I didn't detect any real change between the first interview and the second. Elvis in my opinion remained consistently the same person throughout his entire career. It's a testament really to the man's humility. What I sensed was an introspective and somewhat lonely man, who was realistically aware that his great good fortune could turn on a dime. Here today and gone tomorrow seemed to be his attitude. Funny isn't it, because nothing was further from the truth. Elvis remains to this day, the greatest entertainer the world has ever had. He remains unsurpassed, he will never be forgotten, and he is an echo that will never die.
His mother's early and rather sudden death I feel may have shaped his outlook on life. There was always an acute sense of forlornness about Elvis.
Thank you for this video, I had never heard these interviews before.

I'm amazed at the topics of discussion & the responses. Keeping up with medical terminology, treatments, specific illnesses, reading books on philosophy.....a very in depth man was Elvis. Admitting he has a bad temper but also stating he knows how to handle it. Learning from life on a daily basis, brilliant interview & very unique.
Listening to all of this he had it together so well, where/why/how did it all go so wrong?
I've gotta love his thoughts on humanity, hoping it stayed with him until the very end.

I agree Elvis was a very in depth man. Where it did go wrong? I think we can’t imagine how it is to stand in his shoes, never ever anyone reached that level of fame before, there was nobody before him, no guidelines. And I know he had many very bad health problems (genetic), who knows how deep his struggles go, like I said It’s impossible trying to imagine how it is to stand in his shoes.

@lynnvandyke1065 I believe he was signed into them movie contracts 2-4 years ahead of time, so he had no control or say or input on how to play or do his roles. he didn't like that. he knew they weren't very good movies. he himself even said they were all the same plot with 12 songs lol so basically, he was put into a position again by the pos col parker. he didn't want to sing all the time in them movies he wanted something more of a serious role with no singing. it's just something he always wanted to do and to be taken seriously ...have a blessed day

Elvis didn’t like *musicals.* He once tried to watch Yul Brynner in “The King and I,” but it was a musical, and he left the theater! Yet, what did the Colonel sign Elvis up for? A bunch of musicals! Elvis once said he’d kiss a girl, sing her a love song, then get into a fight over her… Same old song, fight, and romance plot in all but one movie, “Charro.”

Not all the films were ridiculous. I do know what you mean though. Elvis often talked about it. Back then a lot of those type of films were popular for the teenagers. Comedy musicals boy meets girl, girl plays hard to get. Elvis became bored. He naturally wanted to grow as an actor. His movies were not changing and growing with him. His teenage fans were growing up. Colonel Parker held Elvis back. Elvis wanted to take his career world wide. He was loved in Europe.

He was a good guy, and a generous humanitarian. He gave away almost as much as he made. He loved people especially his fans. I also can’t explain it but I feel the same way. Some people are cruel,in their comments and say that you can’t know a person wich you haven’t met personally but I think you can, I know he was gentle, sweet, humble, helpful, funny and a great singer, no I ment the best singer ever. Ofcourse he had his mistakes because he wasn’t perfect…who is? And I have heard so many people talk nice about him. Yesterday I saw here on UA-cam a story that Prissie was lying about being a virgin and cheated on Elvis too. I realy like Linda Thompson the most, she tells onley nice stories about him and keeps him a little on the pedestal. Priscilla shows herself as an innocent small hurting girl. Elvis was pushed into marriage by Parker and others. But I am also a big fan of him and it grows each time I see him on UA-cam.

Very interesting these interviews. I knew allot about his deeper thoughts and him being so considerate to others as I've heard this before in an interview. I did not realise Joe Esposito was his bookkeeper... very interesting, enjoyed listening to them.

Really revealing interview from a relatively mature young man who was a deeper thinker than most:
Mentioning he needs to use willpower with food and avoid alcohol to keep his weight in check; and
Not wanting to rush into finding a mate but still needing someone to provide companionship other than his employed crew. These are issues he lost track of when the show-biz lifestyle and 60's social enticements got the better of him. But he definitely was a good guy.
