this does not solve the issue of it being hand neutral at best. it should require shuffling at least 1 random card in the hand minimum. though realistically it should apply a symertrical effect with during your next turn where the oponment gets to draw, where the resriction is only for the persion who activated it.
This card basically tells me that konamy thinks startin with 6 more cards than your opponent is balanced for them. This is just goat format all over again
I also think that Horus decks (or similar decks that special from the gy) will probably become more powerful as they don’t special summon from the deck or extra deck.
Fantastic card for the Back Jack Lab variant! Lab has decent ability to clear its own board for a potential Chummy, can often keep its cards in hand or GY for Turn 0 activation, and can easily dump its hand EP to fit under the +6 required if needed. This card 100% replaces Phantazmy in a way the from hand Chummy never could.
I agree with joshua schmidt in that I think this would be perfectly balanced if it only drew off extra deck summons but we will have to see how it plays out
Imo it should only be 1 multcharmy per turn if you use this one, it's pretty cracked. But I like that you can at least try to mitigate the damage against the Multcharmies by summoning from somewhere else, even though avoiding Extra is really hard.
Have you been playing yugioh for the past decade? Just a reminder that turns went on for 15 mins back in 2015 and prior. If they disliked special summoning they would print decks with lines that special summon 30 times. They literally have "special summon" on every card in every new archtype they release.
@@Unknownz000 yeap, I know. They pushed the game in a bad direction, they know that cards like summon limit are too toxic, but having a card that punishes decks for extending too far is decently reasonable. I think Maxx "C" should just be legal. Going first is already a big advantage that it's not funny.
It is a problem, that's why OCG still keeping maxx C. But there is no other way around it, special summoning is modern YGO, unless u play stun or chainburn. There is no way Konami can avoid or prevent ppl to do special summon unless they change the master rule.
This is a personal theory, so take what I mention below with a grain of salt I'm feeling this won't be the last mulchummy draw card. I'm thinking that the mulchummy card effects are going off how certain deck types do their summons, especially given that they have that last restriction to limit mulchummy activations to one more use. An example of this would be if someone had purulia and fuwaross in hand and activated both. This pairing might catch something like snake eyes and heroes that rely on hand and deck summons but might not be as effective against something like zombies or stun decks that utilize the graveyard or setup in the spell/trap zones. So my best guess is that they'll next make/release a mulchummy focused on graveyard/banished summons (very likely) and potentially something involved with backrow placement (not very likely but possible)
5:07 Maxx C doesn't stop people from playing "combo" decks (on an competitive level). Why should a weaker version succeed at what Maxx C fails to do? This card just gives going second decks an "I win" card if they draw it and it can resolve.
tbf, with 3 maxx c, most games, you're opponent will *not* draw it. with 6, you can reasonably assume they will (57% to draw at least one in the opening hand, 10% to draw both). so it goes from most games you don't even have to deal with it to most games you can reasonably expect to see it. if both are legal, you *need* a back-up plan in your deck if you don't draw ash/called by, and are definitely more incentivized to play slower strategies. it's definitely not going to kill off combo deck entirely, but it'll encourage and reward playing other decks more. also, everything i just said only applies to OCG/MD, obviously.
@@tweekin7out yeah, I was talking about the TCG. And what do you mean with "combo" decks? Because the only decks that are not extremely hurt by this are decks that summon only 2 times combined from the extra and or deck. That is 95% of modern decks. And since counters exist, "combo" decks are still way stronger than anything else if the Maxx C card doesn't resolve.
@@ConductorElcrest I've seen a few fellas run the OG Multchummy with Maxx "C" just to break the 10% chance of opening probablity in a starting hand even if you are running just one. People will probably appreciate this, especially for Pet Deckers who prefer going second, but the vast majority is just fine with just three copies of Maxx "C" over here.

I wonder if the yugioh cards Shared Ride,Mistaken Arrest or Mistaken Accusation would work against mulchamy? Though if you want to stop it cold than I would see Mistaken Arrest being more useful. Though Accusation and Shared Ride would be good to test out too and another few cards that I want to test out is Slash Draw, Mind Crush and Mind Drain.
