Have the full set of CD releases, including signed copies of Fairydust, Spare and Gram. The first “indie” band I ever got into at age 13 in 1991. Went to their farewell/final show at The Annandale (fitting venue) and their first Big Day Out performance in 1992, where they were the first ever BDO performance of all time in Sydney - they are missed as is the 90’s live music scene in inner Sydney. It’s now vanished. Never understood how they caught the “Shoegazer” moniker from some media outlets though…
Thanks! I've been searching for this song for years! I watched them open for Hoodoo Gurus in Brisbane in about 92/93. I used to have it on a compilation cassette that had The Falling Joys, Alice In Chains and Tumbleweed on it. I can't remember the name of it and it annoys me. Had a song called "Lisa" on it and I cannot for the life of me remember who sang it!
@@colujomes I still have it on tape - great comp - growing up in a small town with no alternative stations - it introduced me to so many bands - Welcome Mat were on of the endless great bands from that time!
My favourite Sydney band in the early 90s - I had Spare on cassette (still have it) on hi rotation in my car.

Wow! This takes me back. I can fondly remember naming this song at an Annandale Hotel sound check.

It was Street Legal, put out by Video Smash Hits in 1992. 'Lisa' was by Dead Flowers, who I think were from New Zealand.
