Uterine sarcoma

Malignant tumors of smooth muscle or connective tissue of the uterus
Risk factors:
Pelvic radiation
Tamoxifen use
Postmenopausal patients
Signs / symptoms:
Abnormal/postmenopausal bleeding
Pelvic pain or pressure
Uterine mass
Diagnosis:
Ultrasound ± additional imaging
Endometrial biopsy
Histopathology of surgical specimen
Treatment / management:
Hysterectomy
± Adjuvant chemotherapy, radiation therapy
