yeah its like pawn shops. You'll either get "yeah there's no market for this so i can't resell it" or "There's so many of these everyone has one and i can't resell it" Although the last one doesn't apply that much to cars.
Im so sad that filthy franks meme machine has been left abandoned on some airstrip, the owner isn’t willing to sell and it kills me to see one of the legends that got me into cars, as undesirable as it is, rotting in a field. Rest in peace.. sweet prince.
Hey CCF, Just so you guys know, there was a turbo FB released in certain markets only. Not sure of the production numbers but it was very limited. It is called a RX7 GTX Turbo. I believe only offered in 84’ and 85’.
I will never forgive highschool girls for what they did to NA miata prices due to popups suddenly being cute or whatever. I mean they're right, but I'm still mad about it.
1:10 im a massive FB guy only thing keeping it cheap is why old german sedans are cheap is because the maintenance is super expensive and for just a little more u can get something newer n better
I would disagree with that claim. There's just not enough interest in NBs to be collectible. I mention in other responses for this video that this episode is about "Cult Classics". Cult Classics are cars that only a small group of enthusiasts like, for a variety of reasons. However, since that group is so small and so educated on the car, they can't justify paying higher prices for them like traditional collector cars pull. The FB is actually a great example. They are too old, need too much work, parts are too tough to find, and, most importantly, there's just not enough interest in them from a larger pool of people that would increase the values. I can't remember the last time I heard someone see an FB and have much to say about them. Not even much nostalgia for them like you hear people mention about the Starion. Several Porsche 911s epitomize what a true collectible is. Integra Type R, Supra, M3s, etc. You can put the time and money into these cars and likely get your investment back, or potentially make money. That's not happening with Cult Classics. Those groups of people don't mind knowing their time and money spent to restore them will be lost. The "loss" is worth the enjoyment. Pretty neat distinction.
@@poinendev2932if you watch the original starion TV ad, it starts with a picture of a galaxy and some magic girl teleports the car to earth, supporting the astrological name origin. But at the end of the video, there is a logo that says starion with a giant horse head. This logo was never seen again. This logo, was the Engrish mistake on the graphic designer part, and where the myth comes from. The myth was allegedly perpetuated by Toyota executives who thought it was hilarious.

@gav0691 Ah, ok. You proved what I suspected about these Cult Classics. There are some people who would like one but they aren't willing to pay too much for them. That's completely different for true collectible cars like 911s, several 90's Japanese cars, etc where people are willing to $50K+. Interesting difference. Thanks for responding! I appreciate it!
I don't know a whole lot about the other cars on this list but as for the Starion, Netgear is kind of right. I've been hunting after a starion for quite a long time and the fact that there are so few good ones out there and their prices being way too much for what the car is just makes it a pipe dream. Also the fact that NOBODY makes anything for the car in terms of aftermarket is extremely offputting.
I haven't seen a ford probe in the wild for ages. I think the last one I noticed was this pristine purple GT that was obviously somebodies baby and it was such a blast from my high school days. For as many as they sold, I am really shocked I don't see them very much.
3:20 once saw a AMC Eagle wagon parked in front of the Paramus Mall, it was clearly being used as a daily driver, was in decent condition, and, I’m pretty sure was a one owner car. I took pictures
Does the new Gr86 doing everything the FRS does but better hurt the possible climb? If toyota would of kept with rwd corollas for a bit, I assume the 86 would be forgotten for whatever would of come in the 90s, and be seen almost as an s12.
I drove passed a mint Starion for a year in 2018 until I found out it sold for $1600. I regret not buying it everyday and the price jumped up almost immediately after it sold
