I think the saddest part is that Amy mainly wanted to lose weight to have a baby... And Tammy tried so hard to hold her back and prevent her from getting the surgery. And even after Amy had her son, Tammy was still awful and acted jealous towards the baby
@Olive it's disgusting. But there's videos all over UA-cam about it. Whenever Amy had her baby Tammy acted disgusted and was constantly jealous of all the attention baby gage was receiving. It's sad
I’ve seen so many people say that they know Amy irl and she’s a lovely person and that Tammy just takes advantage of her over and over :( it really does seem like Tammy is almost jealous of how hard Amy has worked and that she is moving on with her life 🥺 I hope that Tammy can learn from Amy’s progress instead of being bitter about Amy trying to improve her future for herself and her growing family
I think it's more envious, Tammy feels trapped and hasn't hit that point where she actually wants to change. Amy has a family and wanted a baby which I feel was a very powerful goal for her. Unfortunately Tammy hasn't found the thing that will make her fight and I think she is taking that frustration out on her sister.
@@nerdycurls6253 true, envy would be the more appropriate word here instead of jealousy. It’s quite sad to see really.. Amy has those things because she put herself out there and worked hard to find love and fight to have children. Tammy is unfortunately too stubborn (or scared maybe?) to do the same. I hope she finds her drive soon so she can start enjoying her life freely 🥺
I agree with y’all. Tammy also has not much luck with relationships. She’s usually with some dude who has some kind of f£tish for BBW’s ( ‘My Thoughts Will Probably Offend You’ on YTcovered the topic) and they’re just not great people for her. I’d guess seeing Amy with someone long term does get to her sometimes. I can’t speak for her though of course
@@lornamulqueen4742 nah, she's just like that. Even in the beginning of this whole thing their mom said she'd fail, because that's just who she is. The moment she hit a tiny obstacle, she'd throw a tantrum and gives up. She just isn't a motivated person overall. And the sadder thing is she is quite petty and very fast at shifting blame.
As someone who had a lazy eye like Amy: your mind blocks out the other eye that’s looking to the side. For me, 3D movies are a no because my eyes don’t work together and perceive depth. It’s basically like I have one eye but also another that tags along that I can kinda use
Tammy's attitude is the whole reason she's failing. She has no desire to genuinely lose weight or change in any way. Amy succeeded because she had something she wanted, something to strive for and kept a positive attitude for the most part. Tammy is so negative and gives up so easily that it's no wonder she isn't changing.
I don't think she believes life will be better if she loses weight, she only knows morbid obesity. In her mind its a lot of effort to just be miserable and be without food. Her weight brought her a tv show and boyfriends. I cam actually understand why Tammy is the way she is.
My sister is an optometrist and [from what she has told me] I think that people with a lazy eye generally start to see with the “straight” eye so to speak, and start to tune out the eye that’s “crooked”. They still see regularly (in one direction), but I think that their vision actually suffers because of the tuning out of the second eye
@@blazeron12 It's not just eating less. It's breaking the comfort of food when stressed or bored or socializing. It's re-introducing yourself to knowing the difference between being actually hungry and just craving for the feeling of overfull. The struggle to limit is very real once the body has decided you aren't full until you ate for 5 people.
As a medical professional, a person of this size will lose an incredible amount with even just a moderate caloric reduction- it’s harder to lose weight the more near a healthy BMI you get, but even if she were reducing her intake by a couple hundred calories a day, the results would be quite visible
@@BichaeldeAngelo hi! As a medical professional, what are your thoughts on intermittent fasting in situations like this? I was diagnosed with PCOS early this year and my OB basically told me I needed to lose weight or I'd be in pain for the rest of my life. I started at around 270. So in my desperation, I began intermittent fasting and am now, since February, down to around 220. But now I'm being told that this is a super unhealthy thing to do, and that I need to just eat more and exercise. But that can be a problem for me, since the pain from the disorder is to a degree that standing/moving for too long causes horrific issues. So now I'm being accused of starving myself, but at the same time I don't know how else to lose weight. Dieting and exercise has never worked for me before. This fasting is the only way I've ever lost a legitimate amount of weight.
@@muadhnate I believe she has been back on track since then but I’m not too sure, all I know is Tammy isn’t doing well at all and doesn’t seem to wanna try to better herself.
I was born with a “lazy eye” and had corrective surgery at 13. Until then I didn’t realise my crooked eye just “turned off” when it wasn’t looking straight. The surgery gave me 20/20 vision. 23 now and my vision is great, I now have depth perception. Meaning when you throw a ball at me I can actually see it come correctly and catch it :)
Thats so interesting, my gran had a lazy eye but she was so self conscious about it she kept the laz eye closed until her eyelid muscle just didnt work anymore
Used to have a teacher we called Wild Bart and his eyes did that. He would point at someone, both eyes would be looking at two different people, and he would be talking to a fourth person. You couldnt get away with ANYTHING in his class, because nobody had a clue of where he was actually looking.
That almost sounds like an advantage on his part when you phrase it that way. Can't get away with shit cause you don't know if he's actually looking at you or not. 🤣 I love joking about my issues so I feel less bad about them, id totally use that.
"My sister is my everything" should have continued with "but I'm jealous that she has more motivation and drive to achieve her goals than I do, so I make her feel like absolute garbage at every opportunity to bring her down to my level while she's trying to help me. I'm literally incapable of being happy for her."
I got a chihuahua when I was five years old. She was the sweetest little thing. She was never aggressive, never upset. She was just a little dumb xD She followed me around everywhere, she sat next to me no matter what I was doing. She disrespected my homework and would walk all over on top of it with her little paws when I would lay on the floor with it. She was a little weirdo, and she was my best friend. She loved eveeybody regardless of who they were and licked them like crazy. We had her for 13 years and I still miss her and think about her. I wish my husband could have met her, he doesn't like chihuahuas, but I'm confident they would have loved each other. I'm not sassing Ken, I know it's all just jokes and I'm not taking it seriously. I just miss my little baby
Yesss I get how some chihuahua can be little demons, but if you get your chihuahua used to people they can be such sweethearts! I’ve had chihuahuas my whole life and they were all little angels with really bad farts 🥴❤️
Knowing how this all ends is both a blessing and a curse... Amy looses incredible amount of weight and has a healthy baby meanwhile Tammy got more abusive and gained well over 100lbs. Shame
Clap it up for the husband being willing to stay with her, even when she was told she couldn't have kids, he was patient enough to wait and I think they'll both be great parents, for Amy to work that hard to have a child I know she will be
I've seen so few posts about him. I think he's just as amazing as Amy is, he did what most men/people either can't or won't. He supports her in every way, shape and form unconditionally. His love for her runs deeper than almost any other person I've ever met. I hope things get so much better and easier for them, I hope they end up having a boring, happy and safe life surrounded by children and grandchildren. 🤞💜
It's kinda sad that the bar is so low in our society that not leaving your wife and supporting her just because she can't have kids is seen as praiseworthy instead of the bare minimum... :(
There are people wandering this planet who do not notice things. It's not their strength. I'm detail-oriented and my brain is overflowing with useless BS.
People who have eyes like that usually see normal, but struggle with headaches and eye pain. My family has this issue that's how I know. Cheers you guys rock!
As I stated I've only ever known people who have normal vision with it. I totally agree that people with this have different experiences though. All the best to those who suffer from this. Surgery can be an option for some but not all 👍
In the episodes, Tammy expressed to Amy that she wanted to go through the surgery together. When Amy was approved and Tammy wasn't, Tammy got very angry when Amy went through with her surgery even after she said she wanted to be a mother. Amy did eventually have a child but wound up not even winning the support of her sister in the end, and their mother was extremely unsupportive and told them they would never be able to go through with it. Recent pictures of Tammy showed that she still looked relatively the same, however her forehead bump was gone.
Here in Ontario Canada, my city has a company called "Cars for Keys" and they offer a service where they have employees drive your car from point A to point B. They work in teams of two and arrive in their own car to point , one employee drives your car to point B with the second employee following with their car. It also eliminates having to retrieve your car the next day. Their goal is to keep drunk drivers off the road.
Yo Ken: People with amblyopia (lazy eye) don't see out of both eyes. Their brain suppresses the eye that isn't pointing in the direction of focus. Part of the therapy used to correct amblyopia involves training the brain to stop suppressing one eye, and using binocular vision. Source: My fiancée is a vision therapist

