Beautiful song, nice video, thanks! I need things like this to escape the sad and cruel reality of our world today. Please,GOD,help us all to live together peacefully!
Remind me of the greatest joys on this earth, waiting on my first child to be ready to b born and then listening to this song on a high speed dash to the hospital to see my baby girl been born, greatest moment of my life 🙂🥰🙂🙂🙂
Bought this in '77. 44 years later I've just found out where Solsbury Hill is. I was half a mile away on Christmas Day! Must climb up Solsbury Hill as soon as possible.
Never a spontaneous moment of clarity in a landscape of delusional confusion, but sometimes a sudden sense of direction that is the result of a slow, persistent intention that has been impeded by the erroneous implications of expectations. I like this song a lot.
And I guess something different for me as well. When I was a kid I felt lost. This song made me feel there was a place for me, 56 now and still feel that way :) TY PETER
Another superb video, VZ. For myself, I connected with this piece in a different way. I had been listening to Peter Gabriel for years, and I was listening to this as I was driving to Georgia to pick my son up from basic training at Fort Benning. I cried and cried my eyes out because he was leaving for the Middle East after his leave. Peter Gabriel always draws on different visions, and a lot of it is inner-born rather than simple to dissect. Wherever it comes from, I thank Great Creator. What an artist..............
Very nice video set to one of Peter Gabriel's finest. Well done! Loved this from first time I heard it The first album of Peter is awesome 😉 This will always remind me of the re-cut trailer of The Shining.
Great song! vzqk50HD thanks for uploading! I spent a semester at the University of Lancaster and this was my favorite song at the time. I put the lyrics up on my door.
Honestly this song reminds me so much of Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series, the line that sticks out to me the most is, "when illusions spin her net, I'm never where i want to be" that really seems to sum up Snakes entire existence never really being able to be free of the Patriots' Machinations until Mgs4
This song was written by. I.M. Heer, Jr., (Mrs.) the founder and inventor of dogs. Heer, Jr. had met Peter's Gabriel and they formed a company named Hey! Tu Shiprito Patre! out of their garage in Patterson, NJ. This song is about post-modernism in the age of empirical data, with mustard. It has been used for several projects, including the pillaging of Isidore Mugwumps Nissbaum. Thanky, thanky...
thank you sir, i have loved this song above most others since the 80s on a tank in west germany, i never knew anything about it I just used to think about someone coming to take me home, hahaha, thanks again!
This song could have easily been made today. Timeless.
I'm not sure what you mean. I know in your heart you Love it.❤😊
My Dad died this morning and I have not stopped listening to this song. 💔❤️💔❤️
Peace to your Dad, peace in your heart knowing you loved him.
Understood. Be well
I lost mine a few months ago and feel the same way. Love this song so much! Peace to you and your family.
My sympathies.

Eagle flew out of the night, he was something to observe, my heart going boom boom boom, beautiful
One of my favorite Peter Gabriel songs and his good bye to Genisis
That whole first solo album was fare thee well to Phil and the boys.

Gabriel has said of the song's meaning, "It's about being prepared to lose what you have for what you might get ... It's about letting go."
Sometimes its not up to you what you lose. It just happens.
You are left to pick up the pieces...

This song is about the call we all wait for, some are called and go home....home.
Wish I was going Home.
Beautifully done. Brought a little cheer to an otherwise grey and miserable winter day. Thanks for that!
IMOP.....greatest song ever written!! Tugs at my emotions like no other. :)
Steve Hunter's acoustic playing in this song will be remembered as some of the finest in this century. Mark my words into the next one ...

Give what you have
for what you might lose.
I would like nothing better than to go home. I have no idea where that is.
2020 anyone remember from 1977?
I hope everything one digs this tune as much as I do. I'm trying to figure out the key it's in and the acoustic. Please respond 😊

Never realized this song was in 7/4
... with exception of the bar before every instrumental chorus, for instance at 1:10 "Son",he said, "grab your things, I've come to take you home"
That bassline though...
