Thank you so much , my 06 has 208k miles and I have done all the fluids thanks to your motivational videos!
Now I want to make sure I don’t need to do this
My timing belt looks dirty and dry from the window

Muchas gracias por estos videos! They are super instructive! I really appreciate the takes where you actually show how to do the jobs! Is hard for people like me that is starting to learn how to do these repairs to even imagine how to do the things when they are just mentioned and then cut and appear all done!
Thanks for making sure on showing us how to get it done!

I am new to doing mechanical work but I am so impressed and also a little discouraged because i feel I will never get to your level !
I bought my Montero with 196k miles and kept it running good so far to 208k miles over 8 months
I did the transmission fluid , coolant flush , front and rear diff , transfer case , oil , and I am afraid to try something this big but I am going to keep learning and maybe eventually get to this level
    Planning and research is everything!

Great Job, very helpful Jim. I really appreciate your work and you sharing the installation. I REQUIRE my 2 young adult sons to watch your channel. One has a 2002 Montero Sport 4x4 V6 that we do ALL the work on together. We just completed the timing belt and water pump after watching your great informative video. He only uses the Montero to pull his boat to Lake Mead 5 or 6 times a year from Las Vegas and with189,000 still runs and drives GREAT. You help so many.......Thanks again. "HP"
Just for info, I lived in Manhattan Beach just down the road from you prior to retiring and moving to Las Vegas.

Excellent video. Montero's have many annoying "tricks" when working on them. Simple things like changing RHS plugs LOL. Anyway, some tricks I found were the crank angle sensor has a U shaped groove that sits either side of the crank angle timing plate (behind the crank pulley). At TDC the sensor is front and rear of the plate and cant be removed unless plate is rotated to clear it and likewise to reinstall the plate as I think you saw. Ok if neither is removed. Second trick is the accessory plate can't be removed due to 1 AC bolt. It is the one between C and the lower B bolts you show at the 35 minute mark. If you use a thin blade on a angle grinder and cut the AC mount ear off you will save 4 hours of work as no need to remove PS pump or aircon pump as you can now simply pull out accessory plate. Keep the little ear and use like a washer to put bolt back in. It does bugger all anyway. Goodluck to all who work on these demons 😂

I am going to focus on getting my Montero clean underneath and in engine bay then try to replace all the little simple things like hoses that are leaking / the transmission lines I noticed barely leak