I feel like this will be the only Mulcharmy worth playing, as compared to Purulia that would get you 2-3 draws at most (save for very specific decks like Floo that summon everything from hand) and fails to discourage most people from taking the challenge and play all the way. But this one will make people think as most of the current strategies want to go for 3-4 extra deck summons but more often more in their first turn if they want to have a really strong end board ( current snake-eyes would let you draw 5-7 if not more if they chose to go full combo, not sure how many more draws it is with the fiendsmith). So unless Konami tones down the power level of the game, I think this sort of cards is sadly necessary, and at least it can only be used if you have a clean board and not on top of an already nasty board like max c.
I could be wrong here, but i think most people wont bother main decking it unless they play going 2nd. That said, this card pairs too well with other handtraps, which will prevent the random shuffle effect on end phase most likely. Im in hopes that Fuwaross gets banned and we only have purilia
If Maxx C is coming back like this, than we'll start our deck bilding with 3 Ashes, called by, and crossout. Oh wait. We already did this in master Duel. Because Maxx C is a thing. Difference is, we also included Maxx C x3 when doing this, as ever deck that can run it, does run it. Heck, maybe even Nibiru, to strike back when youropponen is ready to attack. Provided they're not playing Tenpai, which does most of it's shenanigans in the battle phase.
The one thing that I feel is bad with this card is they combined the extra deck and main deck together. Why on the first one did they only do hand, and on this one they combined the most powerful place you special summon from (which is the extra deck, let's be real) with somewhere else as well. Do they think the hand is the biggest place to special summon from? The extra deck, hands down is the most impactful place you special summon from with 90% of decks.... They should've done hand, extra deck, main deck and then combine grave and banishment... This one will be the most impactful, by far.

While this card is absolutely amazing, reading some comments I feel like people are getting overdramatic. And I am the complete opposite as a Maxx C apologist. So hear me out : 1 - As Jesse mentioned, this cannot does not put pressure after you’ve established a board 2 - It works - or at least it’s intended - as a loose equalizer. Very loose yes, but let’s be honest for one second here : the modern decks are crazy. When you consider that one card can get you a full board with at minima 5 interruptions, it’s hard to think the additional draw of going second is now a fair trade for your opponent going first. 3 - We are about to have 12 Maxx C in the game and this is fucking hilarious.
Going second is already in a good place. Gave em a whole archetype with tenpai and a generic free xyz in typhon. You really dont meed maxx c to make going 2nd good.
@toadfan64 I don't really agree man. Sure, first is almost always better due to the nature of yugioh. But every deck does run 20 hand traps in the main already with constant access to typhon and zeus. This isn't mentioning tenpai as a whole or going second staples like evenly or super poly. Think the issue is the constant tier 0 formats we're always in where every card is full combo. If going second ever becomes better in general, it probably also wouldn't be very fun. Giving maxx c to anyone going second is just a bit silly. Would be better if they actually designed a format that isn't tier 0 where you have a chance going second without going second maxx c. Feels like rather than fixing a problem and extinguishing the burning house they're just throwing coal in it.
@@Unknownz000 We won’t know till it happens. It can’t be worse than any format where the top decks just keep combo-ing off and either ending on multiple negates or ways to play through your turn. This is good direction. We def will get grave / banish ver next. But its still bad going first so just the fact u cant slap this on the top of ur OP board, makes it all good. If they don’t do something MD’s effective maxx c count will triple with no increase in its staple counters.
My complaint is that the power creep this past year is pricing me out of the game as well as others. This card will counter the meta. However, Konami seems to solidify the future of this massive power leap is not going to be countered by a banlist, but rather these (most likely secret rare) multchummy handtraps. Konami is trying to make revenue from this power creep year, and many decks and archetypes are becoming outdated because if you aren't able to run these powerful handtraps, you will not be competitive. I just don't have the funds to play the game competitively anymore, and I'm sure others feel like this, too 😕

You can’t just say this card isn’t fair and/or ask for 3 called bys before objectively looking at what decks are doing lately. The problem isn’t this card, it’s how insanely fast every deck is getting. Full combos are almost an ftk, so they have to be checked, but losing your turn is almost getting otk’d. When it’s either an ftk or getting otk’d, then that’s the problem.
if their reasoning is "we put maxx c TWICE to slow down the game", they're even more stupid than i thought. Put another problem in the mix, sure it will help
My issue with this as a broke boy is that the card will be "mandatory" to play in a competitive environment, so I'll get sacked by it all the time, but it'll be years before I'll be able to afford it, as TCG Konami will 100% rarity bump it, then use it as an excuse to shortprint in garbage side sets to try sell the next legendary duelist and after 2-4 years they'll give it an affordable print. This predatory style doesn't usually bother me, but this card may be in a league of it's own.
