Exactly the same in my town. There was a Facebook group for us, but it was dead and the only people posting in it were... people spamming their business. As soon as I made I can't fire a group. Within months we'd hit 100 members, And our local Pokémon Go scene is flourishing again.
@oddeyesrebellion923 Nothing beyond the normal precautions you take when playing Pokémon Go, I think. Don't go to shady locations, and if you're ever uncomfortable, just move on, you don't have to stay in a place you arent comfortable. Generally, you won't be messaging people directly in private messages. You'll want to find a group for your local area, Which depending on the size of your town and its player base will mean you could have groups anywhere from a handful like three to four people to larger groups. As with anything online, if you're really uncomfortable, try to find a friend or someone you know in real life to come with you. At least for the first rate hour meet up or two until you get to know some of the people in the group for your area. I think generally campfire is pretty safe, though, because we have a pretty wholesome player base for this game. I know for my local group we've all gotten so comfortable with each other over the past year or so that we sometimes have people who offer rides to other players who don't have a car or can't drive yet to get to raid hours/days.
I'm one of the embassadors on the campfire here where I live. Here in Brazil we receive a Box with goodies and promo codes to distribute to the players. It's pretty cool. The goodies are pins, flags, shirts, plushies, pop sockets, stickers, post cards and so on.. and if the group level is high we get even a go plus+ on the box. It's pretty awesome, actually.
The Ambassador Program is awesome. We tried to apply for an ambassadorship with our local group, but the girl who applied got rejected, And nobody has really wanted to put in the time required to step up and do that role.
@@Snow-Willow Ask help for embassadors from other official groups. They can help you. My group didn't have the requirements, but one embassador from Rio de Janeiro got in contact with Niantic I think and we went official. Try it.

I'm so glad you made this video. Thank you. Campfire has been a game changer for me and our local community for the past year. Our local raiding scene was basically dead until I decided to make a group for our town and the small suburb town next to it Because I was only level 30 something and unable to solo raids by myself. And gosh darn it, I wanted those legendaries. And in just the past year alone it has exploded to 100 members and we have an active raid scene in town. I wish more people would use it instead of things like Facebook and Discord because it's so perfectly integrated into the game. It makes coordinating everything so much easier.
Loved this video! Thanks for sharing. I recently created a group where I live because there are a lot of players but if you don’t know anyone are visiting etc. there isn’t much coordination and something’s are even gate kept into a small subset of people. I have had some successful events recently and have even gone into the application process for CA. I am hoping for the best there, but honestly it has brought the community out and I am having a blast doing these. More people need to get into campfire. ❤ appreciate you!
The daily feed is waaay more powerful, it can be used to flex....BUT, in my local area we use that to call out hundo's. It's important to have notifications on and it's one of the most powerful additions. Here's why it's important: it's relevant, recent, and very accurate. When you share the catch card (that goes in the local feed) you can ONLY do things you caught in past 30 mins (relevant and recent). It also pins to the EXACT spot (accurate) the mon was caught....regardless where the device is (could be at home), provided you meet the 30 min. Because of this, I was able to get a hundo in another state....that my neighbor went and got and then I shared. It will notify your friends and anyone within 1 km of the post.....that's powerful.
@@trainerskulb00d Agreed. I will post the occasional shiny, if it's one that I'm really excited about, but for the most part, I use it for sharing locations for hundos and dittos I find.

Campfires biggest flaw is players don’t use it. I’m in LA and it’s pretty much dead here. I’ve been to San Fran and it’s popping over there. Depends where you live tbh.
Same. In Chicago and unless I've already met someone in person while playing pokemon go I almost never see any trainers while using this app unless it's a raid.
Despite of all cool feature I just hoping they also showing Pokestops, Having know Pokestop especially The Showcase is really help before planning go to outside.
Niantic Campfire has some issues lately but it's still a fine app. The biggest issues are that recently, hosts can get kicked from their own lobbies as soon as they're full, and the push notifications for full lobbies have been delayed by 5 to 10 minutes, which is an issue because if you don't accept a full lobby within 60 seconds it will kick you.
What campfire really needs is the times for every single raid that will occur for the gym that day. For me the worst part about raiding is coordinating on the fly because its mostly a guess...we need to know ahead of time what will be showing up so we can coordinate effectively. Unfortunately until then the apps kinda useful but Facebook or discord at 10x more useful for community building.
I use campfire a lot, specially for raiding, that way i met a lot of people in my vecinity who are up to help each other Now we have a what'sapp group for coordinating and inviting for remote raids
7:50 If they did remove the need to add those people to your friends list, that is new because I invited people to a local raid A month or two ago, and when I was the host, I was given my five friend codes, and I had to add them as friends and then invite them. Edit: Oh, yep. He clarifies that he's on her friends list now. That is the host adding you to their list, because Niantic gives them your friend code when you ask to join a raid.
I use the campfire app all the time. I travel with my work so a lot of times I'm in cities where I don't have a lot of people to do. Five-star raids so using the campfire app I've joined a lot of different groups. I'm still with friends with a lot of these people actually. I'm going to meet up with some tomorrow night
The app has many good features which maybe could not even work in pokemon go app which is full of bugs But since this 2023 Jun I started playing pokemon go again actively because is so important to see where the raids are I can see the whole city Also found very good community in my city who give free codes very nice pokemon go items in community days and organize events raid days etc + chat is very important too at least I can I ask my lucky friends that “are you living in the same country? No ? Sorry I delete you than “ 😅
I wish it was more global so it would be possible to join raids on more different times. But it’s still great that I can join where i live and in some countries around.
If you tap a gym to show in Pokémon GO, it has to be within 800 meters (basicly the distance u can see your map in Pokémon GO) if u can't open it in your game, it won't open it via campfire either. Also the button on the right bottom to show u the way to the gym has never worked for me before, it can never find the location it gives
i checked out the app and its really cool, but even though my area is pretty populated and i see people go in and out of gyms, noooo one uses it in my area. the only local meetup ive seen was a few towns over and only 3 people were interested.
