: it's a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). Each unique character has 3 skills, an ultimate ability, a passive ability and can get 6 items over a game. You play in matches usually lasting 30 - 45 mins. The map is a forest with 3 large roads to the enemy fortress. There's a river running through the middle of the map that cuts the roads at the half way mark between bases. The aim of the game is to destroy the enemy towers, inhibitors and then the nexus. The towers are placed in lanes either side of the river, half way to the river, outside the base each protecting an inhibitor and 2 guarding the nexus. The nexus spawns 6 - 7 minion units per lane regularly, and killing them grants xp to all players nearby, and grants gold to the player who finishes it. So, kill minions to level up to 18, 1 skill point per level on a skill of your choice, and gain gold to buy items that help your character. It's a strategy game, top down, right click the ground to move or attack. Create a set of items to overcome enemies, and change it up on the fly as you need. There's a lot more small rules and features that vary, and other game modes. The members of KDA are champions available to play in the game.
As you might be able to tell by my pfp I really love K/DA. Their music is absolute HEAT and they really need a comeback!!! We miss them, especially after not getting a cool love stage in 2020. Miss Rona destroyed everything.
To explain, I'm a League player. Miyeon is Ahri a Gumiho, a nine-tailed Fox. One of the playable champions in League of Legends. Soyeon is Akali, an Ionian champion in League of Legends Madison Beer is Evelynn a man eating demoness champion Jaira Burns is Kai'Sa who is a woman from the void, she's also another playable Champion and all of them represents different lanes. Kai'Sa is on the Duo/Bot lane Ahri can be in the mid or Duo lane as a support Evelynn is in the Jungle lane Akali is mid lane. Yeah, there are guns in-game but K/DA is meant to be set in our real world and is not canon to the actual game lore.
Oh yeah please check out the rest, because they’re all focus on each specific member of the group! I guess my favorite member in the group has to be Akali but as a character in game it’s Evelynn
bc you like soyeon you should check out true dmg, giants. its also a great animated league music video, and for sure react to villan probably my favorite of them.
Showrunner/Co-Creator Christian Linke of Arcane talking about their partner animation studio fortiche at time the project was halted because riot wasn't convinced of what they had at that point: " We knew that we wouldn't have work for them for the months to come, so we started talking to different teams at Riot and started asking people, "Hey, is there anything we can do, like a music video? Or..." anything that could just keep... the lights on at Fortiche. We talked to the Esports team and... there was a desire to make a music video... ...which became the "RISE" music video. And then we started talking to the Music team... and they were working on something, like, a crazy idea about a K-pop group. Thank God, Alex and I are shit at our jobs, because if we hadn't taken that extra time to develop the story, the "POP/STARS" music video and "RISE" music video would have never happened. " So a similar style to arcane makes sense, I guess^^
The "All I've ever known/is life upon a throne" lyrics in MORE that you didn't know the singer for was Madison Beer/Evelyn. And on that note add my vote to checking out Villain (Evelyn/Madison's solo song), which imo is the best of a bunch of great K/DA songs.
I started playing League because of K/DA, specifically because of Ahri (nine-tailed fox) and here I am now 5 years later just fangirling over them and seeing all reactions on YT
True Damage - Giants next!!! Same concept from Riot, different group but with Soyeon. And def MV and live stage because this was technological slay ngl
So, to make it clear.. *warning, a long paragraph Ahri is the leader of some sort, as she has a skin in the past that is a pop star, and i think she is the one who created the group.. *POP/STAR* is their "debut" single.. and in that K/DA universe, after they've done the debut, they stop for awhile (idk the word) the character akali in that universe, joined another group *True Damage* , for 1 song *GIANTS* Later on, they decided to get back together and make an album. The album consist of their main song, and their individual songs.. The main song is *MORE* and did a "collab" with another artist in that world called Seraphine.. Seraphine here is actually sang by a chinese singer, hence the chinese lyrics. then, for the individual songs are: - The Baddest (Akali) - I'll Show You (Ahri) - Drum Go Dum (Kaisa) - Villain (Evelynn) Each with their own unique style.. *THE BADDEST* , as the title implies that she is the baddest, and a rapping focused song.. hence the lyrics mv.. *I'LL SHOW YOU* , go on the route of KPOP more.. the song is upbeat, while the mv is depressing, has something to do with Ahri's story in that universe.. *DRUM GO DUM* , the most upbeat song here.. but instead of a animated mv, this one goes with a dance compilation mv.. sick moves i might say.. and last but not least, *VILLAIN* .. imo, the most graphical mv amongst all of em.. So much is going on here.. but damn the vocals are super.. I *suggest* , when you listen to *VILLAIN* , use headphones.. cuz there are parts where it gets wild.. and Evelynn is the most sadistic member, as all of her "dates" dissappear later on.. On their main songs, POP/STAR and MORE, these are the singers.. Akali : Soyeon Ahri : Miyeon Kaisa : Jaira Burns Evelynn : Madison Beer Seraphine : Lexie Lie
The one with ears is Ahri and she is a Kitsune (nine tailed fox) In Japanese folklore, kitsune are foxes that possess paranormal abilities that increase as they get older and wiser. once a fox reaches the age of 100, they gain the power of shapeshifting. The fox grows a new tail every century until they have nine, and the color of their fur will eventually change from red to gold and finally to white.