dang dude, as someone with an abusive sibling, I really hope Amy finds the courage/strength/opportunity to get away from her sister, at least to some extent. it kinda sucks, but it is also so, so rewarding
That word is absolutely overused. Chances are, you aren't abused, they're just a dick Your words carry weight, stop it. Being a victim isn't something to strive for.
@@mr.jameson218 My sister is nearly 10 years older than me and stabbed me when I was, at most, 10 years old. She has also touched me inappropriately several times. I've never called myself a victim, nor have I ever considered myself a victim, I am just a person who happens to have an abusive sibling. Your words carry just as much weight as mine. I hope you at least take this as an opportunity to grow and be less close-minded and accusatory (but I doubt that).
This series makes me really sad, you can tell that the other sister has given up on herself. It's really sad, as eating for pleasure is truly a mental fight.
Finally someone with empathy and understanding. Eating to that point is an addiction just like any other addiction. They need counseling/psychiatric help. She has definitely given up and I hope she will be able to get the help she needs. People who get the surgery without it that are her size will end up just stretching their stomach back out.
@@familyof1052 Yeah it's just really sad to watch. I know this because I got the surgery myself and when you can't eat anything for a whole week--it is THE most difficult mental fight. It was the hardest week of my life.
I feel like they need to see the more psychological side of wieght loss, its a mindset, you need to learn to identify when you are genuinely hungry or full. So proud of Amy bettering herself, and i hope Tammy does the same💙
I agree with the psychological side of weight loss. I started the process for weight loss surgery. The diet and exercise were the easy part. Due to my mental health I wasn't cleared to go forth. It was difficult but I knew it was for the best. It's not just an "ok go lose x amount of weight and then get surgery". It's a whole life change. Physical and mental. Sometimes I wish these shows would go into that part but I understand how mental health gets to be touchy.
Tammy can argue till the cows come home. Doesn't change the fact she WON'T GET THE SURGERY. All the time she's spent bickering she could have been losing weight.
“I tried to” ?? There is no tried. You keep trying. You cant blame others for your own shortcomings man. For her, just walking around the house a few times, maybe walking around the block, would be more trying than it seems like shes doing.
I am so happy for Amy! Her sister probably struggles more because she doesn't have a strong motivation like becoming pregnant like Amy does. It's easy to say general health and quality of life should be that motivation but with how long she has had this pattern of life and where her mindset or mental health is, having something else to motivate her may be what she really needs. I hope she finds that reason and motivation. Great series guys, it's one of my favorites that you are doing right now. Thanks for the fun!
This is so sad, but she has to fight if she wants it. I'm not technically overweight (though I do have a gut) but I am out of shape, I struggle with breathing issues, and have such low energy that I'm almost narcoleptic, I think because I suffered for years with insomnia and now that my insomnia is gone and I can sleep, I sleep all the time, but also I have some heart weakness and high cholesterol so there's a lot of pressure on my heart when I try to work out. It makes it very hard for me to do anything strenuous, I get dizzy bending down to tie my shoes, I feel like I'll have a heart attack when carrying something heavy. But I have to push myself to go hiking, lift weights, walk somewhere, stretch, do something to get myself back in shape or I'll just die slowly and have all kinds of health issues and will get weaker and weaker until I can't even move. It hurts and it's frustrating but no one else can lift you up and move your muscles for you, you have to force yourself, it hurts everyone to start exercising when they never used to, it's very hard, but if you don't, you have to accept that you'll suffer a different pain from your body shutting down on you.
Swim as much as possible. Not float around but water exercises and moving ur body as much as you can. It will reduce the strain on ur body and allow you to move more freely while exersing parts of ur body that don't normally get used
TLDR: Amy likely only sees out of one eye at a time. Sorry, no super vision. Not sure if anyone has addressed this, but it seems Amy has what is clinically called Alternating Amblyopia. With Alternating Amblyopia, the extraocular muscles (medial and lateral rectus) are configured as to not allow the two eyes to point in the same direction, or "fuse" the images. The brain has learned to switch between the eyes (this is the "alternating" component), but cannot use them together or at the same time. If you look, you'll notice she is looking with one eye, then the other will snap into fixation and the other will deviate outward. Her brain is choosing to use one eye and completely ignore the other. In all truth, Alternating Amblyopia is pretty cool, considering the alternative is normal amblyopia, where the non-dominant eye is unused and if not treated from early childhood will result in various degrees of blindness in that eye.
