You can do it on iOS but you need to jailbreak.

When I play and put an engine behind a separator when I launch the engine disappears so I can't have another stage of my rocket that has another engine
When you add more fuel it actually makes it heavier. It doesn’t increase the weight as much as if you were to just clip more tanks on because the task itself has weight to it, so this is a good way to make things more efficient. But it’s not infinite fuel unless you constantly fill it back up each time it runs out, you can edit mid flight as long as you close the game.
Editing mid-flight, I find, unbelievably difficult

@@iamgirlfromsweden1459 its not entirely a feature, its a bug accepted by the devs as a feature because they thought it would spark creativity in the ios community because they dont have bp editing, so they allowed it

after i updated my game to 1.5 after 1.4.06 all my bp edited stuff got really messe up.
You're not alone my friend
You can have infinite fuel without fuel tanks or sandbox feature, just BP edit a engine and you'll see engine on: false and... You know what to do!

You could do it manually or have 2 different saves and only edit the code on 1 of them.

When you add fuel into the tank, will it get heavier? Because I know that a fuel tank gets lighter when the fuel burns away. So if I would set fuel to a ridiculously high amount like 20000.0, would the fuel tank weight 20000x as much?
Edit: Well... I found out. Being a complete megalomaniac, I created a giant rocket with a lot of fuel and got a result of about 100 000 tons...
And now I finally know how to BP edit :D

Though when you BP edit more fuel it increases the weight of the fuel tank

EDIT: you can obtain the RTG and Battery placeholder by renaming a part to Placeholder RTG(idk about the batteries, load a 1.4 bp with batteries)