Yeah, I have the Original Prestige Edition Ahri K/DA skin, also Prestige K/DA Ahri (2022) skin; K/DA Akali, K;DA Evelyn, Seraphine K/DA All Out (Ultimate Skin) That... "tl;dr: K/DA ALL OUT Seraphine comes with: - 3 Unique Forms, 3 distinct songs. - Indie - This form features acoustic aesthetics, and will play Seraphine’s cover of K/DA’s POP/STARS. - Rising Star - With Seraphine’s own original song, 'Made Me This Way'. - Super Star - Finally reached the top, working with K/DA; Song: 'More'. *The more allies in range, the more the song builds and grows!* All of this is unlocked through the skin's questline." Okay, after realizing that I should explain some stuff, and this stuff its ALOT of stuff to explain... Just whatever. Btw, I dont play League for a couple years now. I just have it. So idk why, I dont even dare to question myself about it. PS: Oh, for real things, Ekko's t-shirt from True Damage - Giants; And the Akali's Cap from K/DA POP/STARS. The shirt I did never used, the cap is at one of my friends house, no idea which friend, tho. I'm not proud. Its silly and I can't keep spending money on silly things. Not proud at all.
Yes keep going! Giants was amazing. Alot of people already explained them below so I won't go into any explanations. Also...if you ever want to check out the cinematics for League, they are so insanely good with good music so that could be fun too!
I’ve watched these videos so many times, EVERYTIME Seraphine walks out on her high note to join the others, I get chills. I don’t know why. It’s just so cool! Also check out their solo songs, Evylin’s song Villain is AMAZING. 💜
You are going to laugh at me, but my intro to Idle was Yuqi´s Learn Way... I had to know more about that wacky Chinese girl. But yeah, this and Arcane have been the intro to many people to KPOP and Idle outside of Asia.
The augmented reality performance was done by creating a virtual replica of the physical stage (exact size, shape, etc). And then animating the 4 KDA members dancing the choreography on it. Lighting, reflections, etc. were done by matching the pre-programmed real world lighting cues. This was then taken and overlayed on top of the live action performance on the day of the openingt ceremony and shown on the large screen monitors. If you had a cell phone you could see them through there as well. They did this trick again at another world championships but the lighting was significantly different and didn't allow for shadowing or reflections which really disconnected the characters from the world. Nitpick: No one has ever done a hologram of a performer. Ever. 99% utilize reflection in a glass pane, a trick more than 100 years old called Pepper's Ghost.
The Arcane is one of the best adaptations made from the written version. Similar to the Lord of the Ring books and film trilogy; IT Chapter 1,2 identical to the book; Harry Potter saga; Dune,... But they are definitely working on other series from other regions, but they will have a different theme and a different series name. Spoilers about the story that I know about through contacts are quite interesting because they will prepare our characters for their journey so that we can finally see them in the positions of the stories in which they are now. The only thing I will say is that it is more than clear that we will be introduced to other characters and their stories and flashbacks. Plus, we should also get something smaller, more of what was actually between Mr. V. & Mr. S.,... And also League of legends Skin lines are alternate and parallel universes. I’m thinking that the English translation of the Korean is wrong, because in surfing’s official English version of the song it was, because in Sersphine‘s official English version of the song, it was different
Love the KDA stuff so much! Its actually what introduced me to Soyeon and Idle and Im so happy about it Edit: would LOVE to see you react to Villain. The song is incredible, but the animatiom is MIND BOGGLING. Definitely worth a watch on your own, if you dont do a react to it. Also, yes, I have all the KDA skins. Im actually a Seraphine (the new blue haired member) main in League, so her getting a KDA skin, and being added to the group, with the All Out release, was super exciting for me. Akali is my favorite member of KDA, but Im not a good Akali player in game lol
Would love to see your reaction to Villain (Evelynn's song). You should also watch the True Damage music video "Giants" -- Soyeon voices Akali in it as well, all though in a different group. It also features three languages :D
Warning: I don't think promoting achool drink is allowed in UA-cam policy term. I would make sure you are within the term of contract before people start reporting you. And if you are, point the section of UA-cam term of contracy that allow it, so people whom will want to report you can be syop before they become a bother.
