    You are so right to work with your therapist on the food worries...as the anxiety/fear can actually make a physical response just as the food itself...keep calm and tell yourself you are safe ❤

    Your "Pack With Me" vlog is my go-to source for packing inspiration. Your tips and tricks are a lifesaver! Speaking of travel essentials, have you come across the new v4 Bento Bag from NomadLane? It looks like it could be an awesome addition to your travel gear.

    As someone with a life threatening dairy allergy and with additional food sensitivities, I feel for you! I love to travel and explore new places, culture, and food too -- it can be so hard with a dietary restriction! I find it helpful to go to a store or market every few days to get fresh fruits and veggies that are easy to prep and carry with me so I have a backup if I'm not comfortable with a food based situation. You definitely are not alone in this!

      My son has an anaphylaxis to milk and all dairy so I feel posts of this type because it's super hard. I hope they find a cure for this type of allergy or a way to get it to no be so dire if exposed.

    I've heard stories of people who are celiac who go abroad and have no issues with gluten outside of the US. I feel like a big part of gluten issues revolve around how we process/manufacture it in the states :/ but hope it goes well :)

      @@taylorkuczek Italy is amazing for gluten free. The very first person known to have coeliac/celiac disease was in Italy. Children are regularly screened for coeliac/celiac too 😊

    • @gnomie3908
      @gnomie3908 Рік тому

      Coeliac disease is a bit different to just gluten intolerance though. Sometimes it might not present as it causing you an issue in the short term but in the long term it can cause certain types of cancer (and other health issues including infertility). My grandmother ate gluten and was fine until her mid-80s and then was dropping a lot of weight. It turned out she was celiac and it was just lingering in the background. I don't disagree that over processed food in the US exacerbates it but I wouldn't advise someone that they would be okay.

    Dudeeeee I also am in the middle of the same thing w celiac! I've never been suspected for it, I've eaten gluten my whole life and never thought it bothered me but I have always had horrible gut issues, bloating, pain, brain fog, etc. I've tested my microbiome & my hormones and they're all normal, no parasites or bacterial overgrowth. I just did some bloodwork and one of the tests came back positive for celiac but the other didn't so they're confused and I have to do more testing. I am hoping we both get answers! It makes it SO hard to eat out & especially travel. I would really love for you to share how you're able to avoid gluten while you travel!

  • @julial3692
    @julial3692 Рік тому +5

    I feel you on the gluten/travel anxiety! It's the worst. I have NCGS on top of other gut issues (I have dysbiosis too) and I dread having to travel to places that aren't gluten-free friendly. I don't have any family or friends with food intolerances or dietary restrictions and it's very isolating. I can relate to feeling like a burden too. Definitely do the celiac test when you get back home! My previous doc forgot to tell me that you have to be eating gluten for the test to be accurate. I was already eating gluten-free when I got tested 🙃. Magnesium citrate powder (like the CALM brand) really helps me stay regular, but only if I take it every night. I like a supplement called Oxy-Powder for "emergency" situations lol (def make sure you're at home and near a bathroom while figuring the dosing out 😂). Those two products have helped me more than anything from my naturopaths. Good luck and have an amazing time on your honeymoon! ❤ You deserve it! Btw The Well in downtown Austin is an great restaurant with a 100% gluten free menu!

    As someone with celiac who went gluten free before doing an endoscopy, you at least have the good news of knowing that purposely eating a lot of gluten is the standard protocol before being tested! So may actually work out for the best! I hope you get everything figured out quickly, I totally get how much it sucks feeling icky all the time ❤

    Hey boo! Watching the section now about your gut issues and I'm sorry you're going through that 😢 I've been dealing with gut issues for over 8 years and living with it sucks, let alone traveling with it! 😂 Personally my journey has included a lot of self experimentation and self diagnosis and a loooot of gaslighting from different doctors, before finally finding the naturopathic doctor I see currently that helped me confirm my suspicion of having a parasite! I'm not sure where you're at now with your journey, but I hope you have gotten to the root of it to at least find clarity about what's going on and start the process of healing! 🤎
