Man my drawing are not even on this level, and I'm currently 18. I'm keep looking at your videos and try to improve my skills to get up great comic and manga quality. Thank you for having these great videos up.
Agreed! It would be a great challenge to see how you would improve it after so many years. Anyone thank you for sharing this it is good insight and even encouraging to people starting or wanting to start their own comic. Cheers
This is so well made! Even for a 12 year old, so amazing!!! I remember i used to draw dragon ball inspired drawings when i was 12 xD i really enjoyed your comic!!
This well-kept comic drawn by your 12-year old self is AWESOME! It took some determination and imagination to conceptualize, draw and complete a comic book at such a young age. I loved it and this video! It’s always nice having a story read to you.😄👍. Hope you’re feeling better.
Mark I'm sure it would be too much to ask with how busy you are, but maybe for a future video you might consider recreating one of these old childhood characters years later with all you've learned?
I love the cleverness of the cover! The switching of their legs, almost like The Whirlwind got what he actually wanted and stole his legs from Metal Ring! Only to find out it was only fantasy and Metal Ring wins in the end!
I was like you, starting with comics in third grade, but they were so rushed that they made no sense and were hard to tell what they were lol. Now I am working on my first major comic since then, a series inspired by Initial D and Fast and Furious, called Faster than Ludicrous. It was a big step up for me, my characters and cars coming naturally to draw, and I can draw good backgrounds based on real locations. The only problem: It’s on notebook paper...
Man I wish I was able to draw like that when I was twelve, just too busy with my pokemon obsession. I also wish I could draw lips right...it looks like a bratz doll 😂
I actually quite enjoyed laughing along with you in this video. XD Some of the cliches and story inconsistencies are hilarious, but I still think these drawings are pretty impressive for a twelve-year-old.
Wow your drawing skills are amazing! I hope I could someday draw like this. You see, I have this amazing story I want to turn into a comic. My only problem is that my drawing sucks XD.
Was checking out my old drawings while cleaning my cupboard and i found a 3 issue-series comic book...started cringing immediately....after a while i got this notification and freaked out lmao
To be fair, for an 11-12 year old, this is really impressive. Panel layouts aren't 100% and there's far too much text, but you obviously had a knack for comic books early on. But then again, I guess this is exactly why you grew up to do this professionally.
I got two or your books years ago Brody's Ghost 1 and 2. And now I'm looking into getting the others because I've become more interested in collecting graphic novels, manga etc. However why are they so expensive especially issue 3. I can't fine them for under £15. Did they go out of print or something? Edit: Found some for a good price on amazon. I still can't afford them for now though I'm a poor ass uni student. Hopefully I'll get them soon though.
I have an entire whole universe of magic, suspense, wonder, kaiju, sci-fi, fantasy, and of course, superheroes, just waiting to be written and drawn by me! Too bad it takes me about half an hour, maybe more, to draw a face, and even longer to draw a face I’m satisfied with....... Oh, and it takes me even longer to draw all of the other parts of the body(torso, arms, forearms, hands, fingers, toes, legs, shins, feet). Oh well, I guess I’ll just keep doing YT animation until I can draw any human near perfectly in many art styles and poses................................................................................ By the way, if I actually can get my ideas and universes and stories turned into books and franchises, I call the Titles: *Knight Watchers, Godzilla: Triumphant, And Superhero. Especially Superhero.* Ok, sorry for wasting your time!
That level of drawing skills, planning, storytelling, paneling and what not at the age of 12??? I feel 100 years behind rn.
Your drawing skills at 12 are better than mine right now
I know right! Same
Beaver boy comic
Listen to 12:05
You must be really bad
R/woooosh
Even as a 12 year old you drew very well. I was about the same age when I tried drawing comics.
Impressive artwork for a 12 year old.
You should do a reboot of "The Metal Ring"...
You should bring him back and draw him as you would today.
Man my drawing are not even on this level, and I'm currently 18. I'm keep looking at your videos and try to improve my skills to get up great comic and manga quality. Thank you for having these great videos up.
Thank for giving us a video even though you have a cold Mark. Get better soon.
You should remake this with better writing and your amazing art skills!
Agreed! It would be a great challenge to see how you would improve it after so many years. Anyone thank you for sharing this it is good insight and even encouraging to people starting or wanting to start their own comic. Cheers
Sir could you please share a vedio tutorial of a photo which i send you ?? Plzz
Your lettering was better at the age of 12 than mine is at 28.
I practice it some, but apparently it hasn't made much of a difference. ~_~
Practice makes perfect
I can imagine a little tiny Mark drawing this with all his inspiration on cool action superheroes. So cute.
You’ve inspired so many for so many years, thank you for educating and entertaining artists 💕
It's actually true, I owe him everything I know in anime art 😍
I liked how the cover is featuring the hero getting defeated
Hey, the art's pretty decent for a twelve-year-old, and the writing's just delightfully cheesy enough to be enjoyable.
It’s like the golden age of comics
This is so well made! Even for a 12 year old, so amazing!!! I remember i used to draw dragon ball inspired drawings when i was 12 xD i really enjoyed your comic!!
The way you did the comic title has given me an idea for a comic
My first comic was good too. It's funny to revisit old artwork and writing. Nice video
I think I lost my comic books from when I was 12.... your stuff is way better lol.
beatrix the great same. I wish I still had my old comics so I can see my progress
This well-kept comic drawn by your 12-year old self is AWESOME! It took some determination and imagination to conceptualize, draw and complete a comic book at such a young age. I loved it and this video! It’s always nice having a story read to you.😄👍. Hope you’re feeling better.
You drew that well at 12? That's it. I give up.
Your drawing when you were 12 are pretty amazing for 12 year old , I was just drawing stick figures when I was 12 lol!
Truly spectacular narration 😊
Dude i love this drawing style
This looks like a genuine classic comic
I like how Metal Ring just gets over the murder of his boss so quickly
I always have the drawings come out of the panels. I like it for some reason.
Great Mark ✨

It would be cool if you'd redo this for a direct comparison, would be interesting

Mark I'm sure it would be too much to ask with how busy you are, but maybe for a future video you might consider recreating one of these old childhood characters years later with all you've learned?

I noticed the cover actually shows "Whirl Wind" with "Metal Ring's" legs....you were foreshadowing the plot.....Nice !
Not bad for being 12 years old. I've been writing stories since I was 12 in a half and drew the covers as well.
My God ! You started creating comics from your very early age ! Oh... You are really great ! That's the true artist ! 😎🙌
That's amazing actually
I was like you, starting with comics in third grade, but they were so rushed that they made no sense and were hard to tell what they were lol.

Awesome video
Pretty cool
I loved how Mark rusted himself the whole video.
I actually quite enjoyed laughing along with you in this video. XD Some of the cliches and story inconsistencies are hilarious, but I still think these drawings are pretty impressive for a twelve-year-old.
You were really intelligent at that age for this story...... And you being able to draw the facial expression so well
Hey Mark you should draw the crown clown Allen Walker, that would be awesome
As others have said - for a 12 yr old, that is some really nice comic art. 👍👍
WOW!!!
You were the first youtuber I watched on how to draw comics better.
Even the 12 year old u had a good sense of humour 😊 Interesting story! Really enjoyed it! :D
Wow your drawing skills are amazing! I hope I could someday draw like this. You see, I have this amazing story I want to turn into a comic. My only problem is that my drawing sucks XD.

I was only reading comics at age 12. 😔
I have an entire whole universe of magic, suspense, wonder, kaiju, sci-fi, fantasy, and of course, superheroes, just waiting to be written and drawn by me!
