Active player's abilities hits stack first and you can order those. then non-active player's abilities hit the stack, thus non-active player's abilities resolves first. saw this come up a couple times :) fun game!

Triggers are done by APNAP Active Player Not Active Player order, the Active player puts theirs on the stack first then the Not active player puts theirs onto the stack so the players whose turn it is not will resolve first before the active player but this at 36:00 the stack was not complex so it doesn't really matter. And does not detract from the video. Great to see a tatyova deck being played
Turn players’ triggers are always put Onto the stack before anyone else’s, which means they always resolve after anyone else’s. You don’t get to force an opponents trigger to resolve after yours
My first deck was (still one of my favs) tatiyova so finally seeing someone play a game with her makes me happy I made her as good as I can with my budget

Your Volrath dies to Dragon Tempest befor your Crypt Ghast comes back. You can choose the order of your own triggers but the Trigger of the non-activ Player resolve first, so tempest kills your Volrath and than your Mana Crypt trigger/ sheoldred trigger ;-) Also Jacob can stack tempest and Miirym in the order he wants as Lathliss enters... tempest hits stack than miirym ... so the copie comes and triggers Tempest again and he can deal 2x X damage ( 6 and 6 instead of 5 and 6 for example) ;)
Was fun to watch Jacob win with the sneak attack deck. My first ever professional deck in vintage runs 4 of them, gambles to find them, moxes, double lands and ofcourse sol ring to play it on second turn and kill your opponent with a berserking, flying, trampleing dragon with double strike to your face on third - gg! Fun part is, playing against your friends, everyone eventually knows, killing the sneak attack, is ALWAYS a priority! 😁

Joe did it right. Gatherer text says “any target”. A lot of older cards got Oracle/Gatherer text updates to “any target” once planeswalkers came out. This is one of them.
One of the best landfall tricks I like to use is to respond to the trigger by sacrificing a fetch so you can thin out your deck by 3 cards (the only time you don’t want to do that is if you want the actual top card of the deck
Very funny hearing a Tatyova player say 'that deck looks too hard to play!', but I run a Tatyova 'combo' deck where the deck is mostly different combo pieces, tutors and ramp, with most of the card draw coming from cheating lands into play, it has a nigh endless number of infinite combos if you count all the different ways you can get there, including the different payoffs, It's incredibly hard to play it optimally sometimes because of how complex some of the interactions are. At the core I use various ways to bounce my own lands, including some Moonfolk, so most of my infinite combos are land ETB based ones, though the deck has others like infinite extra turns and infinite mana via untapping stuff. It's a blast to play, but I usually figure out several better lines after I finish playing, so it's also a bit humbling.
I wanna see Jacob be the blue brother in a live action remake of Double Dragon!!! Yes... that videogame speaks volumes for my age. 😢😅 But seeing a new age movie adaptation would be pretty epic.
Every one’s hair and clothing game was on point. The mono black & dragon decks were terrifying. I would’ve loved to have seen Ashlynn’s deck pop off. Becca’s deck was cool, but what was her win con?
After checking her decklist: Jace, Wielder of Mysteries or Lab man to win when you draw your deck Tatyova will draw you with a landfall that you can trigger infinitely with either 1) Bounceland + Creature that taps to put a land from your hand (i.e. Sakura Tribe Scout) + Retreat to Coralheim 2) Kodama of the East tree + Token maker per landfall (I.e. Scute Swarm) + Bounceland Outside of drawing the deck for the instant win the amount of tokens produced make combat wins viable Hope that helps 👍
Another option would be using something like the loop above for infinite mana from lotus cobra then bounce every other permanent on board to hand using capsize (including their lands btw) From here you can do it every turn and no-one gets to play the game
Some constructive criticism as a first time viewer and after watching multiple EDH channels: top down views should take precedence over seeing the players. Came to watch EDH, but had a hard time following the board states since the camera rarely stuck on the top view.
As long as this show has been going on we prioritize the hang out over gameplay. This is definitely more relaxed environment but there are definitely plenty of shows that stick with that format. I don’t mind the criticism at all just letting you know how it’s been done over here at TTJ and will continue. We are just here for the vibes and hope you come along for the ride! The only thing I'd be sacred of regarding Volrath the Fallen is one of the big cost demons just sitting in the hand. Anything with an X value for CMC treats X as being 0 so it's not as bad but if you can play the card and pay an X value it could go VERY scary very quickly with Mono-Black.
Its okay that they dont know how the stack works and how apnap works and where they should be holding priority and when they should be allowing certain parts to resolve before others, thats fiiiiine. (It is, theres 2 newbies and no judge present) But jacob if joe feels like passing it on to you, when doing dragon tempest sneak attack you can hold your priority alongside stacking triggers to allow the tempest to count the total numbwr of dragons at the end of the stack by being the last things to resolve (meaning if 9 total dragons in the field and 3 etbd through SA you would respond to the etb each time with a new SA and itd do 3 procs of 9 rather than a 7,8,9)
Totally agree! I currently own somewhere around 28 decks, and Aesi is my #1 pick when shit gets real! Nasty potential, control, ramp and wincons. Simic have it all! I normally close out games with extra Turns loops and multiple landfall triggers! It works like a well oiled machine! 👌🏻