I hate any card that is similar to maxx c or maxx c itself, but it was needed. The game got out of control. These cards and maxx c when it comes back will fix the game for sure. We just have to adapt
This will not fix the game. Master Duel is proof that a broken hand trap that goes crazy against combo decks will not stop combo decks from ruling the meta. This card will do nothing but cause frustration as some games will be decided by who draws it

this does not solve the issue of it being hand neutral at best. it should require shuffling at least 1 random card in the hand minimum. though realistically it should apply a symertrical effect with during your next turn where the oponment gets to draw, where the resriction is only for the persion who activated it.
This card basically tells me that konamy thinks startin with 6 more cards than your opponent is balanced for them.
This is just goat format all over again
Well as good as going first is, going second with +6 cards might be good idea
I also think that Horus decks (or similar decks that special from the gy) will probably become more powerful as they don’t special summon from the deck or extra deck.
Droplet about to be even better
Literraly
Fantastic card for the Back Jack Lab variant!
Lab has decent ability to clear its own board for a potential Chummy, can often keep its cards in hand or GY for Turn 0 activation, and can easily dump its hand EP to fit under the +6 required if needed.
This card 100% replaces Phantazmy in a way the from hand Chummy never could.
I'm so annoyed by master duel hitting lab, I would be playing that backjack going second variant until the end of times
Watch this be a secret rare and short printed on tcg release
This is them admitting spamming special summons is a problem.
No they don't? Do you know fiendsmith cards they are not even out yet and are special summon spam deluxe
@@caseystrong9582 couldn't disagree more tbh but to each their own.
It is a problem, that's why OCG still keeping maxx C. But there is no other way around it, special summoning is modern YGO, unless u play stun or chainburn.
There is no way Konami can avoid or prevent ppl to do special summon unless they change the master rule.
This is a personal theory, so take what I mention below with a grain of salt
I'm feeling this won't be the last mulchummy draw card.
This definitely won't be the last, we still lack grave / banish malchummy. After that maybe we are done with malchummy, who knows.
Everytime I think this game can't get any crazier and I'm always left dumbfounded
I like that it only works with an empty board on your side. Just that by itself is 100x more fair.
I thought you said not too long ago this card was over hyped??? 🤔🤔🤔
This is Maxx "C" with extra steps. As an OCG player, I am laughing hysterically on this one lol.
Do you think the OCG playerbase will play this alongside maxx c?
@@ConductorElcrest I've seen a few fellas run the OG Multchummy with Maxx "C" just to break the 10% chance of opening probablity in a starting hand even if you are running just one.
Problem is, it interferes with the proper engine pieces if you draw it together with Maxx "C" especially going first. People will probably appreciate this, especially for Pet Deckers who prefer going second, but the vast majority is just fine with just three copies of Maxx "C" over here.
@@ConductorElcrest absolutely not as an ocg player myself the hand traps and non engine that go into a deck first are Maxx C and cards to stop Maxx c. The power of Maxx c is also going first this does nothing going first and if u open both u have to shuffle back ur maxx c cards as well so there is no reason to play them side by side
Unless you are playing blind second, I don't see why you would maindeck this and Maxx C. You want a high chance to draw other hand traps that disrupt, and space in your deck to actually play them.
Did you expect a maxx c with less steps? It's already the most powerful card in the game arguably.
This is unironically a main deck auto-include
And 3 ash, and 3 crossout, and 1 called by. Fun deckbuilding we got here
I disagree, I think that card is way too much of a risk to open going first. You only main deck if you play a blind second deck. But definitely the best side deck for going second card in the game atm
Not for all formats, but in the current one yes I agree
@@SonaSoniaSona this is just wrong even if a deck doesn't summon mcuh from deck they still use the extra deck. This card is 95% of the time at least upstart
@beegyoshi1685 you need to not control any cards. They weren't saying it wouldn't draw you cards, they were saying it's literally unusable if you have a board (or even just a single facedown or something)
Oh boy, can't wait for it to be a shortprinted secret rare so I won't get one until it reprints in 2030!