Even beyond the K/DA the League music is pretty incredible. There's 3 different groups from the League universe - K/DA, True Damage, and Pentakill that each do their own genre of music - True Damage is hip-hop/rap, Pentakill is a Metal band. In addition, most champions in the game (there are currently 162 champions in the game) have their own theme, which is usually fairly orchestral in nature. Add on to that multiple music videos that have been created (Vi and Jinx from Arcane both have a music video), plus there are Anime-opening theme songs for some skin lines. It's a deep hole to fall in with League music.
Don't forget about the LEC!!! They put out some really fun music too! Riot is just a big talent and passion conglomerate. The fact that they can strike gold with nearly every swing is a testament to how much effort and care they put into what they do. Such a rare thing.
The animation style is actually on par with the kind of animation used in the game. The thing is though, it's a top-down game with a fixed camera (think something like Diablo or Hades) and the action is always very zoomed out. So a lot of the really beautiful animations in the game are only ever seen from that angle. It's still one of the things that I think League does very well compared to similar games in that genre, the characters are very expressive and well animated for the most part (older champions...well some of them aren't quite of that level of quality, but they're slowly fixing that problem by reworking them) It's why when people say that league looks nothing like Arcane, I can't entirely agree, because if you actually take the time to go through a character's animations and textures, that style is there. It's just that the game's format really doesn't lend itself to the same kind of experience/sense of adventure that the cinematics present. It's a competitive player vs player game in the end, not an adventure.
One you should react to is actually Akali's sub(?) group? Or maybe KD/A is the sub group. Anyways, Akali has her own music crew under the name True Damage. They have a LoL MV for the song Giants. Akali, Soyeon, is the only member from (G)I-dle in it if I recall correctly. Becky G is in at though so you have some Spanish parts in the song. Becky G also did the Chicken Noodle Soup song with J-Hope from BTS and a song with Cher Lloyd many years back. I'd include True Damage - Giants in the line up for LOL videos. Really it belongs there since it may have never happened without the success of KD/A.
Imho, the animation for Pop/Stars is better than the one for More. Fortiche wasn't available to animate More because they were already deep into production for Arcane. Whatever other studio animated More did a fine job, but not nearly an as artistic and detailed one as I'm used to from Fortiche. For example: Fortiche deliberately didn't use motion capture for Pop/Stars (even though it was recorded) because they wanted to be able to exaggerate proportions and movements to stylize the video. They also deliberately didn't put all 4 characters on the same rig when dancing as a group, meaning the added a ton of work to have the characters *not* dance perfectly in sync. This leads to the dancing in Pop/Stars feeling much more organic and "real" than the dancing in More, especially since More has some really awkward freeze-frames that you don't have in Pop/Stars because Fortiche took the time to clean up all frames by hand.
i think it’s bc soyeons flow changes depending on the genre of the song. k/da music is more beat and EDM heavy meanwhile gidles song genres changes from different concepts. i personally think rap just sounds “better” with a more with hip-hop and pop beat sound
i'm surprised you didn't realize this but the reason the song's rhyme when translated to english is because the people at RIOT who make the songs write the lyrics and they are english speakers. meaning the artists translated them and sang the translation, but the original lyrics are in english.
'so if you play league of legends, did you buy any of the skins and play as them?' my lawyer told me to stay silent, but i think my wallet would be a good witness to interogate for this crime...
Ninetales, Naruto/Kurama, Ahri, Kyubimon -> all Kitsunes or 9 tailed foxes. It's basically similar to a devil/demon/angel, etc. in Western media, any media that can have one will likely get one.(3 out of 4 phranchises mentioned here have an angel character in Angemon, Kayle, etc.) General rules for Kyuubi like characters, don't fuck with them. Sort of similar to a succubus. This is obviously a rather big generalization.
