I had a 97 SH back in the early 2000s. Such a great chassis. It handles incredibly well and the ATTS makes it power out of corners different than any FWD car. Super smooth highway cruiser to. Just a really underrated coupe.

It is a very well done engine bay, that is for sure. There are so many works of art that people are creating these days, it's amazing to see the level and bar that has been set and people striving to meet or exceed it. This engine is a fantastic, simple example of all of that.

Big Mike, I have a 4th Gen that needs mad love and I don't have the time right now. Know anyone who can work magic that could rival yours if the price is right? Okay, maybe if a fraction of the price when compared to your sema build.
He's a great guy and definitely an inspiration. I always say that a chassis is just a canvas, and focusing too much on the what the chassis is rather than what the work of art completed is actually takes away from a build.

For the sake of conversation, do you mind explaining what you mean? As in, are you stating your opinion as in that this chassis shouldn't be modified utilizing any other powerplant than an H series, or are you just stating the original spec/engine code that the chassis came with originally?
@@BigMikeEdition I just think once you deviate from the engine series that the car was designed and produced with you have a Franken car which is fine, thats common and as I said I like the car and the K series are great engines like most of what Honda has built. I been considering the 5th gen. This is a beautiful car for sure much love
Welcome to the community and family here on my channel. I appreciate you watching and supporting the content here.
This car rocks, today I bought a 97 Prelude, one elderly owner so she's stock with 90.000 miles for $800. Blue as well! Searching U Tube for inspiration and I've found it with your vid. Much love to you both for sharing this car!
Oh wow! Great find! What state did you find it in? I'm so glad you found this video and got to learn about Chris and his build. Thank you for watching and liking and supporting this channel!
you lucky fuck no shot you paid 800
🙌 amazing video! Thanks Mike and Chris for this great inside take 💙
Thanks for watching and supporting this content! Chris is someone a lot of people can learn from and be inspired by.
I had a 97 SH back in the early 2000s. Such a great chassis. It handles incredibly well and the ATTS makes it power out of corners different than any FWD car. Super smooth highway cruiser to. Just a really underrated coupe.
Welcome to the family here on my channel. Russ. I appreciate you watching and subscribing.
@@BigMikeEdition Thanks man! Looking forward to more content.
Beautiful story! Thank you Big Mike and Chris.
I appreciate you
Love the channel and the way you interview. It’s very personal.
Thank you very much, Nathaniel. It means a lot when people can feel that. I treat everyone with respect and converse with them in a way so that they're comfortable doing the interview, and it's just that much easier when the person is super chill and cool like Chris is. Thanks for joining the family here on my YT channel, I look forward to reading your comments on the other videos/interviews/build episodes!
I love it , great build
Yes, definitely. And a really great guy, too. Thanks for watching and liking and supporting this channel! More BTS episodes dropping weekly!
2 of our prelude idols 🤘🏼
I appreciate the notion, but as for me I'm no such thing. It's bigger than just a chassis or a car to me, it's about inspiring people to realize that with patience, execution, details, and higher standards they can all build something timeless and inspiring.
@@BigMikeEdition yes this is facts I should’ve phrased it out automotive idols
This bb6 so clean I have to see it in person
Much love big Mike you give these preludes some love I feel like the import scene leaves the preludes out 🙏
Yes, it is lovely to see in person. Thanks for watching and liking and subscribing and all of those things to support the channel and the content I create to benefit the community and culture. I appreciate you.
what a beauty great set up, picked a really nice car to work on, I totally get the shape/style of it and the owner kept it as is.
Yea, Chris did a fantastic job on it.
Engine bay is A1
It is a highlight of this build, that's for sure. Welcome to the channel!
Love the car but got damn this interview feels like he’s interrogating this guy
It's a conversation filled with questions that fans and enthusiasts have been asking about Chris and his build. An interrogation, no. A series of questions, yes. Chris and I have been friends for years now. Take the time to check out his IG, and thanks for watching. Much more content has dropped since this episode and there are a ton more on the way.
