The issues you stated are very minor. The trunk hatch is not a big deal. The sync is also not a big deal. Maybe it should have come with those features, possibly, but I will take the reliability and power from the B58 any day over these little concerns. Poor visibility is usually found in many smaller sport cars. These few things would NOT push me away from the car's potential and how it performs on the track, street, and racing. I would buy another one!
Some of the features mentioned in this video are minor but not really minor... Its more like the sentiment of "exactly why didn't these features get added?" (i.e. dual climate control, trunk release, setting to turn off auto start/stop AND the active sound design, lets not forget the infamous wind buffeting, etc etc because there are more)
I own a 2022 Supra and honestly disagree with all your points (except fake exhaust sound). A small sport coupe comes with shortcomings, that's how it is. The rear is dancing, but that's precisely what I love about it, and on track it is very rewarding to push hard because of it. That said, I understand this car is not for everybody, and considering your critics, I think you should go for a porsche :)
My NC Miata requires using the key or remote to open the trunk. I always thought that waving your foot underneath was an SUV thing for moms with bags of groceries. Recently, I installed a scan gauge that causes the engine start/stop to be disabled. I believe it's because the OBD II senses a current draw, so it requires the alternator to constantly charge the battery.
i would say not having a trunk button might annoy me personally. i would look for a way to disable the fake noise. the tail-happy nature of the car is a plus for me :)
@@TheLemonFactorcan this be set to default off at the dealership? In other words, you would have to turn it on and it will default to 'off' every time you turn the car off?
@ytj22 I just think it’s easier to do it yourself. You’ll also have the option to make any changes in the future… (4) Annoying Problems w/ the (MKV) Toyota GR Supra! [BIMMERCODE Coding] ua-cam.com/video/54vgEVo6aJI/v-deo.html
I am the same height as you. I sit low so that I can just see the yellow hood line. Generally that would solve the front visibility issue. Also when changing lanes, use the blind spot warning and just shoulder check the area directly next to your door windows. It can take a while to get used to but it worked for me.
For point number 1 with the door closing thing just adjust the trunk bumpers, two screws with circular rubber stoppers screw them out a bit, voila, problem solved. I did that the first day ive had my supra and its never relatched on me.
@@TheLemonFactor I didn't. As an owner it didn't add any value to watching the whole thing. Probably a good video for non-owners looking at one though.
You forgot most one, no engine remote start and 360 view. Thats the only things makes me sad. Otherwise, I have the same color and year thats is my daily drive and I enjoy it a lot!
Grandmas need to buy a toyota corolla. Even the Miata in top spec(RF GT) has terrible rear visibility, "buffeting"(top down, or up in soft top) and the other SPORTS CAR characteristics. No argument about the pumped in audio (should be a crime in a sports car) or instability at the limit. Need that subframe upgrade. That being said; don't buy a sports car if you don't want one. Simple. Don't go to the beach and complain about sand.
The problem is it's not a Toyota, it's a BMW. German Engineering motto is too make things needlessly complicated requiring specialized tools. After my MINI Clubman, I'll never buy a BMW again. I got tire of replacing failed plastic parts. Even multiple exterior plastic trim was warping from the sun. Lowest quality parts designed to fail that are a nightmare to replace or get to. Example: How about a plastic electronic lock/release for the trunk that the plastic eventually cracks apart after so many cycles. But wait, you can't replace it when it breaks because the hatch doors are now locked shut and there is NO physical release or cable, or even emergency child pull to open the doors to access the failed lock. You can't remove the plastic panels from inside the car either with the doors shut. You have to cut through the interior plastic paneling to shove a lock pick in there to release the latch! Then replace the damaged plastic panel and lock. 3 major engine recalls, drinking a quart of oil every 500 miles at only 40,000 miles. PCV valve is non accessible/replaceable, it's molded into the internals of valve cover. I could keep going, but get rid of this car while someone will still give you top dollar.
Your story made me angry and frustrated 😩. Do you still have the Mini? There must have been something special about the Mini for you to have kept it 🤷♂️
Minis started out with bad reliability/quality, but BMW has steadily improved them to a point where Consumer Reports has recently rated them as having better than average reliability.

@timbaland952 I did forget the wind buffeting issue 😫
But it’s not nothing for the price premium of this car. 🫤

I know I buy a performance car based on how the hatchback works, and the climate control buttons, which are really just set and forget.
This car in manual is actually faster then m2 g87 in manual on the track but the skill barrier is quite high.
I wasn’t aware of that. That’s very impressive! 👍

Never knew Bruce Willis drives a Supra, nice!
😁😉👍
Mostly all your issues are addressed in the aftermarket. Toyota's designer built this car for the aftermarket enthusiasts
I’m not aware of a solution for the trunk release 🤔🤷♂️
@@TheLemonFactor Yeah except that one 😅
I went with M3 Sedan same engine. I love it . I test drive Supra didn’t feel it.
I’m curious to know what you didn’t like about the Supra? And what you like most about the M3?
Not the same engine...
The auto stop thing is very annoying. I have the same issue in every car I've driven, it never wants to stay off
Luckily it can be coded out on the Supra 😉

Literally perfection.
Imagine the complaints people would have the higher end sports cars.
You made a wise choice to get the Supra.
Good video and points but I wouldn't mind any of them. Still waiting for my GR Supra, holding it for the 2025.
Totally agree! As I stated at the end of the video, the PROs definitely outweigh any cons 😁👍

Their reliability has improved over the years 🤷♂️🤞
WOW, called this back when you sold the Miata and mentioned this as a replacement 😅 😮 crazy…
Huh 🤷♂️???

Wait a minute,
Did you buy a sport sedan or a sport car.
You need to know those concepts before came up with issues that all sports car suffers....
No oil consumption issues?
Not at all. From what I've seen, it's only an issue with some 2021 model year Supras.
@@TheLemonFactor thank you sir
M4 is the same with the duel climate control sync lol and visibility is kind of a issue coming from a Lexus driver
That seems crazy to me considering the price of these cars. 🫤
would more downforce help with the rear jitter? i see a lot of supra with upgrade duckbills or bolt on wings.
Maybe, but I’m aware of many that do have rear wings that have complained about the jitter. 🤷♂️
I really don’t know any car that stores start-stop settings.
I do, and I have had some, including a Porsche.
