The true sign that you've reached adulthood, watching videos comparing trimmer line.

When you have folks that are doing an experiment with weed trimmer line, these videos are needed, cause if you buy a weed trimmer line and then you find out the line you bought is at the bottom of value, you know you would rather have a longer lasting line, I don't really consider price that much of a problem,

The 2 most important tests really are the fray and longevity, so the oregon nylium is very closely matched to the stihl pro.

Great vid ! Have to say I bought the stihl square line when I got my new stihl strimmer, didn’t know that they already came with line but I tried the square and even soaked it in water like they recommended and didn’t really like it especially for edging, I went back to the cheap round line that came with the strimmer which seems better.

@@MachineryNationid be keen to see you try the fs490 and or FS 560, I've been having issues with mine melting line inside the head to the point it all sticks together and or snaps off ! Its infuriating, tired soaking in water, different diameter, different manufacturers etc.

@@Saxondog what machine where you running ? I've tried Stihl round, square & cf3 in a few sizes, as well as vortex in 3 sizes, Oregon etc. Never had the issue with the fs350, 400 & 450, or 545 / 555rxt I personally think its because the fs460, 490, 560 run to fast because of the m tronic as they are optimised for clearing saw work. As the 350, 400, 450 and 545, 555rxt don't tach out any where near as fast, Stihl just deny the issue. I wonder if a dual setting MT map or "eco speed" system would work to select mowing with nylon or blade / saw work. I also think a more ergonomic throttle system should be brought back, thumb throttle or take a leaf out of kärchers "easyforce" trigger book. To prevent fatigue on long jobs
      What do you think ?

I've found the Oregon nylium square line cuts well and is reasonably durable. The most durable line is the old 3mm yellow round stuff! Not sure if you should run thicker line on smaller strimmers though? Personally if there are no obstacles I prefer a grass blade.

    Hello.
Have you guys compare the FSA135 against the FSA200?
I have the FSA135 over 3 years and have used and abused it beyond manufacturing recommendation, this with all kind blades never have any problem.
Now for what I see the FSA200 have a little more power but what about battery time? Is it like the MSA300 witch I also have but resembles a Mustang GT with gas tank in the reserve? In a 20" diameter oak log about 11 or 12 cuts and the AP500S battery is out of power and hot, if it be the case then I am better with mine 100% reliable and excellent performance FSA135.
