I obviously got lucky, but it was so fun to “reenjoy” this game. I think I was too embarrassed to admit I completely overlooked the JINN spot with MEANDER. But I wasn’t 100% about MENDERS either.
One thing I’ve learned recently from watching you and Mack Meller is that I may be a bit too quick to dump the Q in some of these spots.
Great analysis! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the games!
You did a great job with this. I'm a long time Magic: The Gathering stream viewer and this is as good a set up as I've seen from people trying to stream live table top gaming. There's a lot of information on screen but it's all useful and makes the game state more clear.
The commentary is well done too.
thank you!
You always do such a great job with these, I'm so excited you're gonna start filming all ur live tournament games!
Annette! Massive fan -- genuinely hope life is treating you well. Kudos for following your passion, something I wish we saw more of. ^_^
Hey netto fancy seeing you here
great content, basically informative scrabble ASMR. looking forward to the rest of this series!
thanks bud!!
Omg finally more tournament content from axcertypo 😂😂😂.
That’s pretty boss that you’ve created your own recording setup! Look forward to seeing the rest of the games!
Champ Sokol! The production quality keeps getting better. You sometimes spoke too softly in your previous videos. Thank you for uploading :)
Awesome stuff!! Look forward to seeing the rest of this series, and excited for more content like this for your future tourneys! Access to tournament footage and commentary like this is a fantastic, belated addition to the Scrabble world. Hopefully you’re a trendsetter on this among other top experts.
If I had to pick one quibble, it would be that as a viewer, I enjoy the overhead camera and straight on rack camera, rather than looking at them from an angle. I’ve heard you mention though in past vids how those cameras can be more cumbersome for the players. On the flip side, one fun benefit of this view was seeing the actual clock, and you do a great job leveraging the Woogles interface to mitigate the camera angle.
If a day comes when you’re no longer producing this stuff, exclamations of “ochone!” will echo across the Scrabble community
Yup, hopefully my new rig will work and people will get an overhead view. Would definitely have had a straight-on rack camera if it was physically possible. It's surprising how far away from the rack a regular webcam needs to be for that to be possible. I think I'll get an ultrawide-angle webcam to help with this. Thanks for your feedback as always!
Excellent video.
I really enjoyed this, josh. I'll watch every one of these
wow, thanks!
great setup and commentary!
Great content, can't wait to see more
Very cool setup!
Keep em coming Josh :)
Q(AT) simmed best actually. My leave was ?HNOOR which Quackle says bingoes over 75% after Q(AT). I did miss FOgHORN/PIANO but I think I like HOOF better, particularly against a national champion who knows way more 8's than me presumably ;) Quackle sim likes HOOF better too.
Yup, that makes tons of sense. Funny thing is I would have been less rattled if you had just played FOGHORN (which I assume is a bit worse than HOOF), because then I would have known you had the blank with QAT. I wonder if there are any other racks that contain 3 of FHOO in which QAT is also correct.
YES FINALLY I told you people would like this
that was really interesting. i really enjoyed watching as i have never been to a scrabble tournament and it’s really nice to see what it looks like.
just a suggestion, maybe you could display how many points each play was on the screen after it is played. and also maybe you can put your own current ranking on your side of the screen as a point of comparison with your opponent.
The info on the left side is my standing. Apologies if that wasn't clear enough! Only info that I don't put is my own rating. I think coming in I was 2079 or something. Maybe that info should be there too
2:03 PIANOS? makes 10 words in North America.
🎉🎉🎉
euclase loses every time, don't play off 6 tiles down 100
You have a Deniro vibe going on.
you talkin to me?
yo did you get a haircut?
anyway awesome videos and the setup is totally rad. been binging scrabble for a little over a month now and your videos make great listening while i eat. looking forward to seeing how the tournament goes!
@@mikuhatsune2988 thank you!! And yes, I do get haircuts sometimes haha
@@axcertypo oh ofc. lookin snazzy
I admire you as a great scrabble player and, most likely, you are in my top 3 of favorites. I want to see some of your games and thoughts, but due to me being new to the game it is extremely hard. Sorry for some criticism, but there are some cons in your content.
1) your voice isn't so amusing and appealing for newbies. It is comparable with golf commentators that are really boring.
2) Maybe just a little bit of additional commentary for the newbies might be helpful. Highlighting some of the hooks or obscure ideas you had in mind might be necessary to attract new people.
I genuinely want to see your content and to see an improvement, but it is really hard to concentrate on the video. Hope you don't mind some negative feedback.
I have and will have plenty of content where I "overexplain" thought processes, but sadly I can't change my voice. I'll continue to make these tournament footage videos in the same way, but other videos will feature different styles.
@@axcertypoThat is cool that you reply to the comment section. I understand that voice can't be changed, it's unfeasable, but maybe changing the style of the videos a bit will drag more attention. Hope to see some changes and thank you for reading my comment
