My late husband and I saw Girlyman open for Indigo Girls about a year before he died of cancer -- we even got their signatures on the CD we bought -- and now this song haunts me..."your mind with all its weird jokes, your hand restless, reaching for another smoke." Miss you, babe, you looked so cool in your Girlyman T-shirt.
Can anyone help me out with the lyrics? The last section they do a duet and the guy sings a different part. I understand the first three sentences, but not the beginning of the fourth where they link up words. I just don't understand about three of the words he says after "can you see how I miss you so" I want to think it's "was there something" but not lined up with the lead. Maybe you guys have better ears than me. Thanks!