I'm super happy I took the time to watch this, beautifully done my friends 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you for taking the time to watch and share it with your people. It was fun making it with Chris and his build.
Legendary collab!!
Thank you! And thank you for watching and supporting this channel and content! New episode drops this weekend!
That’s the cleanest engine bay I’ve ever seen in my life.
It is a very well done engine bay, that is for sure. There are so many works of art that people are creating these days, it's amazing to see the level and bar that has been set and people striving to meet or exceed it. This engine is a fantastic, simple example of all of that.
Wow beautiful project! 👍🏻👍🏻
Yea Chris did a fantastic job on this. You can see other projects I'm working on and with on my IG as well, see you there! And thanks for watching and joining the family here on my YT channel.
Big Mike, I have a 4th Gen that needs mad love and I don't have the time right now. Know anyone who can work magic that could rival yours if the price is right? Okay, maybe if a fraction of the price when compared to your sema build.
Where are you located?
So Cal, just remembered you're out of Texas right?
@@LukeTeel No, Chris in this video is from Texas and I was over there. I'm based out of southern CA.
Love it, an inspiration to the chassis.
He's a great guy and definitely an inspiration. I always say that a chassis is just a canvas, and focusing too much on the what the chassis is rather than what the work of art completed is actually takes away from a build.
@@BigMikeEdition thanks for sharing, and thank you for your contribution to the community.
@@IAutoEnthusiast You're welcome and thank you for the kind words and watching and liking this video, as well as sharing this channel with your fellow enthusiasts. Do you happen to listen to podcasts?
@@BigMikeEdition I do from time to time, is there one that you would recommend?
@@IAutoEnthusiast Yes, actually. The Think Bigger Podcast, hosted by Big Mike 🙂 You can find it on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, iHeartRadio, as well as on ThinkBiggerProject.com - Episode 16 is called "I Did Not Build a Honda Prelude" - that may be one you'd find interesting to start with ;-)
I wanted to see the walk around on the car
Awesome
These Preludes are timeless. Beautiful color. I wish Honda would bring back Preludes.
I dig these chassis, too. Thanks for watching and supporting this channel. More content to come!
Amazing color I could get lost in that blue
Yea, it is a lovely color and the paint job in this car is quite good.
That was sick Big Mike!!
Thank you, Lawrence. I appreciate you watching and liking the video and supporting this channel!
Amazing build. Glad I was able to see this in person at Wekfest SJ. Along with meeting Chris & chatting up with him. Hope to see this soon again!
Yea, the car is fantastic, but the person behind it is what makes it stand out the most. Thanks for watching and liking and supporting this channel!
Great video dude! Keep hustling
Thank you very much. There is SO much more content dropping, so stay with us! New episodes this weekend AND Monday!
What wing and skirts are on this prelude they look amazing
They are Mugen
@@BigMikeEdition they look great
that engine is so damn clean
Yes, it really is. Thanks for watching and supporting this channel and for the kind words on Chris' build!
Such a nice build 👍🏻
It definitely is, but the owner and how he carries himself is what makes it all that much better.
@@BigMikeEdition oh yes, for sure! That is reflected in his build 👍🏻
@@MimmsHondaDay Definitely. You know how I am about nice, good people... LOL I want them to get more credit haha
Beautiful prelude
It sure is.
Beautiful car.
It really is. And Chris is a great guy, too
Glad I found your channel. Mike I remember when you took 1st place for your 4th Gen lude at a Turnerr Evolution show for your unique custom build. That was like 10 years ago '
Welcome to the channel and the family! I look forward to you watching the other episodes and reading your comments on them, as well.
Sorry to be a pain Big Mike but can I ask what hood struts Chris used to allow the hood to stay up without using the stock hood set up? Thank you.