About the eye thing: I don't k ow if it's the same for everyone, but my friend had the same issue before having surgery (one eye looking more to the side) and she said before having it fixed her vision was the same as now, the only thing is that she couldn't see 3d. So for example at the movie theatre if she were to wear those 3d glasses it wouldn't do anything. She also has perspective issues. The surgery didn't fix anything vision related, like she still can't see 3d. But her eyes are perfectly aligned now.
I truly enjoy these girls and their journey, it’s so hard once you go past a certain point to not give up and feel hopeless with weight loss. Hopefully, Tammy has just had a set back and will be ready to fight these battles again soon. I’m proud of them for having the moxy to take on the challenge!
One of our eyes is called the master eye because it dictates where the other eye is looking - in the same direction, all the time. Only one I've heard has two master eyes is Quiet from MGSV:TPP, but I do believe it's possible to have both be masters, whether by training or birth, so you can choose to only move one, if that's how it works. I've also seen people with the issue Amy has, where her inferior eye will veer out of control when looking past certain degrees. Man, way happy for Tammy not needing the walker. OB/GYN - Obstetrics/Gynecologist Bruh, her own place is her own place. Still gotta do stuff herself even if she's 10 feet away from family.
@@lauren7706 No idea myself. I usually focus on one eye, alternate between them or focus on the mouth, when I look at them at all. Kinda shy around people.
Me too. I was four hundred plus pounds but I'm also (literally) a huge scaredy cat. So instead of surgery, I eat healthy and walk. Lost sixty pounds so far
I totally get that. I suffer with chronic pain and fatigue, so I have a hard time keeping my house as clean as I like it. When I need some extra motivation to work through the pain I watch shows about hoarders. I used to be able to keep up with everything, just thinking about the house I grew up in. Since the pain and fatigue have gotten considerably worse, I just need more than that. I've learned to accept the fact that I'm never going to be able to keep my house spotless, and that's difficult because I have OCD and never wanted to live in a mess like the one I grew up with again.
Also the reason that melons usually taste gross in fruit salads is because to keep it fresh lemon juice/citric acid is used as a preservative and it makes it bitter
My son was the same way. He couldn't really see anything out of the one eye that would turn outward. But both of his eyes would do that. One would turn out and the other straight and look at him later and his other eye would turn out and the other was straight. They tried glasses at first to try and correct it but he ended up having surgery on both eyes to correct it.
Cross eyed person here---the ability to see in the peripherals is dependent on the kind of cross you have & the severity. In my experience, I haven't lost much, if any, of my peripheral vision. However, what I *have* lost is a degree of depth perception (how far away or close an object/item is). Weirdly enough, playing video games (especially FPSes!) has helped me with my depth perception! I'm sure that the experiences of other people are and can be different, but that's what mine has been like.
What is it called when your eyes have no depth perception and slightly bad eyesight but your not cross-eyed? I've seen an eye doc about it, but the ones in my area suck and barely passed schooling. They don't believe me.
@@skittles1586 I know astigmatisms cause issues with depth perception and only 1 of 3 eye doctors were able to diagnose my very slight astigmatism, it will also make your vision worse at night than at day.
Oh my God I just realize that Amy and Tammy’s dynamic is exactly the dynamic that my sister and I have. My sister is Tammy. Incredibly codependent, jealous, And honestly kind of two-faced. Oh my God the self-realization from watching this video has just absolutely blows my mind
Fun facts cuz I study biology and why not: Her eye condition is scientifically called amblyopia. People with this can either have one of their eyes looking another way, or their eyes look normal. However, this can’t really be fixed by wearing glasses as the problem isn’t with the eye’s retina or photoreceptors, which basically detect light to send signals to the brain through the optic nerve. The problem is that as the name suggests, the optic nerve is lazy and does not properly send the signals to the brain. Usually people with this see with tunnel vision through their dominant eye unless they cover their dominant eye. The weaker eye usually has blurred vision, no matter what the distance is from the object and the eye. Amblyopia doesn’t really have a cure but it can be improved during childhood. I also have amblyopia so 😂
My son's optical nerve never fully developed when he was a toddler so he had surgery to tighten the muscle straighten the eye and did eye patches for over a year. It was like torture because he couldn't see anything besides light and dark. And it never corrected his sight at all. He has one green eye and the other is more of a blue color, the girls like it lol (he's in highschool). The saddest part was when he was about 5 he went to the ophthalmologist and asked if he could go to the military to fly and the Dr said no. He was depressed for a while because that was his passion since he was 2. Now he's getting ready to start the fire academy at 17 but still wishes he could fly in the service.