Jacob should have made two 5/5 tokens when he played his last dragon. He had two Lathliss Dragon Queen's out. Also Beccas best play was to evacuate hope he cast a creature so she could make him waste some mana and do it in response. If he had less red mana he may not have been able to Dragon Tempest her out.
36:55 Yeah Joe was kinda cheating there to save his creatures. He's seasoned enough to know priority...he's hosted at least two UA-cam channels for commander and he plays all the time. To claim ignorance about priority is foolish. His sheoldred and mana crypt go on the stack. Then the next players, then the next, then tbe next. And then resolve in reverse order. Once the dragon enchantment trigger is on the stack then he can respond to it, but he can NOT decide he wants to put his sheoldred trigger over Jacobs enchantment.... -_-
He won't look at anyone in the eye when he goes and describes his actions that are him cheating. He just stares at his board. He knows what he's doing. Like I said, claiming ignorance is complete nonsense and disrespectful to his guests, his channel, and his watchers.

Dragon tempest damage is checked on resolution so you can hold priority and put all the lathliss triggers to resolve fist and do a TON of damage

(It is, theres 2 newbies and no judge present) But jacob if joe feels like passing it on to you, when doing dragon tempest sneak attack you can hold your priority alongside stacking triggers to allow the tempest to count the total numbwr of dragons at the end of the stack by being the last things to resolve (meaning if 9 total dragons in the field and 3 etbd through SA you would respond to the etb each time with a new SA and itd do 3 procs of 9 rather than a 7,8,9)
So I built a tatyova but then I tried aesi as the commander and it was so insanely better that tatyova didn't even make the cut into the deck.
Totally agree! I currently own somewhere around 28 decks, and Aesi is my #1 pick when shit gets real!

I normally close out games with extra Turns loops and multiple landfall triggers! It works like a well oiled machine! 👌🏻

The newest one is with ancient green warden, mystic sanctuary, splendid reclamation, scapeshift and lotus cobra for infinite landfall triggers and with a concordant crossroads and field of the dead I hit with infinite hasty zombos
Jacob should have made two 5/5 tokens when he played his last dragon. He had two Lathliss Dragon Queen's out. Also Beccas best play was to evacuate hope he cast a creature so she could make him waste some mana and do it in response. If he had less red mana he may not have been able to Dragon Tempest her out.
Should've responded to the upkeep trigger being on the stack to deal damage, that would've killed it.
I like the set up better than the old one where there were 2 spectators.

Yeah Joe was kinda cheating there to save his creatures. He's seasoned enough to know priority...he's hosted at least two UA-cam channels for commander and he plays all the time. To claim ignorance about priority is foolish. His sheoldred and mana crypt go on the stack. Then the next players, then the next, then tbe next. And then resolve in reverse order. Once the dragon enchantment trigger is on the stack then he can respond to it, but he can NOT decide he wants to put his sheoldred trigger over Jacobs enchantment.... -_-
He won't look at anyone in the eye when he goes and describes his actions that are him cheating. He just stares at his board. He knows what he's doing. Like I said, claiming ignorance is complete nonsense and disrespectful to his guests, his channel, and his watchers.
