The Emperor on the Imperial

The Nine Trees Future Arts Center located in the Fengxian district of southern Shanghai unveiled the inaugural Beethoven Festival in July by programming his five piano concertos performed by five pianists back to back over five consecutive nights largely following the chronological order.
They are accompanied by the Nine Trees Philharmonic, the Center's resident orchestra. Now in its second season, Nine Trees Phil boasts of 38 full members with an average age of 27.
On its fourth night, Sofya Gulyak rendered the Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor" from a Bösendorfer Imperial under the baton of Anatoly Zatin.
