The chemo treatments that he had to undertake destroyed his angelic voice. I did not know him personally, but the very early Gaither music featured his lead voice. So gifted, so beautiful. Him SPEAKING those lyrics that he earlier had sang testifies to the GRACE of our LORD.

I bought the sheet music for, "This Could Be the Dawning of That Day," I think in the early 80's and wanted so bad to hear it sung but a group sing it. The first verse really fills me when I feel down. It reminds me that this is not our destination, just a temporary stop over on the way HOME. I am fond of Ernie singing, Redemption Draweth Nigh. I have worn a tablet out listening to Southern Gospel. It's is alive here just a few miles from the Canadian border in Western Washington State. The pattern didn’t fit...the colors didn’t blend...the quality was poor, broken threads I couldn’t mend...that garment that I had worked on so long, would soon be finished, and I had made it wrong. Then the Master Weaver walked by one day...He didn’t rip out the threads, I can still hear him say...I’ll just weave another pattern Roi d

As He started to weave...oh how the garment changed..loose threads, ragged edges, were all rearranged...that garment that I was so ashamed to wear, was becoming something beautiful as He wove with love and care.
