  • Aliyah Boston Defends Teammate Caitlin Clark in Postgame Press Conference
"Welcome back to our channel, where we bring you the latest news and highlights from the world of sports. Today, we have an inspiring story from the WNBA. Indiana Fever's Aliyah Boston showed tremendous leadership and support for her teammate Caitlin Clark in a postgame press conference. Let's dive into what happened."
"After the Indiana Fever's 88-81 victory over the Washington Mystics, rookie point guard Caitlin Clark was addressing the media about her performance. She was asked about how she plans to improve her off-target passes. As Clark began to respond, Aliyah Boston, the forward for the Fever, interrupted to defend her teammate. Here's what she had to say."
Boston: “It’s okay. It’s alright. It’s alright. Don’t worry, because you look at Caitlin and you look at the way she passes the ball and so sometimes things are going to happen that way and that’s okay because we’re not going to let her hang her head.
“We’re not going to hang our head off of any missed passes because we’re still continuing to gel together and we know that she’s a great passer, so if she thinks she can get that ball there, she’s going to throw it. And if I miss it, then it’s we’re good. We’re alright. Don’t worry. We’re good,”
"What a powerful statement from Boston! Clark was clearly appreciative of her teammate’s support and responded with a simple 'Thanks, AB.' This moment highlights the strong bond and teamwork within the Fever squad. And it's showing on the court as well."
"Aliyah Boston has been on a tear recently. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for June 10-16. She recorded three double-doubles and averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2 blocks per game during that stretch."
"In the win over the Mystics, Boston continued her stellar performance, tying for the team-high with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting. She also added eight rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. It’s clear that Boston and Clark are becoming more comfortable with each game."
Boston: “Yeah, great. I think Caitlin does a great job of finding me and also understanding when she can get her shot out of the pick-and-roll as well. I think that’s something that we’ve just continued to build over games and practices and just continued to get a feel for each other.
“So, I’m super excited of where it’s at now, but also I think a big part of that is Caitlin with the ball in her hands. She talks to me a lot and she tells me, ‘Do this or do that.’ And so I’m just trying to make sure I get to those spots, because I know she can hit me,”
"The Indiana Fever are currently 6-10 on the season and would be in the WNBA playoffs as the No. 8 seed if the season ended today. They return to action on Friday against the Atlanta Dream at 6:30 p.m. on ION. Be sure to tune in and support the team!"

Personally, I think there has been a marked improvement in Fever performance since the beginning games. They are learning each others strengths, weaknesses, and how to play as a TEAM. CC to Boston has so much promise and I love watching CC's assists almost as much as the 3s and drive to the basket. Last night I watched the highlights of the Fever/Atlanta games and was truly impressed by the gelling performances of Boston, Mitchell, Samuelson, Wheeler's quickness, Smith, and CC. I don't want to lessen the importance of the other team mates, but these quickly come to mind. I have high hopes for their performance as there are some tough teams to face.

Clark has had many, many passes not caught that should have been caught. Her Iowa team caught the ball better than these pro's. I for one would like to see the turn overs go to the ones that can't catch the ball when it is right there and on the money. Its not the passers fault that they can't catch a ball. Clark's turn overs would be more than half less if that was the case!!!!
