Andor is a true masterpiece. The "Pandora's Box" of Star Wars has been opened by this show.
i dont think it means what you think it means
Yeah I’m shocked it got the ok from Disney. To be honest, fiction addressing this matter isn’t common anymore because God forbid people in the real world look around them and realize we aren’t that far off.
The Mandalorian is still a great show. Just because it’s not a masterpiece like Andor doesn’t mean it sucks. The pandora box was opened by the fan base.
really well made video and I completely agree with all your points. one of the reasons the locations of Andor feels so lived in is because the show was shot at actual locations instead of using Volume from Mandalorian.
Yes I pointed that out in the video. The volume is also obviously fantastic, but the magic of live sets is something else
Actually the technology was used but with a lot of emphasis on practicality, also the way it is shot the show where they show the real things in frame first then zoom out as opposed to the opposite ( used in rings of power.. ugghhh)
@@whakjob Oh I didn't know that, that's really interesting
Exactly the same. Skipped Mando S2, Boba and OB1. No plans to watch Andor, but a friend recommended it. WOW! Love it! Now watched it Twice.
You made the right choice!
Manor S2 is worth it, better than S1 in my opinion. But S3 is definitely worth skipping
I really hope this show takes home an Emmy for writing/screenplay or cinematography. It truly deserves to be awarded for at least something. Best Star Wars since Empire Strikes Back IMO.
I think it’s the best star wars since tlj personally. But yes this definitely does deserve some Emmy wins for sure!
@@detoxwithp-talksofficial6868 Because of all of the things you point out about Andor doing right, I can't say a single good thing good about TLJ...because that was the exact opposite. Everything Andor did right, TLJ did wrong. But I completely agree with everything you say in this video, and am gladly subbing!
@@andrewbecker1013 Let's agree to disagree, and thank you for subscribing!
I could not even finish Obi or Boba. I had given up on Star Wars creators. I'm so glad someone convinced me to give this show a try.
I'd forced myself to sit through those 2 shows. Thought Andor would be of the same quality. But I'm so happy I watched it.
I'm very glad this ended up in my recommended, this deserves so many more views and you deserve thousands more subscribers, you've definitely earned mine! Agreed with pretty much everything you said, this show is what we need more of, more depth and less handholding exposition!
Thank You so much Sean!
Loved your description of Cassian Andor. He hated the Empire but was not interested in fighting them in some organized rebellion. He just wanted to live his life and be left alone. But given his natural gifts, it would have been a waste. He was intelligent, resourceful, strong, and decisive. His mom, Luthen, and his friends saw those gifts, and maybe Cassian saw them in himself. However, he only used them primarily for his own survival. But as he was put into situations, starting with Aldhani, where he saw close up what the Empire was doing to so many besides himself, he realized that his life would be meaningless if he did not use his gifts for something bigger than himself.
Perfectly encapsulated his journey ❤️
I also believe he didn’t like to see himself as someone like Skeen.
Great analysis of the show! Absolutely loved every bit of this masterpiece. Very well done vid!
Thank You for watching!
I loved your take on this. You're the first that commented about that scene between Brasso and Cassian in the very beginning, and what it tells the focused observer. Obviously, you're a focused observer! Kudos to you, and instant Like. 👍🙂
Hey thank you so much 😊
Agreed and well said. I wasn’t a “super fan” of Star Wars, but always enjoyed the universe and my brother is a super fan so he always gets me to watch. KOTOR was one of my favorite rpgs of all time because it had depth and get really into the philosophy of the force. With Andor, it has the same effect on me but with the rebellion verses the empire. It solidified that aspect of the universe for me and made me see the parallels of fiction with real world present day events (on a lesser degree of course).
To me, Andor is a clear winner, and that one show has made me a Star Wars fan for life. It’s definitely mature (as am I) so it appealed to me and IMO had hearty meat to serve with the course. Thank you for your great analysis.