To think that a custom warcraft 3 map would fuel the ambition to create league of legends which would take the world by storm, basically make E-Sports global and then funnel money to great a virtual pop group. Reality is stranger than fiction
I do believe Riot Games intended on K/DA to be a one-off type deal but after the incredible success of pop/stars they decided to go even further and have a "comeback" with the group again with a full mini album including some other singers one of which being Twice on one of the songs.
Only thing that pisses me off about these group ideas... They never pick a solid team! One support, one marksman, one Jungle, One top, One mid! They missed the mark with Pentakill, their other band as well! Just make a full team pick riot and market that stuff!!!
Hi like your reaction .... if you liked this animation style you should watch some of the league of legends cinematics. I'd recommend "awaken" due to how realistic the animation is and how well the song links to the cinematic Edit: oh oh you must watch the kda lol world championship opening ceremony..... it's insane
If you're looking for more league content to react to I have two suggestions. The first is the original character band Pentakill, which is basically the heavy metal version of KDA. They have a music video out as well as a full cinematic album that was done as a live online concert. The second suggestion might be a bit more time consuming and isn't so obvious but I strongly suggest the This is War series by falconsheild. It's a fan made project where they take two areas from the game world and do rap battles with a collection of characters from each area. I think they're up to 8 now. They're really well done, cover a large amount of the character base and give a very good idea of the game and world. To make things easier, I suggest starting with This is War 2, as its piltover vs Zaun, which you're already somewhat familiar with due to Arcane. Just a thought.
Bog fan of KD/A. When POP/STARS premiered, I lot it. Played the song like 12 times a day for weeks. I don't even like kpop. Been into punk rock since I was 16, but, I played LoL since 2013, and it meant a lot to me. I was even following Seraphine when the "real" her was on Twitter. I thought it was awesome, seeing this girl getting famous and loving music, whilst, yes, she is adorable. When they added her as the guest on More, my mind melted. I even think I like More better than POP/STARS. O_o
I actually got to know about Twice because Cheer Up was very popular amoung League Of Legends players (and the professional Korean league the LCK has tons of players that love kpop. The most famous pro player Faker played with some BTS members). I've been playing LoL since 2012, I already played Evelyn and Akali and I bought the Akali KDA skin. Loved the videos and I can't wait for some Twice content.
Akali and Evelynn are some of the hardest champions to master in game, Ahri is mid whilst Kai’sa is pretty easy, I have their All Out Skins and I love them, I main Evelynn the most, then Seraphine, Kai’sa, Ahri and finally Akali. I’d definitely recommend watching the other songs and even Seraphine’s music I do recommend also to watch Worlds 2018 for popstars and 2019 for Giants for True Damage (fun fact true damage has 3 languages in their song too)
My fav charact is kai'sa i got her kda skin almost every skin i own from kda only missing a few. But afain my fav charact is kai'sa i kinda have a crush on her she is so tall so amazing cool and ofc pretty
Hi all, apologies that the POP/STARS segment is muted, it was the only way I could keep this video up from being blocked 8 MONTHS after posting this reaction. You can watch the full unmuted reaction for free on my Patreon here: www.patreon.com/posts/re-upload-first-92807840
Out of nowhere, last week my video got manually copyright claimed and blocked by WMG claiming that I used "Popstars by Charli XCX" when obviously it's not Charli XCX?!
FWIW, I also posted my reaction to Villain, Drum Go Dum, and I'll Show You (which is not muted in any parts thankfully), you can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/U6Yl9oTtJC0/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for watching and your understanding, sorry again about the muted part ❤
Have you considered reaching out to Riot and inform them that someone is claiming their songs on UA-cam? Might be worth a try.
we all agree that we need another K/DA comeback for this year, at least once.
KDA wont come back until arcane s2 is done if ever.
We actually need a boyband and since worlds is in Korea it would be fitting with champs like Aphelios, Sett, Ekko and Ezreal for example
@@Gandorhar That doesn't make any sense, K/DA has nothing to do with Arcane. I mean yeah, POP/Stars was animated by Fotiche but all the other music-videos animations like More, VILLAIN etc. are done by different animation studios.