As a rule,(here's an exception to this rule)your first thoughts the "8 lb in a month is great" comment, is correct. Now I'm not on board with the CDC as of the last several years, probably for about a decade now but this has been knowledge for quite some time and they recommend, as well as several different agencies.. 1 to 2 lb a week, 4 to 8 pounds a month is a healthy amount of weight loss that's recommend. If you go too far over that you'll end up gaining it right back, not to mention the health implications that could result of it. Slow and steady if you can help it. They may be trying to have her lose onward to 10-14 lb a month because of how obese she is, not saying that it's still healthy but for her she needs to lose several pounds to lessen her chances of deadly lung & cardiovascular problems. However someone who is morbidly obese and is immobile, without a walker, could lose a lot of weight easily if they literally just pushed themselves to walk a few minutes a day a few times a day, slow down on junk food and eat smaller portions (only smaller than what she was eating, not smaller as in a normal portion size for regular sized folk. Because she's so big she can't drop her calorie intake that low yet). I think this doctor is weighing outcomes against each other. If she doesn't lose several pounds fast she could die he would rather risk the health implications from her losing weight too fast vs what would happen if she didn't and possibly gains more UNDER HIS CARE. These weight loss doctors are pretty strict and they cut people who seem. It's just like if you incentivize crime or laziness, crime and laziness will be the result. If you enable her bad behavior, when she's asking for help, that's wasting your time and her money which can incentivize her staying "stuck" and possibly put the blame on someone else, like the doctor or her sister.
7:40 We have a Chihuahua and she is the calmest thing I've ever seen. At most she'll bark and grow at someone she doesn't know and probably snap...also when any other dog gets near her couch she growls and snaps...it is the cutest and funniest thing though. But, she doesn't go insane or attack really.
Optician here Exotropia is where the eye turns outward, considering how far turned out her eye is, she's got to be close losing sight in that eye. The nerve that attaches to brain cannot blend the image anymore, and shuts off the imput, so she doesn't get double vision. It can be surgically brought back, and in young children glasses can correct it quickly.
I normally don’t like these type of show but I discovered the sister when I was in the hospital over Xmas. They really are so wholesome. It’s just a breathe of fresh air.
A big thing in body language is if a smile doesn’t reach the corners of your cheeks it’s usually not a genuine emotion of happiness so I’m guessing the doctor really doesn’t give a crap 😂
it honestly is really nice to see them both wanting to make differences and going through it together. it really shows that with motivation you can get anything done
I love watching these two, because they feel so much more real and authentic than the rest of TLC/reality stars. They're just being themselves than playing for the camera.
My daughter had issues with her eye crossing when she was little and it took bifocals to correct it when she was 5. And she had great vision. Just needed glasses to correct the crossing.
My husband when he was a kid used to have a lazy eye, and when he taught himself how to shoot a rifle accurately it fixed itself on it's own. Of course now that he turned forty, he has to get glasses. He is not happy xD
These sisters are probably one most wholesome and funny sisters on tlc, can't help but be happy when their happy, they just radiate happiness and you also can't help to be sad for them when they are sad
It doesnt matter what Is the problem, if you don't want to help yourself nobody can help you and those around the person in need must learn this lesson to not feel guilty for whatever happens.

