Hi Meg, thank you for showing a very simple way to make a box card. I will make more of them now. Love the one you made. You made it so easy to follow.
Meg, you are a terrific teacher. I've looked at other videos and yours is the easiest to follow. Thanks so much for the tutorial. I'm now addicted to making these cards!
Wow! You really did simplify this process. Thank you. Yesterday I bought a magazine with a template for a box card and I struggled with it and the directions until I found your tutorial. I don't need the template, just your excellent instruction.
So glad you enjoyed it Teresa! My goal is to keep things as simple and easy to follow as possible. The best compliment is when someone says they made one of my cards with the directions!
Thank you for this tutorial, I honestly thought that making a Pop up box card was way beyond my capabilities but you've changed that, once and for all. Your instructions were precise and to the point and, what's more, in inches!! Well done, you.
Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial! I've seen pop-up box cards on Pinterest, but haven't attempted one yet. Your version just looks super simple, and you explained it so well, especially about decorating it. I'm also glad you included the measurements on your blog post. Have to make one of these for my brother's birthday this month! Hope you have a wonderful day!
Thanks! I thought this would be an impossible card for me to make, but you demonstration and instructions give me hope. I will definitely try to make one.
I am SO thrilled to inspire you to try something new, Margie! You can do it! These cards are truly a treat to make and SO well received. Have fun with your pop up box card!
Honestly, I clicked on this because it had simple in the title. And I am oh so happy that I did. Thanks for a very easy to follow tutorial. I'm making an anniversary card for my in-laws right now!
Love your very simple to follow version of this box. Looks easier than my craft dies version. I'm gonna try yours instead of getting out all the dies and machine. Thanks a bunch. Green-Lid glue. I think that's my favorite Tombox multi-purpose glue. haha
@@MegLoven I made the pop-up box card for a student who moved away last Friday. She loved it, and all the kids thought it was cool. Besides confetti, I also had folded post-it notes from the principal and several teachers pop out with the cube. Afterwards, a beaded bracelet I made with her name on it with left in the bottom of the box. It was awesome! Thanks again.
I bought one of these at a craft fair last weekend as a sample to make my own, but your great video is going to make it so much easier for me to make my own ... Thank you, Meg, so much!
Hooray! I’m so glad you found the video helpful. It’s such an intimidating (impressive!) project but absolutely do-able with a few tips 😊 Have fun with your card making!
Love your demo! I keep seeing these cards. You made it super easy to understand how they did that. I made one with a butterfly; it was good. But I just made one for my pistol club...I have to say it turned out AWESOME!!! Thank you. Going to try to add a link to you when I post a picture of it.
How fun!! Yes, I’d love to see a photo!! So happy to hear that the tutorial was helpful - the pop up box card is such a great project. I’m sure your card was a big hit!
These is so much fun to make. I've made 3 since I've watched your video. So glad I found it because by far your instructions and measurements are the most simple and easiest to understand. Thank you for sharing this...now I will not have to buy that die. :-)
Thank you! I've been wanting to try and make one for a couple of months now, you might measure in inches, but I have a double measured ruler with centimetres on one side and inches on the other and am able to convert. I have written the measurements in both inches and centimetres to know. You are awesome! It's turned out so well 😃😃😃
So glad you found the pop up box card tutorial helpful, Janet! Have fun with your project! Be sure to tune back later this week for another version of my pop-up box card with the new Bonanza Buddies stamp set!
I'm going to give this a try. I did just see that sizzix just came out with a die that cuts this; but I rather save the cash and try it this way first. Thanks for sharing this video you gave perfectly clear instructions and that is very appreciated!
I loved your tutorial that was straight and to the point, no 3/4 or 16th measurement lol I was just about to buy that die from Stephanie Bernard until I saw this thank you once again.
Yes! It’s a great one - I’m thinking you mean the trimmer, right? It’s available in my online store: www.stampinup.com/products/paper-trimmer?demoid=49591
Hmm... I've updated the blog post to include some handy links to the basic supplies. Maybe try here and use the links in the post. lovenstamps.com/pop-up-box-card-make-it-simple-a-video-tutorial/
LuLu Johnson you’re welcome! The flaps can fold either way - they do fold flat when they’re done as in the video, but they can certainly be opposite - that would work, too. Good thought!
Brilliant tutorial - thank you! What was it that you called the clear plastic looking think that you stick your embellishments on with? And any ideas where I can buy this in the UK? Thank you!
Hello! Do you mean the clear plastic strips that hold up the elements? Those are Window Sheet strips, and they're available from a Stampin Up demonstrator in the UK. If I didn't understand your question though, let me know and I'll try again :)
Wow! You made that so much easier than all the other crazy videos I've watched on making a box card! Thank You!!! Do you know how attach one of these pop up boxes inside the center of a regular card? So that when you open the card the box (glued to the center of the card)pops open and the card is now the "mat" the box sits on. I hope I explained that so you know what I mean, Thank you and look forward to your other videos! 😁
You'd need to put some extra creases and cuts in the bottom panels to make it fold out - probably some diagonal score lines. Interesting idea - might have to play with it :)
Yes! Sorry for the delayed response - although good news, you still have time for Halloween :) The dimensions I used for this card are designed to fit in a regular Stampin' Up! Medium Envelope.
I love the tut. it is really the most simple way so far I have seen,. It was just too fast for me in the measurements part as I tried to write it down. Thanks for a great job.
Judi, sorry for not getting back to you sooner - I had to find the card to measure for you. The lining dsp pieces are 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" each. Happy Stamping! - Meg
The papers are all made by Stampin' Up! and available through my online store (links in my 'about' page). The designer series papers shown in this video are retired, but there are some great updated choices with current colors and patterns to sub for the ones I used on this Pop Up Box Card.
It's called a Simply Scored Tool (122334) and it's available from Stampin' Up! through a demonstrator. I'd be happy to help you - just visit my blog or website and click ordering.
ScrappyAnime25 If your embellishments aren't too heavy (punched card stock pieces, an occasional rhinestone) they should be fine. But the acetate will definitely stand up to a lot more weight (LOL...no pun intended)!

oh em gee! play this with the subtitles on! did you type in your own subtitles? they are hilarious. (in beginning it mentions cutting with a bally tip thing!)
The subtitles are an automatic feature that UA-cam adds... and they're pretty horrible as far as matching what I'm actually saying! Glad you found them funny though :)
THIS WAS THEE BEST TUTORIAL EVER!!!! you actually made it so simple, no fluff...no special terms, just plain and simple.
Hi Meg, thank you for showing a very simple way to make a box card. I will make more of them now. Love the one you made.

SO glad you found the tutorial!! A fabulous project for sure - hmm...I might need to pull this out and make a refreshed version!