Core sets don’t short print.
@@timbahr1792? Wasn’t paidra short printed
@@tdpmazeno it wasn't. It was just a super everyone wanted from the set
@@tdpmaze no. there's 26 supers in a set and there's 24 packs in a box. 6 of those slots are taken by secrets/ultras as well so you only have 18 chances to get a specific super rare. there's times where you can go multiple boxes and not see a specific super due to variance but it evens out on a large scale
If you ask a vendor. Yeah, it's short printed. But you'll see a vendor sitting a 100+ copies at $100+.
Love the content kotton keep it coming !
The grave / banish one might be used too later. But yea that and purulia kinda format dependant, while this card is better generally.
This new maxx c is PERFECT! Toom many are so dang stuck on OTK in the last several years, you forget there's other play styles.
WHOLE HEARTEDLY AGREE
The one thing that I feel is bad with this card is they combined the extra deck and main deck together. Why on the first one did they only do hand, and on this one they combined the most powerful place you special summon from (which is the extra deck, let's be real) with somewhere else as well. Do they think the hand is the biggest place to special summon from? The extra deck, hands down is the most impactful place you special summon from with 90% of decks.... They should've done hand, extra deck, main deck and then combine grave and banishment... This one will be the most impactful, by far.
Purulia also takes normal summon into account.
@@thonkingindeedThe vast majority of decks can only normal summon once though... Whereas there are infinitely more decks that can special things from deck.
@@Camelotsmoon still, they are taking ttwo thigns into account with every condition. Now we have to wait until we get one in the GY adn we have the holy trinity of "Maxx 'C' 2"
They're obviously taking the concept of maxx c and splitting it into different monsters
Next malchummy i expect to see for graveyard/banishment special summons
@@dannycristen7505 Yeah, but they should've split main deck and extra deck into two separate cards. This one above the others will 100% be played the majority of the time.
Wow another max c
OCG&MD players: Please ban Maxx C!
Konami: What was that? Did you say you want MORE Maxx C? Here you go!
While this card is absolutely amazing, reading some comments I feel like people are getting overdramatic. And I am the complete opposite as a Maxx C apologist. So hear me out :
1 - As Jesse mentioned, this cannot does not put pressure after you’ve established a board
2 - It works - or at least it’s intended - as a loose equalizer.
Unless this new card is a hyper printed common in this set, people will leave this game in droves if its a $200 Secret Rare short print...
This card will be $100 lets gooo
I like this card to help going second decks even more.
Going second is already in a good place. Gave em a whole archetype with tenpai and a generic free xyz in typhon. You really dont meed maxx c to make going 2nd good.
@@Unknownz000 Going 1st is still MASSIVELY better than going second, so more help is always appreciated.
A going second format would probably mean it’s a less combo oriented and more control/otk focused, which would be fine.
@toadfan64 really hope you're right. Cause if it's as good as it reads the game is in for a rough time.
This is good direction. We def will get grave / banish ver next.
But its still bad going first so just the fact u cant slap this on the top of ur OP board, makes it all good.
Not sure if ppl even maindeck it, sidedeck for sure. Which is fine, going first already so good as is, we need more power for ppl going second.
Maybe after all malchummy released, OCG finally will ban maxx C too, i hope.
def a sidedeck when you know ur going second
Ive already seen several people actually quit the game over this and 1 other person heavily consider it, so thats concerning
Can we ban maxx c in master duel now
My favorite Mulcharmy is Phantazmay
At this Point they can unban pot of greed cuz we are drawing more than that anyways with cards like, Coach King Giantrainer, Folgo, Justice Fur Hire, Maxx C
Players: we hate maxx c, please ban.
Konami: here’s 6 more copies.
Disclaimer: I only play MD. While not everyone hates maxx c I feel like most do.
I was hoping we could get maxx c banned in MD but hopefully they at least put cross out back to 3. Called by at 3 would be nice as well. If they don’t do something MD’s effective maxx c count will triple with no increase in its staple counters.