Talking about lazy eyes reminds me of wearing an eyepatch everyday to school around Kindergarten. I had a whole little speech prepared when I had to explain it. Oddly enough, apparently the adults were way weirder about it than the kids. They just accepted it.
I'm pretty sure the chips Buff is talking about are called Popcorners! Literally popcorn in chip form so no having to deal with the kernels! My favorite are the white cheddar ones :)
Yep, as others have written, my “lazy eye” has severe vision loss and I started wearing glasses before I turned 1. Got my first bifocals at age 20, then trifocals at 31. If I didn’t have glasses/contacts I would be classified legally blind. Also, when I’m tired or drunk, my right eye will “drift” even with glasses/contacts on! 🤓
Nobody that size can be comfortable. Our bodies are not meant to carry that much weight. Many practically suffocate due to their own weight sleeping and have to have a cpap to keep their airway open. They are addicts and need to be treated like any other addict. The only thing that sucks about it is the fact that you have to eat, the amount processed food out there, our increasingly sedentary life style and "nutrition deserts" that usually exist in poorer parts of town. It definently doesn't help the situation. It's a nationwide problem that we all are paying for
Some get this size through addiction, many others have a mental health issue that is undiagnosed or not being treated. Typically, addiction and mental health are not cured through the same means. Anyone this size needs to seek counseling from a mental health professional. Getting a bypass surgery isn't going to magically fix the issue if its psychological. My cousin had a gastric bypass 5 years ago and lost almost 200 pounds, but he has severe yet unmedicated depression. He has since gained more than he lost. It's sad but this isn't just an issue of addiction for most who get this size.
@@clint6716 My step sister and aunt had it too. Did ok for awhile but the risk of finding a new addiction caused a problem for one and unfortunately they both turned back to the overeating again. Either way like with addiction there is a mental health issue almost always occurring and like you said many just went from one addiction to a new one meaning the cause was never solved. I just think instead treating it as a lifestyle choice actually having groups support and maybe a time where they can step out of their life and find patterns that are leading them to overeat as well as having enablers and families who also offered counseling. They teach them about healthy boundaries as well as their family and triggers. As much as addiction center owners are just in it for money, I think it's time to try something new because the way it's going now doesn't paint a great picture for the future. Of course I am also big on more money being put into mental health care so anyone struggling can benefit and incidents of loss of life or loss of abilities to function in society can be managed and maybe turned around. Addiction and mental health issues are almost always intertwined and the reason they turn back to the addiction is because that issue was never solved. I see it over and over again in the hospital.
I mean it is an eating disorder. Binge eating disorder is a thing, and most people who are obese have it. Amy and Tammy have it. They use food as a coping skill instead of using healthier options. When I was in treatment for my eating disorder there were several binge eaters there and their mental health was just as bad as mine, some worse, some better. Until they get rid of using food as a coping skill they won't ever get better. Its like treating the symptom and not the disease itself. You have to do both.
@@katieweber5304 I see it under those circumstances too. It's kind of a special category. But it's that compulsion and need to eat to cope with unwanted feelings even knowing that it will kill them. That's how addicts are too. They are in pain physically, mentally, and spiritually and they take their drug of choice to cope with that pain or to silence it. People who are addicted to video games are found to do the same thing. Trying to escape those feelings they can't deal with. I don't know from a medical standpoint the majorly obese follow the same patterns as the addicts like the alcoholics. Underlying behavioral issues, trauma, saying they will quite but then demanding more and more food. They continue to be readmitted over and over for heart attacks strokes, bed sores, necrotic limbs due to uncontrolled diabetes eventually they end up disabled or already are, in a snf or nursing home at a young age and die. Same thing with meth addicts though their health issues differ but it's chf and strokes til they can't get out of bed any longer to get the drug, alcoholics it's an accident or they develop early onset dementia or debilitating strokes and it's the nursing home for them too. They start it early they end up crippled at an early age. Leaving it defined as it is now nothing seems to change. I don't know everything though so it's just my opinion really.
My son has a pretty extreme lazy eye. He's had bifocals since he was 3. When people with a lazy eye are focusing really hard, it makes their eye stray. So I'm pretty sure her eyesight's fairly bad. She probably sees doubles a lot and gets headaches often.
I think that'll make him stronger- I remember high school and prior, and most average students would automatically assume (please excuse my bluntness) that "lazy eye = retarded" which is most definitely NOT always the case, or necessarily even the norm. He will be picked on some, but if he's as intelligent as you sound then I think over the years it will teach him to deal with jackasses. It'll harden him into an absolute diamond. However, these days the whole push for anti-bullying has actually made a difference (nowadays, the person who makes a rude remark is the one who gets picked on, sorta the opposite of how it was until around a decade ago) and I think he may actually be able to make even more friends because good folks like to take the side of someone who is more susceptible to being picked on. Thank you for being a good mother in a strange, constantly-changing time/society, and I hope he becomes a role model amongst his generation! 😁
I have a lazy eye that I've been treated for over the years, your vision is actually worse as your lazy eye gets mostly ignored by the brain and your other eye gets stronger. Basically your depth perception sucks and vision on that side is often worse as well.
As someone who has a lazy eye I can say it doesn't really help me see to the side because I'm not really using the eye. It does make me lose my depth perception though
Ken, you should Google "dominant eye", i believe that just like your hands have a dominant side, so do the eyes, I think dominant eye determine what and where to focus, then the other eye fills I'm the gaps and helps with depth perception.
People do have dominant eyes. The way to determine it is you look at a static point (like a glass on the table, or a smudge on the wall, etc.) you make a hole with your hands (it's hard to describe without pictures, but you flatten your hands, cross one's fingers and thumb over the other, making a triangle-shaped hole) and look at the object through that hole. Keeping your hands still, you close one eye while looking at the object, and then do the same with the other eye. Basically, if you can see the object with one eye closed, that open eye is your dominant eye; if the object "moves" when you close the other eye, that open eye is the non-dominant eye.
@@DxC-95 Thanks for that info, I didn't know that method, that's interesting. My right eye is the dominant one. u? Also, clean that smudge off your wall ;D