@@Gandorhar Fortiche has done projects for Riot parallel to Arcane production already though
@@Gandorhar And the music production has nothing to do with the animation studio... they still could release singles
Some extra infos about the characters not mentioned in the wiki:
You linked the pokemon Ninetales and Ahri because they're derivative from the same mythological creature from Japanese and Korean folklore, a Nine-tailed fox that can turn into beautiful women, usually lure men, live for centuries and have other kinds of powers. (Kitsune in japanese, can't remember in Korean)
Ahri used to have a Pop Star skin before KDA and her costume is the one in the laundry basket!
In KDA she's *assumed* to be a demon but she's rather a mistery... and she's linked to a series of boyfriends disappearing 😳
KDA Akali is also in another group, True Damage, which has another song called GIANTS.
Kumiho in korean.
Akali : The Baddest
Ahri : I'll show you
Kaisa : Drum go dum
Evelyn : Villain
Seraphine is a singer in the universe of LOL. she have so much music.. (not KDA)
Sorry for my bad english, i hope u understand what i said..
But The Baddest s not a solo, I don't think it is right to call it 'Akali's personal song'.
@@AryaLux i didt say “solo song” -__-
@@Anticard Yeah, and I never assumed you said that, the things you *actually* said are quoted.
It's just hard to think of The Baddest as Akali's when she isn't the only singer, unlike those other songs. I never had the idea before.
@@AryaLux Baddest is supposed to be Akali's personal song, you're being pretentious and stupid at the same time. Next time don't say anything...

In one reality, 4 of these characters are a multinational Kpop band known as K/DA.(Pop star Serapine is also from this world.)
Our reality is another in the multi verse in which all 5 of these pop stars are "acted" by 5 real musicians.
You should totally check out the rest of the K/DA songs! Villain is my favorite, especially because Evelynn is my favorite K/DA member! I love her lore. Also, Seraphine has some separate songs of her own. They're all really good :)
Villain is on another level fr. I play League and it really captures her whole lore personality. STRAIGHT UP EVELYN
@@charm7707 Eve mains unite wooo

It is my time to shine! Regarding the fifth character that appears in More:
Her name is Seraphine! In the lore she's a singer from Piltover who is trying to mend the rift between Piltover and Zaun (you mentioned you had watched Arcane so you may be familiar with the regions. Fun Fact: in the original lore Caitlyn is actually a huge fan of Seraphine's music!) But back to K/DA, she's more like a collaborator with them rather than an actual member of the group (think Selena Gomez with Blackpink) and her initial release into league itself wasn't the best (issues with the lore that were more or less resolved, and her immediately getting an ultimate skin upon release, which is the most high quality you can get in league, caused her reputation to be permanently stained, making her one of the most hated champions in the game)
Seraphine actually has some songs that I recommend listening to (namely her own cover of "Pop/stars" that is sung by Jasmine Clarke) and in the alternate universe that is K/DA, this is how Ahri discovers Seraphine and how the beginnings of the collaboration that would be More started. Hope this helped a bit if you end up reading
I did look at the lyrics and liked them but only after this video realized that they do indeed rhyme in both languages, the writing on these songs is genius! Thanks for making me aware of it, great reaction!
KDA Villain SMASHES hard like by far my Fave its just SOOOO GOOD another good one by KDA is Called Drum Go Dum which is banging
The "translation" of The Baddest is not the translation, they are different lyrics written for English, presumably to increase the engagement of English-speaking fans. You can even rap along in English, as it is (mostly) in the same meter. Sometimes the meanings coincide, but more often than not they are completely separate. Here's a comparison for the start of Soyeon's bit (Korean original, English subs, Translation; all errors are mine):
K: Pretty face 걸어들어와
E, T: I walk in with a pretty face
K: 유행 선두자
E: Make 'em want a taste
T: A fashion leader
K: 원하지만 못하잖아
E: Boy slow down, you gone have to wait
T: You want it but you can't, can you
K: 애가 타잖아
E: Dangling the bait
T: You're nervous, aren't you
K, E, T: You like “whoa” KALI you the goat
K: 난 알지 I know
E: I'm like "Yeah, I know"
T: I know, I know
K: 준비해 cause I like to ball
E: Gotta bounce cause I like to ball
T: Prepare yourself cause I like to ball
K: 멈추지 않아
E: Man I'm on a roll
T: I don't stop
...