Thank You so much for watching! And yeah I love the new perspective we got in how the rebellion really came to be, and the sacrifices and struggles it took for it to be built.
Andor sweep
Thank you for saying you loved The Last Jedi, so many people hate on it but at least it was trying to do something unique.
I just said what I thought. I'd rewatched it recently and I think it's an absolute masterpiece. I love that film.
I burn my life for a sunrise I’ll never see.
Excellent monologue
I love star warts too 😂😂
Well said, sir. Totally agree with all your points.
Great video, subbed 👍
Thank You!
So true what you said.
It's a simple series which shows all the back story and what it was really like with the empire.
Indeed, and I love that we get a more ground level perspective of the average everyday folk, and their power to make a difference.
The clone wars series is a must series, I suggest you watch it in chronological order.
Well shows are rarely my thing, esp one with many seasons. But I'd seen a little of season 1 of the clone wars and I'd liked it
@@detoxwithp-talksofficial6868 from season 2 onwards the stories get more interesting. The introduction of the Mandalorians etc, it uses story arcs to explain what it’s going on within the clone wars. The clones themselves through characters such as Rex gets more interesting and there is finally an explanation for order 66 in the latter seasons. You can either watch it in chronological order or by looking up the clone wars story arcs.
Honestly making Andor so good makes me angry at Disney, they're capable of creating good stories but quick and simple cameos and Marvel-like quips and jokes sells.
OBK is too comedic to take the empire seriously and BOBF was a promised crime drama turned into a kids western.
Yeah but now with the critical and audience acclaim this show has received, hopefully this series heads in the right direction
Loved the Last Jedi, eh? Talk about an unpopular opinion 😅
I liked it. I appreciated its attempt to do do something with its story, and it has a few memorable moments (for better or worse).
But that whole trilogy.... Aimless. Pointless. Confused.
Oh wow
an Indian Star Wars fan that is interesting
and dude maybe Bad Batch ain't that good
but please watch Clone Wars if you havent yet (and Rebels too because it continues the story)
Clone Wars is literally an important part of the story which impacts the other stories in the universe
it is part of the Prequel era story and it is literally an entire section of the franchise you are missing which is very necessary to understand the story
Lost me at The Last Jedi.
Andor is 10/10 tho.
If you 'liked' the Last Jedi then it's certain that 'Star Wars feeling' you claim you lost is a bit of a con, it was not the 'feeling' people who grew up in the late 70's and 80's were feeling when the story came to its natural and logical conclusion in the Return of the Jedi, and it was certainly not the feeling they had when they witnessed how Disney had killed off these characters who died alone and isolated and friendless.
Idk man I personally just got that Star Wars feeling with the last Jedi. I can see why it’s so controversial but I just love it
Haven't seen the show , dont plan to as well, just here to commend you on that thumbnail. Make more like these
Hey thanks man! Took a few tries but I was satisfied with this one
You should watch it, really you should,
I would honestly really really recommend it
You are missing out man. It’s not for everyone, but give it three episodes and if you don’t like it, move on. But you will likely be rewarded if you stick to the show.
@@soakedbearrd I am sure it is. The only problem is, in terms of Star Wars, I have only seen the original trilogy so I have a lot to catch up to watch this. I hope I will eventually get down to it but as of now, lots to watch
How can you whole heartedly love the last jedi💀💀💀💀
Because I do?
You didn't see Clone Wars? I suppose that you didn't see the Rebels, well those two are the essence of the world building. To be honest everyone can have YT channel today. What are you doing here? You don't deserve to be watched and you can't be realistic about the SW.
In order to truly understand Mando you must watch the Clone Wars and Rebels and you are talking like the rebels doesn't exist. How do you comment about the SW if you didn't watch those two? You don't understand the lore. About the books I'll not even touch, even though they are immensely important. I don't have nothing in common with this channel
I've watched a bit of Clone Wars, and I can talk about whatever I want to talk about on this channel.
the ability to speak does not make you intelligent
Don't be gate-keeping.