It’s so upsetting to see how fun it was to watch these two interact with each other. I think Tammy needs something to work towards like Amy had in order to genuinely lose weight and get healthier. Like Tammy pisses me tf off but I am terrified for her
From someone who has a severe lazy eye, you get some extra range. It does impact vision as a whole negatively, but you do get alittle extra from it. It's impossible to sneak up behind me lol
Hey, so the "lazy eye" also called amblyopia affects the development of the eye. I am apart of the three percent of the population that is affected by it. It doesn't always look like a typical lazy eye, but essentially you just don't have strong enough eye sight in the affected eye(s). Basically it just looks ultra low res in my case. Amblyopia most of the time forces one of the eyes to work harder and compensate for the other eye. (As it is in my case). There are other types as well that experience other things, but as a person with Amblyopia I am sharing my experience. Sorry if this is a lot of not useful information for most people, I just get excited when I know something that most of the population has questions about.
I think the saddest part is that Amy mainly wanted to lose weight to have a baby... And Tammy tried so hard to hold her back and prevent her from getting the surgery. And even after Amy had her son, Tammy was still awful and acted jealous towards the baby
Oh she actually had a child? But Tammy,.. oh Tammy Tammy Tammy... what a horrible person, so disgusting.
Sometimes is better to stop contact with certain people , doesn't matter if it's family or not
@Olive it's disgusting. But there's videos all over UA-cam about it. Whenever Amy had her baby Tammy acted disgusted and was constantly jealous of all the attention baby gage was receiving. It's sad