FLOO, Monarch, and True Draco stun players our time is now
There literally a different Mulchummy for exactly those deck lmao
My complaint is that the power creep this past year is pricing me out of the game as well as others. This card will counter the meta. However, Konami seems to solidify the future of this massive power leap is not going to be countered by a banlist, but rather these (most likely secret rare) multchummy handtraps. Konami is trying to make revenue from this power creep year, and many decks and archetypes are becoming outdated because if you aren't able to run these powerful handtraps, you will not be competitive. I just don't have the funds to play the game competitively anymore, and I'm sure others feel like this, too 😕
Just... don't play comp and play casually instead ?
@dudono1744 makes sense just have no friends to play casual with. It is what it is, I just have to suck it up. Maybe take a break and play Magic. This is my favorite card game no matter what though.
Have you tried old but popular formats like edison? They are kinda cool.
@@boraaksitozgun9912 These have an inherent issue : they are pretty stale by design. But that's not an issue if you're just avoiding 1 format.
@boraaksitozgun9912 no i haven't. Do OTS stores hold events for these?
If Maxx C gets replaced with this it's an improvement. Vaylantz will be stronger because of the field spell.
extra deck should be once per main phase 1 and 2
Floowandereeze welcomes you our winged friend.
If Max "C" comes back then the only thing that they'll really have to do it make OCG and TCG rules consistent and the same and we could actually have formats that are aligned and product releases that happaned at the same time. I really hope that they take this as an opportunity to join TCG with the OCG.
They are not going to do it, they use OCG as a testing ground to raise the rarity of cards in TCG.
@@brago900 With things like rarity collection coming out and making a lot of staples more affordable, their recent banlist getting rid of floodgates, it's making me think that maybe konami is trying to change their ways.
@@dylanserra6501 They made the Fiendsmith engine entirely secret rare and are dropping the set just days before Nationals. They aren't changing their ways, they are doubling down on them.
There could be a few decks that can play around it. Horus adventure and kashtira cards all could put up some disruption without giving any cards. Maybe this makes ritual decks better?
Could we see you try to turn beetrooper/insects into a meta viable deck please? It's my favorite typing.
Purulia or Fawaros?
They were definitely supposed to only put deck or only print extra deck. Not both. They screwed up once again
You could shotgun it at the start of your turn. It says you can only activate when you control no cards. So activate it first than play lol
The condition should’ve been +4 not +6…..if you think the proliferation of hand traps was bad now wait until this card is in the format. Your best option is to keep as many cards in hand as possible to counter this since you’ll most likely just pass turn once it resolves, which will lead to an even higher amount of main deck hand traps. Welcome to hell!
Agreed, bc the +6 requirement is just maxx c
Wing, Winged-Beast, Harpie support is finally here
there is NO WAY someone went “yeah this seems balanced”

after this comes out they're going to give us back more copies of called by and then print another version of it. Calling it now.
Called by to 3 copium? Seriously though, it was stupid that card ever got limited to 1, quite possibly the dumbest TCG banlist decision I've ever seen.
Sir Jesse what is that background song
It’s time to get Gamma and Called by grave to unlimited!
Unchained is absolutely cooked
I really apreciate the Statement at the end, about doomsday screamers. Those are so annoying man. I think one can criticise yugioh the way Joshua Schmidt does it. Always constructive, not screaming that this game is dead, at every occasion.
Yeah every game has that. People can just stop playing instead of doomsaying. I've played this game for 20 years, just have fun and bail out if you aren't.
They should at least put called by back to 3 when this card get's released
You can’t just say this card isn’t fair and/or ask for 3 called bys before objectively looking at what decks are doing lately. The problem isn’t this card, it’s how insanely fast every deck is getting. Full combos are almost an ftk, so they have to be checked, but losing your turn is almost getting otk’d. When it’s either an ftk or getting otk’d, then that’s the problem.
Called by to 3 isn’t bad, but your logic as to why is not well thought out.
if their reasoning is "we put maxx c TWICE to slow down the game", they're even more stupid than i thought. Put another problem in the mix, sure it will help
I don't mind, though. As a Dinomorphia player, I'll just wait for my opponent to play a card to activate my fusion trap cards. 😉

This will not fix the game. Master Duel is proof that a broken hand trap that goes crazy against combo decks will not stop combo decks from ruling the meta. This card will do nothing but cause frustration as some games will be decided by who draws it