Soyeon is another League of Legend group - True Damage with a song called Giants
I loved this songs when they came out, Im a league of legend player and this was awesome, the opening ceremony with Pop Stars was crazy and cool. Thanks to KDA I looked for Gidle and now I love them and also Dreamcatcher is my ult xD (All thanks to this songs that made me look into kpop)
If you want to look for other KDA songs, I recomend Villain and Drum go dum, also I`ll show you is wonderfull.

So it will read kinda like this:
...
All I'll ever know is life up on a throne
시작하면끝을보는거야 (When you're beginning, you will see the ending)
You want
More
Know I got it, so here you go (let's go)
You look like you could use some more (more)
Know I got it and never runnin' low (low, oh)
Yeah, I got more than enough, add it up and away (ay, ay)
You know I got it like bomb-bomb, blow your mind
Never givin' less and that's how it'll stay (ay, ay)
You know I got it like all day, all the time.
Soyeon is Akali, an Ionian champion in League of Legends
Madison Beer is Evelynn a man eating demoness champion
Jaira Burns is Kai'Sa who is a woman from the void, she's also another playable Champion and all of them represents different lanes.
Kai'Sa is on the Duo/Bot lane
Ahri can be in the mid or Duo lane as a support
Evelynn is in the Jungle lane
Akali is mid lane.
Showrunner/Co-Creator Christian Linke of Arcane talking about their partner animation studio fortiche at time the project was halted because riot wasn't convinced of what they had at that point:
"
We knew that we wouldn't have work for them for the months to come,
so we started talking to different teams at Riot
and started asking people,
"Hey, is there anything we can do, like a music video? Or..."
anything that could just keep...
the lights on at Fortiche.
We talked to the Esports team and...
there was a desire to make a music video...
...which became the "RISE" music video.
And then we started talking to the Music team...
and they were working on something, like, a crazy idea about a K-pop group.
Thank God, Alex and I are shit at our jobs,
because if we hadn't taken that extra time to develop the story,
the "POP/STARS" music video and "RISE" music video would have never happened.
"
So a similar style to arcane makes sense, I guess^^
The "All I've ever known/is life upon a throne" lyrics in MORE that you didn't know the singer for was Madison Beer/Evelyn.
And on that note add my vote to checking out Villain (Evelyn/Madison's solo song), which imo is the best of a bunch of great K/DA songs.
I started playing League because of K/DA, specifically because of Ahri (nine-tailed fox) and here I am now 5 years later just fangirling over them and seeing all reactions on YT
soyeon always slays.
True Damage - Giants next!!! Same concept from Riot, different group but with Soyeon. And def MV and live stage because this was technological slay ngl
WAS JUST GOING TO SAY THAT!
So, to make it clear.. *warning, a long paragraph
Ahri is the leader of some sort, as she has a skin in the past that is a pop star, and i think she is the one who created the group..
*POP/STAR* is their "debut" single.. and in that K/DA universe, after they've done the debut, they stop for awhile (idk the word)
the character akali in that universe, joined another group *True Damage* , for 1 song *GIANTS*
Later on, they decided to get back together and make an album.
The album consist of their main song, and their individual songs..
The main song is *MORE* and did a "collab" with another artist in that world called Seraphine..
Seraphine here is actually sang by a chinese singer, hence the chinese lyrics.
then, for the individual songs are:
- The Baddest (Akali)
- I'll Show You (Ahri)
- Drum Go Dum (Kaisa)
- Villain (Evelynn)
Each with their own unique style..
Akali : Soyeon
Ahri : Miyeon
Kaisa : Jaira Burns
Evelynn : Madison Beer
Seraphine : Lexie Lie
The one with ears is Ahri and she is a Kitsune (nine tailed fox) In Japanese folklore, kitsune are foxes that possess paranormal abilities that increase as they get older and wiser. once a fox reaches the age of 100, they gain the power of shapeshifting. The fox grows a new tail every century until they have nine, and the color of their fur will eventually change from red to gold and finally to white.
The live version of Pop/Stars is jaw dropping. And there is a behind the scenes video with Soyeon and Miyeon which shows the motion capture technique.

Yeah, I have the Original Prestige Edition Ahri K/DA skin, also Prestige K/DA Ahri (2022) skin; K/DA Akali, K;DA Evelyn,
Seraphine K/DA All Out (Ultimate Skin) That...
"tl;dr: K/DA ALL OUT Seraphine comes with:
- 3 Unique Forms, 3 distinct songs.