@SakuraSunnnshine really? Oooerr
Any evidence?

Tammy never tried tbh
As someone who had a lazy eye like Amy: your mind blocks out the other eye that’s looking to the side. For me, 3D movies are a no because my eyes don’t work together and perceive depth. It’s basically like I have one eye but also another that tags along that I can kinda use

Thank you for sharing this! I went to the comments when Ken was asking about it and was really hoping someone would've spoken about their own.
There's a video on UA-cam by a woman who analyzes why Amy succeeded while Tammy failed so miserably.
Right, and shes just mad bc she doesnt have an enabler to feel like it's ok anymore.

Part of the therapy used to correct amblyopia involves training the brain to stop suppressing one eye, and using binocular vision.

I am so happy for Amy! Her sister probably struggles more because she doesn't have a strong motivation like becoming pregnant like Amy does. Amy: *getting her surgery*
Tammy: *blaming it on Amy*
I mean, Amy is to blame… for her own success! Lmao
Amy, suffering from success
That's super interesting!!

I also have amblyopia so 😂
You are very smort

My son's optical nerve never fully developed when he was a toddler so he had surgery to tighten the muscle straighten the eye and did eye patches for over a year.
Yeah, we call it lazy eye over here

Gynecology deals with womens general reproductive health (uterus, overy, etc)
When Amy was talking about how it was kind of a surprise for her Mom to be supportive and proud I felt that.
Optician here
Exotropia is where the eye turns outward, considering how far turned out her eye is, she's got to be close losing sight in that eye.

