Very comfortable presentation, felt like I was hangin' out watching you work. Great lesson, nice work. Finally! Out of all the videos I've watched that included soldering you are the first in my recollection to describe *and* demonstrate the correct method of applying heat and solder. Worth adding that a good solder joint will be shiny, the grungy looking ones are cold solder, poor contact, and easily broken. Thanks for doing this, much appreciated.
Is there great difference in the quality of the terminal / connectors? How important is it on a Honda to use the bullet-type terminals vs auto type that are soldered well as you do here?
Can you help me...I was wondering what gauge wire would an auxiliary unswitched extra lead use in the headlight bucket...I need to know to buy the right male quick connect...Thanks
Did Honda solder the connections at the factory? I tried to solder a couple of my connections but failed miserably. I think my iron isn't hot enough. I found it especially difficult trying to solder a broken wire together that was on the bike... so I couldn't take it the bench to work on it. I'm getting ready to ditch that cheap blue plastic splicer that came with my Dyna S ignition and tap into the main ignition wire properly.
So I’ve used a circuit tester and it shows current but when I hook the harness together my bike still isn’t getting power. I’ve checked everything a million times over any ideas?
I've got a 1993 harley sportster 883..swapping out the stock steering for a 6 over springer (TCBros ) i can't find a specific depinning tool to remove the harness from the headlight bucket ..any suggestions..??
We don't unfortunately! Most of the OEM harnesses we see are in pretty great shape though. I'd recommend picking up a good shape used one and just fixing and cleaning it up a bit vs. starting from stratch.
Hi can u add a fuel sender to a motorbike that has never had one and how please . I have a sfm zz125cc and dont have one fron new and its a 2014 but need one please help
Thank you. I appreciate your videos so much! I realize that's what you are working with in the video, 16 gauge, but I didn't want to assume. Is there a way to look at a wire and know what gauge it is? The stuff on my bike is pretty old and beat up, so I'm seeing nothing written on the housing.
You can get heat shrink tubing which is lined with an adhesive coating, which melts and seals as it shrinks, leaving you with a completely waterproof connection on a splice joint
great video! was really helpful and informative! will be using on my custom bike! and has anyone ever told you, you look like Bert from big bang theory ? XD

Thanks for a great video as a hobbyist with vintage bikes its easy to forgo the basics such as wiring. You guys are the best 👌
Great content, narration, sound and lighting; a pleasure to watch.
Great demonstration. Your patient and practical. Keep up the good work.
Great demos. I sure would like to see tin or silver plated wire. When I see beautiful shiny copper I then see green corrosion….

Hey Brenden: Another great video, thanks. One question - I notice that you don't use any flux - is there a reason for not using it?
I've always wondered about this as well.

are the tube joiners for heat shrinking??
Wonderful video. Thanks for taking the time to make!

You're not Brenden, you're Eric Wareheim. You can't fool us! LOL
Perfect. thank you, I will have greater confidence now.

Great video. So well explained and shown.
Good morning, it's too bad you didn't have closed captions, I would have like to have seen what you said!
Do you do a complete kit for making a new loom for a cb175 1973 usa model please? I am in the UK.

Muchas gracias por compartir tus conocimientos... son de gran utilidad.
Great video! Thank you!
How do I know what gauge wire to use? I'm new to this stuff, and I want to do it right the first time. Thanks.
EnjoyTheRideWithMe most of the wires in the bike is 16 gauge. Items like starters use much larger wires since they draw large current

Merci, very useful.
Do you know of a motorcycle wiring diagram software?
Great video, need to rewire XS650
Same

Love the adhesive coated heat shrink! Its pricey but fantastic
Nice job, thanks. The "plastic" around the copper is called the insulation.
Awesome video!! Thanks for this, very helpful!
thank you so much
good video
Poderia colocar legenda para seus seguidores de outro pais !
Great vid!

"Crimping ain't easy "
You're the only one who got it...lol "crimpin' aint easy"
You don't solder a crimped connector.
Pimpin ain't easy
lol, Crimpin’ ain’t easy.
That was very useful and nicely presented. Thank you.
