@FatalPies A lot of my choices are somewhat based on what bands I like and how frequently I've listened to those bands. Crimson Glory is far from being one of my favorites. I suppose that if it's a contest for you then you can always watch American Idol. There are plenty of great, cheesy singers who sing in cheesy bands with cheesy songs. You can consult some "authority" figure to tell you what to like, or you can always be honest with yourself by thinking for yourself. Maybe you'll live long enough to figure that out someday, boy.
Scanning through all the comments and no one having Ozzy anywhere is a bit surprising to me. He has such a pure heavy metal voice that is very underrated to me.
My #1 is Ronnie James Dio. (In no particular order) Rob Halford Bruce Dickinson Blaze Bayley(Yeah him. Deal with it) Matt Barlow Tim Owens Tony Martin Warrel Dane Eric Adams Zak Stevens (Edge Of Thorns alone) Steve Grimmett Tony Moore(Thundersteel!!!) Tony Harnell Roy Kahn Ray Alder Chuck Billy Glenn Danzig Biff Byford Peter Steele
1. Dio - So much range over an amazing career. Met Dio and he was so nice. It's a no brainer for me. 2. Rob Halford - I love Stained Class. My fav. Priest record. I also love Fight. Yes, Into the Pit. 3. Geoff Tate - Such a moody, sonic voice. A bummer the band went stale. But the first 5 'ryche albums. Perfect. 4. Ozzy - A unique and distinct voice. Ozzy Sab is the coolest. THE coolest. 5. Dokken - Yup. Under Lock and Key. Although it was Up From The Ashes that got me into Dokken. 6. Paul Di'anno - I heard Paul Maiden before Bruce Maiden and, it's just how it is. Bruce is great, just not for me. 7. UDO - Such a weird aggression with UDO and Accept. Son of a Bitch! 8. Joey Tempest - After The Final Countdown I can do without. But early Europe is so great! 9. Tarja Turunen - Jaw dropped when I heard Oceanborn. I'm not the biggest power metal fan, but I love her voice. 10. Mike Patton - Sure, Faith No More is fringe. But his voice is so unique. So dangerous and powerful. Klaus Meine, Matt Barlow, Dee Snider, Rock n' Rolf Kasparek (not the best singer, but I love Running Wild that much)
In no particular order: Ronnie James Dio Rob Halford Bruce Dickinson Geoff Tate Russell Allen Midnight Jorn Lande Andy Kuntz Tom Englund Roy Khan For the gals: Floor Jansen Brittney Slayes Simone Simons Noora Louhimo Sharon den Adel Melissa Bonny Clementine Delauney Ida Haukland Kobra Paige Cristina Scabbia
Good to see u guys. One of my fave vocalists has always been both Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. For the last few days, that's changed. Until I started binge listening to Whitesnake last couple of days. David Coverdale is so awesome.
@@benedictdonald4338 I don't get that sense at all. I've loved Hudson Valley Squares, Monster's Den, Friday Funhouse, and he posts on average 3 or 4 videos a day. This year is channel has skyrocketed from about 10K to over 60K subscribers. Pete seems energized and has lots of new and exciting content,
One guy that I am always surprised who doesn't get named in these is D.C. Cooper (Royal Hunt, Silent Force). Rumor has it he was in the running for the Judas Priest gig before he decided to go with Royal Hunt. Anyway, my list in no particular order...DC Cooper, Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, Geoff Tate, Joey Belladonna, Ray Alder, Ronnie James Dio, David Coverdale, Michael Kiske, Todd La Torre.
Love these videos you do together! Obviously you have to mention the big 3 of Dio, Bruce, and Rob but I have to mention Bobby Blitz and Joey Belladonna not only because I'm a thrasher but they both really have a crazy range and do some crazy screams which I just love. Also, metal obviously includes a number of sub genres so Chuck Schuldiner, Jeff Becerra, and Jon Tardy should be brought up for the extreme side of things as well. Rip Ronnie, Chuck, and all the other greats.🤘

Suzuka Nakamoto of Babymetal will be on this list someday. Their first album was recorded when she was 13 or 14, she's only 23 now. A woman's voice isn't even fully mature until the late 20s. I mean, if you consider her Metal. She is a pop singer in a pop-metal fusion group :) But the girl can sing. She was only 16 here ua-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/v-deo.html

Ozzy is more of a frontman than an actual singer. That's why Sabbath was able to expand their sound with Dio and Tony Martin. Ozzy was very limited.
@@johnstrika9170 your smoking hella dope. What cause he doesn’t have that high pitch 100lbs sack of shit sound he don’t count!?! come on son
@@bodhi8297 Agree man.
My #1 is Ronnie James Dio.
(In no particular order)
Rob Halford
Bruce Dickinson
Blaze Bayley(Yeah him. Deal with it)
Matt Barlow
Tim Owens
Tony Martin
Warrel Dane
Eric Adams
Zak Stevens (Edge Of Thorns alone)
Steve Grimmett
Tony Moore(Thundersteel!!!)
Tony Harnell
Roy Kahn
Ray Alder
Chuck Billy
Glenn Danzig
Biff Byford
Peter Steele
Klaus Meine, Matt Barlow, Dee Snider, Rock n' Rolf Kasparek (not the best singer, but I love Running Wild that much)
In no particular order:
Ronnie James Dio
Rob Halford
Bruce Dickinson
Geoff Tate
Russell Allen
Midnight
Jorn Lande
Andy Kuntz
Tom Englund
Roy Khan
For the gals:
Floor Jansen
Brittney Slayes
Simone Simons
Noora Louhimo
Sharon den Adel
Melissa Bonny
Clementine Delauney
Ida Haukland
Kobra Paige
Cristina Scabbia
Great choices guys
Good to see u guys. One of my fave vocalists has always been both Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. For the last few days, that's changed. Until I started binge listening to Whitesnake last couple of days. David Coverdale is so awesome.
If I see Pete in the title I watch. Great discussion.
Agree$. But his own channel is suffering of late. He’s clearly run out of topics….hard to watch it these days.
@@benedictdonald4338 I don't get that sense at all. I've loved Hudson Valley Squares, Monster's Den, Friday Funhouse, and he posts on average 3 or 4 videos a day. This year is channel has skyrocketed from about 10K to over 60K subscribers. Pete seems energized and has lots of new and exciting content,
@@benedictdonald4338 guess we can't please everyone. I'll say I have NOT run out of ideas...far from it.
David Wayne from Metal Church, this guy was the real deal
No Devin Townsend? Regardless, I've been following the content from both of you and loving it. Great video and I'm looking forward to more!
Yep, he was in my honorable mentions at the end.
How about Klaus Meine (Scorpions), Eric Emery (Meytal), or David Coverdale
1. Rob Halford (Judas Priest)
2. Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
3. Udo Dirkschneider (Accept, U.D.O.)
4. Ronny James Dio
5. Marcel Schmier (Destruction)
6. Sabrina Classen (Holy Moses)
7. Gerre (Tankard)
8. Ozzy Osbourne
9. Mike Patton (Faith no more)
10. Lemmy (Motörhead)

Hey Bryce, really dig your channel. Just letting you know, I bought Tooth and Nail on cassette the day it came out and that is the original cover. To my knowledge that cover was on cassette only.

Great list both of you. I would’ve liked a “Heavy Metal” specification though y’all should do a Death/black, prog, nu, Metal etc list
A very subjective title !!
It encompasses many anomalies of a vocalist, front man, stage craft and performer. And many other aspects.
Im sure the best will come from the 70s & 80s.
Killer era.
Love your video Pete.
Cheers guys.