*The more allies in range, the more the song builds and grows!*
All of this is unlocked through the skin's questline."
Okay, after realizing that I should explain some stuff, and this stuff its ALOT of stuff to explain...
14 Lux Skins (The ultimemate one with 10 different forms)
WHY I DO THIS TO MYSELF????????
Yes keep going! Giants was amazing. Alot of people already explained them below so I won't go into any explanations. Also...if you ever want to check out the cinematics for League, they are so insanely good with good music so that could be fun too!
I’ve watched these videos so many times, EVERYTIME Seraphine walks out on her high note to join the others, I get chills. I don’t know why. It’s just so cool!
Also check out their solo songs, Evylin’s song Villain is AMAZING.
💜
This was my introduction to Soyeon, and dragged me down the I-DLE path! =)
You are going to laugh at me, but my intro to Idle was Yuqi´s Learn Way... I had to know more about that wacky Chinese girl.
But yeah, this and Arcane have been the intro to many people to KPOP and Idle outside of Asia.
Same!
Same for me!
@@NemosNotes I thought this was a rare occasion finding Idle from K/DA
Arcane Season 1 is here and the next one is coming soon.
ua-cam.com/video/Nu9HTOIUxLk/v-deo.html
PS Arcane is a series from League of Legends that deals and will only deal with Shurimans Port City [Kha'Zhun / Osha Va'Zaun] ==> Piltover and Zaun.
With stories this good, sometimes it's a much better champion story than in LOL. ;)
Well Spirit Guard Udyr, Spirit Blossom and Ruination skin champions are Canon.
Riot Games has Games under it
League of Legends-LOL ; Teamfight Tactics-TFT ; League of Legends: Wild Rift - LOL WL ; Legends of Runeterra-LOR ; Valorant
LOL,TFT,LOL WL have nothing to do with today's and even with the old Summoners Rift stories
What concerns the characters still on the old map in the style of Warcraft and similar games from that time and the relationship of the character being played with the Summoner = Player of the game = us.
Valorant is already completely out of the question, it's something like Overwatch from Blizzard and similar, with the fact that here in Valorant it's about parallel worlds,...
LOR is the world building of Runeterra and similar to the voice line champions cinematics and Some are part Canon.

And Studio Riot Forge, which creates Canon games as a fun way to discuss and build Runeterra.

I’m thinking that the English translation of the Korean is wrong, because in surfing’s official English version of the song it was, because in Sersphine‘s official English version of the song, it was different
Love the KDA stuff so much! Its actually what introduced me to Soyeon and Idle and Im so happy about it
Edit: would LOVE to see you react to Villain.
It's still one of the things that I think League does very well compared to similar games in that genre, the characters are very expressive and well animated for the most part (older champions...well some of them aren't quite of that level of quality, but they're slowly fixing that problem by reworking them)
It's why when people say that league looks nothing like Arcane, I can't entirely agree, because if you actually take the time to go through a character's animations and textures, that style is there.
Definitely have to check out Villian!
New K/DA songs will be released this year, since the finals for league of legends is in Korea
Amo elas!!
Eh.. extremely not an interesting reaction and in general as if you've already seen it ((
hot take but i personally like soyeon's raps better as akali than in idle
bye
i think it’s bc soyeons flow changes depending on the genre of the song. k/da music is more beat and EDM heavy meanwhile gidles song genres changes from different concepts.
i personally think rap just sounds “better” with a more with hip-hop and pop beat sound
You seriously has to reac Villain by Evelynn
i'm surprised you didn't realize this but the reason the song's rhyme when translated to english is because the people at RIOT who make the songs write the lyrics and they are english speakers. meaning the artists translated them and sang the translation, but the original lyrics are in english.
'so if you play league of legends, did you buy any of the skins and play as them?'
my lawyer told me to stay silent, but i think my wallet would be a good witness to interogate for this crime...
And the backstage video of them creating the video with motion capture video. ua-cam.com/video/8b2DjJ5iVgI/v-deo.html
Another musical band in the League of Legends universe: True Damage - ua-cam.com/video/sVZpHFXcFJw/v-deo.html
I play as evelynn in LOL and I got one of the K/DA skins, the MORE skin for evelynn specifically, for free off of a free skin roll XD
i suggest to watch K/DA Villain, the one with Madison Beer (and one more singer, i forgot who)
Ninetales, Naruto/Kurama, Ahri, Kyubimon -> all Kitsunes or 9 tailed foxes. It's basically similar to a devil/demon/angel, etc. in Western media, any media that can have one will likely get one.(3 out of 4 phranchises mentioned here have an angel character in Angemon, Kayle, etc.)
