I will be doing this on my 2002 Clio MK2 in the next few days.... The car failed the MOT for offside front shock absorber (leaking). I am hoping to save my self a couple of hundred pounds. I have bought a second hand strut (already assembled with the spring). Hoping it is as easy as it looks in the video! One question though.... are the struts pretty standard? The one I have bought has come off a 1.6 petrol Clio MK2. I am assuming it will the same as for a 1.2?
I've just finished. Getting the bolts out was the most difficult bit. I replaced the whole assembly as one (I bought second hand with springs already fitted). The whole job took me about two hours (one side only). Money saved, about £260! It is a good video. Answering my own question, the strut is identical between 1.2 and 1.6 litre. One question, the torque setting for the bolts, 180Nm seems very high. I tightened to 105Nm. Should I go for 180Nm?
But you're really making people crazy already. 4:31 here is also an important tightening torque. According to you, about 0. 5:29 to 180 to maybe you can't think seriously. 😡

Ok, nice, but you need to show to as the top of the shock absorber when car seat on the ground.
