Love how he's sweeping up the muck, but not closed the flap properly still. Can see it sloshing out just as he starts sweeping. Even if he did get it locked, that bit of material sticking out the back is going to compromise the seal.

I'm thinking the flap was closed but the locks not all the way in. Then weight of water, which looks like he had near a full load, forced it open.

Would have to hit too wrong buttons simultaneously. Perhaps the alarm was going off for back flap, so he tried to get it locked, but pressed up instead of down.
