Awww thankyou! My mom was always so proud of her fried dough and all her sisters, I think lol, said hers was the best too! I never really learned how to make it. Very yummy. I grew up in Massachusetts, now live in New Mexico where there is fry bread. I think they are similar. Thanks for your video!
I'm definitely going to try this for my family. Thank you for sharing your talents sug
Thank you so much for this recipe everyone on UA-cam had the measurements for a large family thank you for making this quick easy and simple and you are very entertaining

These are great with honey butter. My family always called these scones haha 😆
Imma try refrigerating my dough next time and making them thinner 🤔. They came out really REALLY good just super thicc and doughy. I put Maple syrup on em, so good! 🤤
Wonderful delious
Wow 😍🥰🤩
I was intrigued about fried dough after reading "The Grapes of Wrath".

Oml I'm 10 and I love to bake and cook and I'm SO excited to make this 😍👌
Any chance I can use an air fryer? If so how many degrees do you estimate
Nice
my grandma used to make these and serve with butter
Made this today, BEST THING EVER
How do you get yours so airy? You didnt use any yeast and when I tried this, they always ended up doughy inside and not very crunchy outside
can you make it without butter?
I enjoyed watching the video. I was wondering about the butter. You said “3 tsp of butter” but it looked like 3 tbsp going by the print on the butter paper wrap. Is that correct? Thank you.
Hi thank you for watching, and yes you are correct, I do have the correct amount of butter listed in the description box.
i crumble soft feta cheese put it on one half then fold and press along the edges to make a seal. try it with some cheese inside. you wont be disappointed.
What temp is the oil? Or rather what setting is burner?
temp around 350. Every stove is different as far as setting. I start it at high and then turn down to medium
thought you said bacon powder lol. im craving thisss
Bacon powder would give it a unique flavor for sure...lol
There's so many different things you could put ontop of different ones: Icecream, Butter & Jam, Butter & Honey, Butter & Cinnamon, Butter & Brown sugar & powder sugar, Peanut butter, Nutella. YUMMM!!! ;p
Oh I have a question... Can I add stuff for flavor to my raw dough? Like cinnamon and sugar while I'm kneading the dough?
I think adding cinnamon and sugar is a good idea. I never thought of it, but I don't think it would hurt to try it.
I'm in my forties and I've never had fried dough. But funnel cakes are pretty popular where I live. Is fried dough a regional thing? If so, where is it from?
I'm in my late 40's, we used to fry dough at home when I was a kid. and the fairs and carnivals have them. If you couldn't tell, I'm in New England area.
Its actually pretty much like Funnel cake fried dough is mostly from New England Boston area. I'm in NY now and everywhere I go we get Funnel cake not fried dough I must say I prefer fried dough over Funnel cake.
How will it effect the dough if there’s no baking soda?
guopboigaming do you mean baking powder?
@@ambergibson111 yeah
Subscribed because of "[brrr] my phone's goin' off"
Just divide your dough before frying, them it’s best to roll with a rolling pin....preparation is the key to these!
Thank you for the suggestion, However this is how I remember making them as a kid in the 80's, They are not meant to be perfect :)
Makes it too perfect lol
Lol thought she was about to say that time of the month😅
Are you sure you meant 3 teaspoons of butter ? in the video it looks like 3 tablespoons.
Hi Lisa. Thank you, It is 3 table spoons. My mouth did say teaspoon. Sometimes my brain and my mouth don't like to cooperate together and I don't catch it in the editing. Fixed in ingredient list also. Take care :)
I would like to know the amount of water...I can't hear that part well...please
3/4 cup room temp water
Rhode Island gets down too
Used to get a fair. Dont see too many anymore
No Yeast ?
No sir.
I'm hungry rn give me anything D: I have no powder sugar I can crush some D:
Now can you wisk the butter in?
I wouldn't use a whisk for the butter
Ok thank you!
I hear the Yankee....fellow Bostonian here
Mine came out like bricks didn't even get dark
She says 2 cups of flour but it is more like 2 1/2 to 3. Or else it is a sticky mess.
YASSSSSSSSSSSS QUEEEEEEEEEN
Another way I do it is make pizza dough
Yes, that works. Also if I'm feeling to lazy to make my own dough, pre-made pizza dough at the supermarket is ok.
That is "tablespoons" not teaspoons :D
Yes I'm aware. in the description it is correct. Back in 2018 my brain and mouth liked to disagree :)
Or just do pancake mix lol
Is that like elephant ears
le mien il etait mieux
Fried dough?😂 this is fried bread lol but you not ready for that
I've been calling it Fried dough since I've learned to make it in the late 70's...lol
LOLOLOL, of course she had to finish mixing off camera, never try mixing dough with a pastry cutter...what a gummy mess!
If you listened I used the pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour. I didn't fully mix the dough with it. But thanks for your comment.
So bad
Did not taste good!
Hi, out of curiosity what kind of oil did you use to fry?
@@highroller777 Canola oil
If you are using aluminum based baking powder you could be picking up a metallic taste.
The make aluminum free baking powders that don't taste "tinny".
You could also move to a yeast leavened dough
As some other comments pointed out she said 3 teaspoons butter, but added 3 tablespoons butter in the dough. Perhaps this was the problem.
Its dough, butter & sugar, believe me, they're good. Hahaha. Try again, you'll love them.
this recipe is a no go dont make it you will be sorry.
@Boom Tingz actually I do I'm a chef it's clear as day that it's a bad recipe.... she dident even use yeast to make the dough.... so obviously you dont know how to cook...
@@greenonyxgamingtv3420 I've watched a few videos and none use yeast, you can't be coming at family recipes like you know everything tbh
You know you can’t start a Grease fire with a electric induction😂 😂😂😂
