A day wedding with a lunch reception sounds so good! Most, if not all of the wedding receptions I’ve been too have been in the evening. It’s fine, but they do give off more of a party vibe IMO. Wow both shops had some nice dresses. The first shop had great customer service, especially if you are comfortable with having someone help you more closely in the fitting room. The $5000 does initially seem like a lot but technically this should be a once in a lifetime purchase right, so if you find something you find that amazing, it would be worth it! I wonder if the service was so good because they know they will make their money back from the dress (and veil). Kinda of like how if you go to a Ferrari dealership, they give the best service lol. The 2nd shop looked like it had some great styles but it was hard to envision the final look, as it wasn't in your size. I do agree that getting a dress with some form fitting sleeves would really look great and fit the motif of the Church more! Good luck with the process of choosing the right dress. It can be time consuming and stressful but it’s supposed to be special and the right dress will be worth it!
That's the main reason why I prefer doing a lunch reception! I don't really want mine to be a "party" if you get what I mean! $5000 is definitely a lot! But like you said, it's a once in a lifetime purchase and would rather spend on a dress that I love rather than getting a cheaper one that I think is just "ok". I 100% agree! I'm sure they take that into consideration when they mark up the prices of the dresses hahah Yes, I actually went to another bridal store that had a dress very similar to this but looked more structured!
