Got both on my e glide standard loud as hell pipes and Bitchin stereo sound bar is awesome I’m referring it to my friend he has a rocker c and I think this will work good for him
I see a Road Glide in your future. You've already got the saddlebags, tour pack, windscreen and now a stereo. It's coming old man, the geezer glide is coming!!!
NBT 3 it happens to all of us. When I got on my first bagger I was like WTF have you been thinking dummy!!! Never looked back. I ride 40,000mi year round border to border and ocean to ocean and party my ass off every chance I get. Nothing compares to the geezer glide for comfort and ride quality.
Ironic you say that. I had a sportster, went to a bagger for 2 years, and went back to a sportster. I was comfortable on the bagger on long trips but I could never get to comfortable on it around town and the weight was always a bit much. Luckily for me I got rid of the bagger and didn't lose as much money as I thought I would have.
Jacob James as far as riding around town a little bar hopper like a sporty is fine. But if you wanna log any miles a bagger is the only way to go. I ride 30-40K miles a year and will ride nothing but and have had the sporty, Dyna and Softail. Nothing like a bagger when it comes to comfort and everything else.
How did you like it man? Torn between this and steel horse audios pods which is like $700!! But i only want to buy a set once and like it so if i gotta put up the bucks i don’t mind just want to enjoy them and hear it well
John Maxwell I have been shop n these for my 13 FatBoy for a while torn between pods and HDs boom and this one . I don’t have the money obviously for H-D so this one and pods were my options . With that said You have sold me my brother on this . Thanks so much for all you do for us Riders . This will sound an look so good head n down to Biketober . Keep it up . Ride on .
Most of the time I like the tunes. Sometimes its nice just hearing the bike rumble. Have Kuryakan Road Thunder pods, they work well. Nice having volume and function control at my thumb.
Just noticed...Congrats On 100K !! I still love to hear the old v-twin thump...might be getting old. Have friends who blast the tunes, so to each they're own
I love music almost as much as my M8 Road Glide. When I listen to music on the bike I listen through a $60 set of earbuds. I love my eardrums, too, and years of riding through the wind has taken its toll. Besides, I really don't like to pull up to or along side a vehicle that has a sound system thumping and blaring in everyone's ears.
Simon Clark I have to agree, I had tried a Streetglide for a bit and noticed that I wasn't paying as much attention to the road and the ride. Decided on the RK and love the wind on my body and my mind on the road.
Interesting, I’ve never considered fitting anything like that to my bike, until now! I do prefer to ride without music most of the time but I’m also with you on the opinion that there’s a time and a place for music sometimes and I love to listen to music when riding sometimes. Thanks for the review man.
Wow, been a while since I had time to catch up on your videos, but damn your channel grew fast, John... 100k🤘 Congrats, brother!! Here's to the next 100k 🥃
Had one for almost two years now on my 2017 Softail (no fairing), over 20k miles. You can hear it great at slow speeds. At high speeds, with a 1/2 or 2/4 helmet, it is almost useless. One thing you didn't mention is that how well the music is mastered is a great factor; older CD's copied to your phone will provide a sound that is not too great. It looks great on my ride and am pleased with it.
The one you have is the older 150w version, too. This is the new 300w. Honestly, I didn’t even think about folks copying music to their phone. I’ve been rocking iTunes/pandora/Spotify for so long I didn’t even think about that! You are 100% correct, though!
I bought the JBL cruise speakers for my bike after seeing it on youtube . Great sounding even at 70mph +/- without a windshield. But then after being on for more than 2 hours continuously at max volume it started clipping and getting really hot and then it went into protection mode and turned itself off. Disappointed with the speakers. Decided to just mount an use it on the Honda Ruckus scooter. Bought me a Shoei NeoTech II and that's the best investment I made for tunes and protection. Always great to see your reviews John.
I often ride with music playing through headphones... one of the most amazing feelings I've had when riding is black label society's rendition of "America the Beautiful" coming on

That’s a good video, I always wondered about this speakers, Jhon did you have to take of the windshield bag/pouch to have room for the speaker, or you just did not need it any more?