General rules for Kyuubi like characters, don't fuck with them. Sort of similar to a succubus. This is obviously a rather big generalization.
Lexie liu as seraphine... Tbh some of korean fan dislike seraphine cuz she's chinese and while kda supposed to be kpop idol (virtual kpop idol)..
To think that a custom warcraft 3 map would fuel the ambition to create league of legends which would take the world by storm, basically make E-Sports global and then funnel money to great a virtual pop group.
Reality is stranger than fiction
I'll be honest I love K/DA but I only really like Pop/Stars. I remember when it was released, the entire community went crazy it was amazing
Nevertheless, the best League of Legends related video is this one: ua-cam.com/video/9IKH6FSWXcI/v-deo.html
Drum go dum is my favorite as I main Kai'sa in the game. but villain definitely hits hard.
react to villain...., awaken its not kda but its from the same game its worth to see, and finaly enemy play by imagine dragons song from arcane.
Hi like your reaction .... if you liked this animation style you should watch some of the league of legends cinematics. I'd recommend "awaken" due to how realistic the animation is and how well the song links to the cinematic
Edit: oh oh you must watch the kda lol world championship opening ceremony..... it's insane
Seraphine Is Voiced By Lexie Liu In More .. But The Song More Is By KDA ft. Seraphine
I hope we get to see you react to the other KDA songs, especially Villain!
well, i've already played it. and i usually use Kai'sa because i love marksman.
POP/STARS will forever hold a special place in my heart as the song that first got me paying attention to KPop
Evelynn is my main character, you really should react to Villain mv
i never bought any of these but i will occasionally roll into them, i did however get ahri as my first ever character in the game.
What... The hell... Am I doing here?
Korelev is going to punish me for this.
The dance in popstar is actually great because they're out of sync by some millisecond
i just wish kda would comeback this year but theyre probably never coming back
i love seeing people hearing/seeing KD/A... i can't wait
as rainych hard fans, rainnych KDA pop star is criminaly underated.
Unfortunately, Seraphine is one of the most hated character in LoL.
Just a thought.
tell me she just didn't say THE NINETAIL A POKEMON lol
some of the lyrics are also related to their in game abilities
I hope you do villain. It's my second favorite
the shroud is correct. its one of her abilities.
Reacción a soyeon event mama and mmt
I remember this from other side (who should know knows)
if you like kda look true damage, another lol music group
Bog fan of KD/A. When POP/STARS premiered, I lot it. Played the song like 12 times a day for weeks. I don't even like kpop. Been into punk rock since I was 16, but, I played LoL since 2013, and it meant a lot to me.
I was even following Seraphine when the "real" her was on Twitter. I thought it was awesome, seeing this girl getting famous and loving music, whilst, yes, she is adorable. When they added her as the guest on More, my mind melted. I even think I like More better than POP/STARS. O_o
Please react to the live performance!
yeahhhh ... just a heads up, the blue haired character is universally hated, by like ... everyone 😂
why?
I actually got to know about Twice because Cheer Up was very popular amoung League Of Legends players (and the professional Korean league the LCK has tons of players that love kpop. The most famous pro player Faker played with some BTS members).
I've been playing LoL since 2012, I already played Evelyn and Akali and I bought the Akali KDA skin.
Loved the videos and I can't wait for some Twice content.
YAS. Watch everything!
Akali and Evelynn are some of the hardest champions to master in game, Ahri is mid whilst Kai’sa is pretty easy, I have their All Out Skins and I love them, I main Evelynn the most, then Seraphine, Kai’sa, Ahri and finally Akali.
I’d definitely recommend watching the other songs and even Seraphine’s music
I do recommend also to watch Worlds 2018 for popstars and 2019 for Giants for True Damage (fun fact true damage has 3 languages in their song too)
As for Ahri in the laundromat, the clothing is a callback to previous skins and outfits she used.
My fav charact is kai'sa i got her kda skin almost every skin i own from kda only missing a few. But afain my fav charact is kai'sa i kinda have a crush on her she is so tall so amazing cool and ofc pretty
