Nie klang Heinrich Heine so funky, Bertolt Brecht so pop, Erich Weinert so aktuell! „IG POP“, so heißen sowohl das neue Album von David Julian Kirchner als auch seine fulminante Live-Band, die als solidarisches Bündnis aus 2 Girls & 2 Boys besteht. Man traut sich, den Klassenkampf in den Mittelpunkt einer Pop-Performance zu stellen. Die IG POP ist also halb Pop-Gewerkschaft, halb Pop-Band. Und die fordert auf zum Tanz, klar, aber eben auch zum Protest - alles auf dem Spannungsfeld zwischen Arbeit und Pop.