Every time i slow down or speed up in the 2-3k rpm range it shakes pretty bad. Any clue? Front engine mount? Its an 01 super-glide sport with the 88". Thanks man! Great video!
Could be that front motor mount. starts to sag eventually. Between the top of the rubber and the bottom of the metal plate of that mount should be .030-.050”
Wow,,,,where do I start? Good video and although I have a 2019 Road Glide Special,,,,I rarely listen to radio, maybe on a lonely road on a long trip. I feel a loud radio in the city or at a stop light is an invasion of someone else's privacy,,(some cage drivers and pedestrians hate us enough already) saw a biker yesterday on his Yamaha 650, cut off pipes, revving the engine, a small add on radio blasting wide open fuzzy music through bad speakers mounted on his handlebars, people eating at an outside restrauant covered their ears! Also a lot going on, with all the buttons to push with hands off controls and eyes off the road. Joe Zednick Ocala Fl.
Thanks for the video. Have been eying this speaker for a couple of months but hadn't seen any reviews on it. Saw a lot of reviews on the 150 watt speaker that stated at highway speeds there were sound issues. Looks like you removed your windshield bag. Was wondering if there is I way to mount it and keep the bag. I have the same model bike and use the bag a lot.
I was pretty bummed about the bag. My handlebar/clutch cable routing is a bit of an issue for me. I think I can make it better, but everything got installed about 2 days before Daytona! I haven’t had time to revisit everything.
John thanks for the great vlog. This setup will be perfect for my 15 Heritage. I would say 50 50 sometimes Music sometimes not. Be Cool and Ride Safe🇺🇸🏍 Thanks Again.
Music in the helmet via Sena, with speaker placement being crucial..... gives you the separation that's hard to hear with any external system on a motorcycle. Plus Mrs. Johanson on her way to the YWCA rummage sale, sitting in the lane next to you at the light won't gag.
Hey, great video, a friend of mine rides with a waterproof Bose speaker. Now if I may ask a question for your tech opinion. I’ve got an 08 Ultra Glide Classic, bought in January, in Buffalo, so it was stored. that the dealer just delivered the bike, Monday. Battery is nearly dead next day. Having a hard time getting it into neutral, and even when I start it with the clutch in the bike lurches forward. Yesterday there was smoke coming out of the left side of the engine behind the block. Definitely electrical. The dealers gonna pick it up. Any hear of anything like this?
Hey John. I have the same speaker for almost a year now on my 18 Heritage. I love it!! Sounds great even though mine has Rinehart exhaust. Super Loud!! No problems so far.
I do use a go pro. Normally set with linear view, but I goofed on this one and had to crop it. Trial and error finally got my frame right. Sometimes I’ll use the app/my cell phone to check framing if I need to.
Does it sit up high enough to mount on 01 Road King Police? (Has the tach, up there) an you give me the distance from bar to system in the center. Or Can it mount in front (towards windshield) of the tach? Pretty Badass. Keep On Keepin On.-Are your dealership's bike nights on 2nd or 3rd Friday of the month?
3rd Friday of the month. I think they’re might be a fitment issue in front of the tach, and it definitely won’t fit above. You’ve got me brainstorming, though!
@@TheHarleyTech I was kind of thinking that if you're rolled the mounts back towards the windshield and then rolled the stereo forward and towards you it might work. I will contact kuryakyn customer support. Thank you for your reply
That thing is impressive (That's what she said...HAHA). That's not a bad price for that kind of sound quality. It doesn't look bulky or out of place either, which is always good.
Hey man, I just got hip to your channel and really I'm digging it. Great content, info, humor and cool vibes. I want to start posting some vids as well and I dig your camera and mic set up. What do you use for both. Also, what editing software do you use for your vids? I really appreciate it. Best to you and the family.
Final Cut Pro on a MacBook Pro for editing, the rest is all linked in the description. Canon 80d, rode mic, tripods, go pros, all of that stuff! Glad you’re enjoying!
Hey John. Love the channel. DO you think it is feasible to install on a sportster with the original iron handle bars? I mean would it look and fit nice? or would it look strange?
Lol I just said that and found your comment... I just dont understand the need for playing the music on the speakers. It's as if you are just trying to show off. Use Bluetooth earphones or the helmet speakers and play the music.
I also have the sena 10s with a fullface. Would you prefer to use the sound bar or the sena for music while riding. Not sure if I should pick one up or stick with what I have

@@TheHarleyTech I was kind of thinking that if you're rolled the mounts back towards the windshield and then rolled the stereo forward and towards you it might work. I will contact kuryakyn customer support. Thank you for your reply
They’ll definitely know!
Great video John! Looking to get me that Heritage soft tail.
That thing is impressive (That's what she said...HAHA). That's not a bad price for that kind of sound quality. It doesn't look bulky or out of place either, which is always good.
dude i dig the end of the video, car seat x2 lol
keep riding brother
Hey man, I just got hip to your channel and really I'm digging it. Great content, info, humor and cool vibes. I want to start posting some vids as well and I dig your camera and mic set up. What do you use for both. Also, what editing software do you use for your vids? I really appreciate it. Best to you and the family.
Final Cut Pro on a MacBook Pro for editing, the rest is all linked in the description. Canon 80d, rode mic, tripods, go pros, all of that stuff! Glad you’re enjoying!
@@TheHarleyTech Thanks my brother!!
Hey John. Love the channel. DO you think it is feasible to install on a sportster with the original iron handle bars? I mean would it look and fit nice? or would it look strange?
Visited your dealer while I was at Fort Benning!
Love tunes and like no tunes. That's why there are choices.......good vid thanks
Hi John, next step 30inch front wheel? Man, this is for Sunday goofy bikers. I enjoy my engine and exhaust sound. Music is for cars!
Caspar sog ok cause street / road glides aren’t a thing ?!?!?!
John, no offense, but, get a Bluetooth communicator and stream music to your helmet. Eliminates clutter.
Not sure if I should pick one up or stick with what I have
Needs automatic volume adjustment based on speed or ambient noise? Having to manually adjust with gloves on looks like it would be a pain in the ass.
Is yours still working? After watching your review I bought 1, I was pretty happy with it but only lasted 2 years