Kens mind: Tammy chasing a goat that escapes
In the words of the best ever Jedi Grandmaster “Do or do not there is no try.”
You two make me so happy and keeps me going and makes me smile through tough times. I always look forward to all your vids
Tammy has always been hateful. She's just a mean person. She's even jealous of Amy's son. Her own nephew.
Imagine being jealous of a child
A big thing in body language is if a smile doesn’t reach the corners of your cheeks it’s usually not a genuine emotion of happiness so I’m guessing the doctor really doesn’t give a crap 😂

Buff saying “Gosh Darn” was the most wholesome experience of this whole video🥲

Hey Ken! You should watch “How it’s actually made.”
Like tell Buff/Pewds that it’s a “Regular” how it’s made episode just to see their reactions
second this! those are so funny
Pewds already bamboozled himself with a Huggbees vid but idk if Buff has reacted to one yet
I was expecting Buff to make a “Joker” joke when she said “wanna know how I got these scars”🤣🤣
My husband when he was a kid used to have a lazy eye, and when he taught himself how to shoot a rifle accurately it fixed itself on it's own. Of course now that he turned forty, he has to get glasses. He is not happy xD
Yes!
I love to shoot!
I have to use both eyes, super accurate.
If I attempt to use only one, I can't hit anything.
I just wanna give buff pro a big hug. Bet its the best hug. Lol
I was just thinking that too!!!

I feel bad for Tammy. She probably felt overshadowed by her sisters success, and disappointed she couldn't keep up. Maybe her own pace was just slower
Unlike Amy, she doesn't seem like she has anything to fight for :/ it's sad
"because you can see your nose you're welcome."

These sisters are probably one most wholesome and funny sisters on tlc, can't help but be happy when their happy, they just radiate happiness and you also can't help to be sad for them when they are sad

I had a friend who's brain literally started to ignore his left eye. It went "lazy" and his right eye took over and he said his vision in his left eye was just blurry. Luckily, he had some type of laser surgery and optical nerve surgery and everything is fine now

Talking about lazy eyes reminds me of wearing an eyepatch everyday to school around Kindergarten. I had a whole little speech prepared when I had to explain it. Oddly enough, apparently the adults were way weirder about it than the kids. They just accepted it.
There was a girl in my primary school who had that, it never occurred to me to question it I was just like oh she just has that okay next
I'm pretty sure the chips Buff is talking about are called Popcorners! Literally popcorn in chip form so no having to deal with the kernels! My favorite are the white cheddar ones :)
Mine too! My mum introduced them to me and ever since then they're my go to semi light snack
Amy did everything she was supposed to do and put effort in. So i think she deserves the surgery.
Ken's face looking panicked when he's asking about her eyes XD
Yep, as others have written, my “lazy eye” has severe vision loss and I started wearing glasses before I turned 1. Got my first bifocals at age 20, then trifocals at 31. If I didn’t have glasses/contacts I would be classified legally blind. Also, when I’m tired or drunk, my right eye will “drift” even with glasses/contacts on! 🤓

Was about to head off to bed up this is more important than my health.
You can tell how much happier they are now that they are making some healthy life choices, they're sto wholesome
As someone with a lazy eye. We still only see forward. Our eyes may be off to the side but we still see like anyone else.
My dog is a chihuahua and everyone who meets her agrees she is the only chihuahua they can stand. She is such a sweetheart.
This is so wholesome, I just smiled through the whole episode, the end made me sad though
Amy: I lost a 100lbs
Me, an adult: Wow that's almost an entire me
Amy: That's the size of a small middle-schooler
Me: I mean yea, but also
Ken, you should Google "dominant eye", i believe that just like your hands have a dominant side, so do the eyes, I think dominant eye determine what and where to focus, then the other eye fills I'm the gaps and helps with depth perception.
My right eye is the dominant one. u?

It’s so upsetting to see how fun it was to watch these two interact with each other. I think Tammy needs something to work towards like Amy had in order to genuinely lose weight and get healthier. Like Tammy pisses me tf off but I am terrified for her
This reminds me of when they started big Ed and thought he was a wholesome dude, boys you don't know how much drama you're in for with this show.
Did you have to patch too?
That was fun to explain over and over when I was in Kindergarten. 😅
