  • Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel :) In today’s video I share with you my growing jewel orchid collection. In the past I have killed every jewel orchid I have ever grown - aside from Ludisia discolor - but after having watched a really informative video on the blog Here but not, I decided to give them another try. I have to say- so far so good!
Here is a link to the Here but not blog post I am talking about:
    herebutnot.com/...
The jewel orchids featured in this video are:
    Ludisia discolor
    Ludisia discolor Alba
    Ludisia discolor x Anoectochilus roxburghii
    Anoectochilus formosanus
    Anoectochilus siamensis
    Macodes petola
    Macodes sanderiana
    Macodes petola x Macodes sanderiana
Anyways, hope you like my collection. I will inevitably post updates on my plants and how they are doing so stay tuned but in the meantime thank you for watching :)

I would put it in moist sphagnum moss in a closed container- in my experience that is the best way to rescue a jewel orchid.

Is there such a thing as “enough plants”?! Lol - especially when there’s always something new and interesting to grow!

Nice collection of jewels! I haven't dipped my toes into them yet. I know they're grown for the leaves, but I still want one that has nice flowers 😅. Maybe next year I'll get one. Where did you get these from?

Thank you! They’re beautiful and I find the flowers pretty tho not the standard pretty of other orchids ;) I bought some of them online through Facebook marketplace and also Gardenworks carries them every once in a while!

Oh Boy you found my passion as well. I so love the Jewel orchids and I would love to get my hands on some. I love their leaves and such. Even though their tiny orchids to me are beautiful. My parents use to have them and now I know what they were. Thank you for linking the video because I want to learn so that I can grow them. You are so amazing orchid grower. I am learning so much from your videos. I agree with using moss I still have not been able to grow in moss no matter how much or how less I use. I can grow in other mixtures. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy them and have a great day.