Hey there again. Once again, I'm so glad you found this video and got to learn about Chris and his build. I don't recall which hood struts he used specifically, but there are a few companies that make them for the Prelude. So what state did you find your Prelude in? And once again, thank you for watching, liking this video, and subscribing to support this channel!
Respect from Poland- LUDE LOVE
Thank you for watching and liking and supporting the channel. Welcome to the family here!
Nice, would like to see it in person!! 🤩 , we should make a prelude meet some time in the future
Where are you located?
@@BigMikeEdition Houston
Bro thet 5thGen sik 👌
The build as a build is quite solid and well-rounded, I agree.
MK4 GOAT interviews MK5 GOAT
I appreciate the love. But I'm not the GOAT of a chassis, my friend. In fact, "I Did Not Build a Honda Prelude" - listen to Ep. 16 of the Think Bigger Podcast to understand 😎
looks great, but he gave her no juice at the end
His driving style is exactly like his personality: calm, mature, chilling.
Beautiful car, and I love the K-series engines. But an H belongs in this.
It just kind of blunts the value and novelty of it. I personally like the "purist" angle and keeping the H series in a Prelude thats all. Im a Prelude owner myself. I used to have a 07 TSX with the K24A2, I loved that car.
@@Ccastine9 What happened to your TSX?
Who did your Kswap?
This is a BTS interview and conversation with Chris and his Prelude. The channel that you are on is my YT channel, but in this episode it is about Chris' car. You can reach out to him for specific questions about his build that weren't answered in this episode. Thanks for watching, I appreciate you.
I still have my Prelude ‘98 Type Sh. ‘97 Integra GSR HKS exhaust and turbo, ‘06 Accord Coupe V6, and a ‘96 Accord Wagon. All have manual transmission. Yes I love Honda, the one I miss was my Yellow AP1 S2K it had a Paxston Supercharger JIC suspension TE37 rims my girlfriend at the time raced a Ferrari and wrapped it around a tree. She lived, I didn’t get another S2K unfortunately
Your car love runs deep. Welcome to the family here on my channel. I appreciate you watching and subscribing.
Great content Big Mike! An amazing build Chris, love everything about it...just awesome all around. I was a DSM guy from the start(and still love them) but the 4th gen Fresco Blue was my first love once I entered the Honda club back in 2002. I still have it to this day and can't seem to let it go no matter how many times I said I was gonna sell it...as you can see it in my profile pic. Big Mike, love your first gen btw. Great job to you both👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you, Chris. It's awesome you still have yours. I dig DSM builds, as well. Thanks for joining the family here, as you can see I've dropped many episodes since this one and there are more on the way!
I miss my 5th gen seeing this
Perhaps its time to get another one? Thanks for joining the family here on YT. More episodes dropping this week!
My first car was a black 1998 Prelude SH used with 25k miles clean. I loved that car to death, I also was in High School in the late 90s too. No lie my 40yr old ass shed a few tears watching this. This is the nicest Lude I have ever seen!! Thank You brother!!! 🔥🙏🏽
Thank you for watching and liking the video and subscribing to the channel. Your emotional reaction means a lot in that the quality of the content is resonating with people. Chris and his build are great and provide value to the community. Please feel free to share this channel with your peers and fellow enthusiasts. Welcome to the family!
Wowww i am amazed by your build. The prelude def is one of best well built honda made in the 90s. Ive owned an SH and i loved it but the h22 just wasnt reliable enough for me. I always said if i was to get a prelude again, it would be k swapped. All the parts on this prelude is top notch. Engine bay is super sickk. Just wish thy made it lighter and rwd/awd
I'll make sure to tell Chris about your compliment here on his build 🤜
What about the engine mounts can i get a set can't find anywhere!?
Are you talking specifically about mounts for a K-series into a 5th gen Prelude? HASPORT makes them. Contact them and ask for Brian and tell him Big Mike sent you. 👍
