I’m truly sorry for all the drama and stress you and your daughter have to go through. The most important thing is to be in a stable, supportive and caring environment. You definitely need a plan to move out and away from this toxic environment. Wishing you all the very best and know many of us are thinking about you 💎
No, you have to check the oil level before you add any oil. If you have just driven your car, make sure your car is on level ground, let it sit for 30 minutes before checking the oil level.
First you should find your engine oil level dipstick and check the oil before you start the engine.Check owners manual or google if your car has a low oil level or low oil pressure warning light or both. If low oil pressure DONT DRIVE IT until cause is determined. If low level fill to "safe" on oil dipstick.Oil is the life blood of your motor ! Keep it full and clean and it will last you years.
terrible job by the cop !!! Sorry u and ur daguhter had to deal with the tantrum of ur Roomate- she and you shouldnt have to deal with that. and i hope ur car is Ok
@Kate_unfiltered First thing to check would be the fluid level in the transmission. Low fluid level can cause a jerking sensation when in gear. When you get your oil changed, ask if they can check it also.
Transmission mount(s), easy fix. Tranny oil level. Stick shift cars, clutch. If short of funds. Everyone knows a car guy or neighbor who is a car guy. Let them find your problem first. I help my neighbors all the time. Especially older or short of funds situations. And let a shop tell you that you need a tranny rebuild. BS. Local shop can get you a used one from a salvage yard and install for much, much less. But have a car guy check it first.

I feel ya on this topic. Been divorced for 5 and been single since. Hope you all are safe and always have a backup plan just in case.
You have the biggest heart your loved and deeply appreciated
Restore is a oil additive that will help a old car.
Whatever you do, don't overfill your oil, then you will damage your engine. Only fill it to the fill line.
