Thanks Cody I just did it first time ever doing a serpentine belt. Your directions were fantastic and easy to understand. One thing I reccomend to someone if your having a hard time seeing or understanding the belt diagram draw it yourself while looking at the way it's already laid out on the pulleys.
Wow-- I watched the a-1Auto dude do it and he took the motor mount out and jacked it up UNDER THE OIL PAN (which didn't seem too bright to me) and YOUR way is a LOT simpler..
I need to change the belt on my 03 malibu. I think I will need to support the motor with a jack under the oil pan and remove 4 bolts on that bracket you flipped and take it out. I will probably put a piece of 2x8 board the length of the pan between the jack and pan to be on the safe side. Do you think that will work? Thanks
Very good, thank you! I was wondering if I should also change my tensioner arm and idler pulleys while it was all apart? They have a lot of miles on them, but they still feel smooth.
Geloradanan R'lyeh on the tensioner pulley you might see a crack in the aluminum round area. It’s a sign that he spring is worn out. Check for lines grooves on the tensioner too they should match up but if they are off then it’s another worn out sign. I go through a place called “summit “ for all my parts at a good cost and quality
I have an 07 maxx and some guy said not to replace it because I would also have to replace the motor mounts, is this true? I really need to change the belt because it's balding and I think that's why my alternator isn't spinning right
3:11 My belt is making a ton if contact with it's own tensioner as it goes along the side of the tensioner... What should I do? The belt and tensioner are both brand new, could it be the belt being a hair too small?

This video really helped me out. I was able to follow along in the dark, and able to make it to work on time.

Would have been nice to show the tensioner tool actually working. I can't get the correct angle to release the tension. 🙄
yeah back then the camera i just couldn't fit in there now i have even smaller cameras.
Very helpful great video. Thanks for your help. Keep up the good work man.
Thank you great help

The belt and tensioner are both brand new, could it be the belt being a hair too small?
Is this the same deal with a pontiac g6 3.5 hydraulic powersteering?
Is there a way to install a smaller belt, to by pass the AC compressor?
Yes
What size is the shorter one to bypass it
Just get some string and route it the way you want to bypass it then measure the string and buy the belt length for your vehicle
How you replace the alternator????
With your hands 😂
