I'll try to make this short but THANKS.i just bought a 14x. I found a bunch of like metallic green pieces in the oil.i bought the machine knowing the charging system was out. I don't know of anything else that's green that could have came apart inside of their so I'm going to put my money on the stator came apart.im glad I caught it before it blew the engine. Any tips on what I should do next?hope fully I don't have to yank the engine. How did you find out the cams were rounded off?
I knew the cams were rounded off just from experience and looking at them. The machine definitely wasn't running right. Make sure you get all the metal out of your oil pan. Good luck and happy riding.
so whatsup? did you rebuild it? the arctic cat motors arent bad -and theres many companies usin that design- btw i like the old v twin- and the new yamaha 3 cyl also has lot troubles- less oil the cam /heads often go first- i had to rebuild the head on my ktm once and since then put 25.000kms on it- use only best oil- minimum 10w- not 5 or 0 !! ;-)
These motors were junk new Arctic cat only gave factory warranty for six months they didn't even bother to tighten clamps on intake mine was junk at 600 miles don't ever buy one had four friends not one lasted over 2000 miles
