Gunter, I have seen many of your videos. The purpose of viewing your videos specifically is to find new sites to fly and have a reasonable expectation of the nature of the site. I have found your videos to be very well done, illustrating not only your skill as a video editor and photographer, but as a pilot as well. Your videos from Oludeniz inspired me to go there, a wonderful experience! Also thank you for the commentary describing the site and aspects we pilots would be interested in.
Hey Sam, this is a very nice feedback, thank you very much. Yes, this is the spirit of area28, I try to give my Videos a special character and since last year I only film in 4k 60fps. Olüdeniz is really a fine place, I always stayed at Belcekiz Beach, this hotel is more expensive, but I love it.
I think a few more information about flying here must be given. So, I also enjoyed this vid very much, that I actually went here on holiday for 7 days from 16-23 august. Being so excited to fly I didn't do much research about wind condition and wind forecast that I ended up flying only 1 hour out of 7 days. And that flight was a fight to maintain altitude barely on the cusp of the cliff. I found out after connecting with some of the local paragliders that 20-30km/h South wind is needed to fly, such as in this video. All the days I've been there was West and North-West , with some days between 14 p.m and 15 p.m with South-West at about 10-12km/h. Days in which I attempted to fly. So , to sum it up , if you plan on going to Matalascanas to fly , check wind forecast and keep in mind that to have a great flight you need South wind with speed above 20km/h.
Oh yes, you are absolutely right. I was about 10 times in Algodonales and only had this single flight in Matalascanas. The same in Conil what happened to you some years ago. 7 days and only one flight.
Wow, we were both beach soaring on almost the same day, what an amazing coincidence! ! Your spot looks better than Torrey Pines! Great vid as always, Gunter! We will have ours edited and posted in a few days.
WOW. Great place and great video. Thanks so much for sharing. I certainly need to go there - hopefully soon. One question: Why are your holding on to your back raisers for such extended periods?
Thank you very much - I was using the speed system very often in this flight, so I was not holding the breaks - and ist was comfortable. Hope you get there and you can fly, it's wonderful

is there an area that's good for ground handling and proximity flying?
Hi, do you mean there in Spain? Cant give hint, everywhere near the dunes, also Conil
@@area28 yes in this specific site/area, a good place to train barefoots, spins, etc.
What is the best time of year to fly this area?
This is hard to say, because it depends on the wind strengt and direction. March and April, but also in summer und Autum
I'ma go fly at the beach
When is the best flying season for this site?
Spring to October, but if the wind is ok W/SW all season. But when it's warm you can swim in the sea.

Lieber Helmar, vielen Dank.
Why vape...?
