Many face this problem. Certain sunscreens do make skin darker. There are few sunscreens that have skin brightening properties. Try using them. Or a matte finish sunscreen. These should not make skin darker.

The only sunscreens that don't burn my eyes like crazy are the littllextra riceberry sunscreen ones. Other brands I’ve tried make me rinse my face within minutes due to severe irritation-even if I avoid getting it close to my eyes! So if anyone is having trouble with that, give it a go.
